I'm reading the comments and actually getting mad at myself. I live maybe 5 minutes from the Saxon Pub where he has a standing gig and I haven't been a handful of times. What's wrong with me? Yeah, David is one of the all time greats and is loved in Austin. It's just weird that so many musicians have to go overseas to make a living. James McMurtry does the same thing. He has a standing gig at the Continental Club if he's in town and once again, I've seen him a handful of times. They tour the US and have well attended shows but they draw the bigger crowds overseas much of the time. At least that how it seems to me. I don't tour with them so I can't say for sure and the artist might tell me it's not like that. But David Grissom should be a household name! He is just so fucking good! David put 20 years developing the PRS McCarty which transitioned into his signature PRS DGT model. 10 of those 20 years was spent gathering feedback and input from other players. 40 different pickup combinations were tested to get where they are today.🇺🇸🎸
Great show, glad I found this, such a great player. Love the jazzy runs on "Skimming The Surface" especially. I'm the lucky owner of a DGT - 2011 in Yellow Tiger (just like that one except with birds) and it's an awesome guitar. Just wish I had his fingers! ;)

my thoughts exactly!...so unknown, but should be a household word in the world for the talent he possesses. Some of the tastiest, nastiest, sweet mix of riffs in a bluesy, but fusion-y original creative stew...I love this guy!
I always loved the guitar playing on the Storyville records. I feel like an idiot for not having looked up the members before today. David Grissom definitely one of my new favorites. This should have a million views.

Grissom has an eclectic playing style. He’s the most interesting player I’ve come across in awhile, and his rhythm sections are top notch.
Ticks all the boxes for me- plays with a real swagger and swing and makes it all his own- fabulous!
