I guess it is quite randomly asking but do anybody know of a good place to stream newly released series online?
@Lyle Brendan flixportal :P
@Casen Ace thanks, signed up and it seems like a nice service :) Appreciate it!!
@Lyle Brendan no problem :)
THIS IS SUCH A GREAT VIDEO TO WATCH BECAUSE OF THE GREAT OLD CAMPERS THAT HAD MORE CLASS THEN WHAT WE HAVE OUT NOW DAYS!! WE HAVE MORE CONVIENCES NOW BUT NOT THE CLASS THAT WAS OUT THERE IN DAYS PAST. YOU HAVE TO WATCH JUST FOR THR NOSTALGIA!!!!
All the Old Campers are cool. I own, drive and Live as a Nomad in a 1989 MARATHON Class C on a E350 7.5 liter 460cid V8 with 116,600 Odo Miles.
(33 years Old "TANK" still running on it's Original Drive Train and equipment) LONG LIVE OLD CAMPERS..!!! My favorite Oldie?? Number 14.
Totally amazing campers. They are all unique in their own way
The "Highway Palace" is a piece of work I could have fun in, it looks like a home inside, and outside . . . it's got an "Australian outback" persona all over it! Thanks Cassie, and the entire crew!!
The biggest thing that separates roughing it from camping, a bathroom 😊
SO true nowadays😀
THIS VIDEO IS JUST TOO COOL! LOVE THESE OLD CAMPERS AND CANT SEE IF THE PRESENT CAMPERS ARE ANY BETTER, JUST MORE EXPENSIVE!!
The carters steam fair is a local business to me they come to my town every summer its crazy their caravan has appeared on this I've seen it in real life its amazing!
I really miss my mom's cosy coach so well built, I saw a site abut 7,8 years ago where a gentleman restored one that had been sitting for years and did a fabulous Reno on it, thanks for posting these vintage gems.
15 - What a giant!
13 - Buck Rogers goes on vacation!
12 - True "Old school!"
10 - Beautiful!
8 - Really cool!
7 - This entry was really well done.
6/5 - Pass!
4 - Love it!
3 - I want it...
1 - The head nod and tip of the hat to the Klingon Battle Cruiser!
13 was my favorite, too bad nothing like this would be offered these days. Some of these old designs were so classic. As cars have become more and more fuel efficient, they've grown to look the same. Great video!
Great comments.
Wow what amazing history of all this campers etc
Thanks, enjoyed your video!
I had a '53 Airstream & a '53 Ideal trailer years ago, lived in them both, had em parked together on a gorgeous property in the Santa Cruz mountains. Fond memories💕
Amazing video guys!!! My oh my that west craft is gorgeous!!
It sure was fun looking at those old campers!!
You should have included the VW Beetle trailer that connected to the roof of the bug.
Exceptionally well done video! Always interesting to see where our current, modern things evolved from!
What a wonderful trip back in time 😀
you can't beat a 32' Airstream for luxury and function, all the ''Tiny Houses'' you see being built on trailer chassis are schlock, spend the $60K and buy a decent caravan to enjoy instead of having to cut corners and downsize. Besides, there are no restrictions on RV storage and use, there are Urban Campgrounds that profive all the services.
Luv "The Launched in France" camper and "The Dr." In camper!
i was born in a palace royal in 1949. mom, dad, and my older brother lived in it in my grandparents back yard.
All great and absolutely character abounds! As always great video!
I owned the #1 Rectrans Discoverer new in 71. At 55 MPH it would get 12 MPG but went way down at 70. It drove great.
What's with the "It only has 2 beds" or "Unfortunately it only houses double beds"? That was the best part, I pulled 1 of the beds out on my Vintage.
Hello Scott Fuller, thanks for the feedback! I guess some people like more. Great that you can do with less.
They were all pretty cool and also random Rhode island license plate at 4:01 was pretty cool
Wow,never seen that 76,77,Blazer factory add -on.
these vintage campers are awesome! my frends have an old camper that looks like new and is 40 years old! love to see these videos!!!!
These are so cool💞. I met a nice woman on June 19 2018 that was a beautiful Red Head and she was so kind to me she told me she lived in an old rv motor home. When I saw this made me think of her. Hope she still drinking her pumpkin coffee.
I like all the RVs in this video. I think they all have good ideas. *My* favourite RV designs are the Australian designed 1949 Highway Palace (15), the 1950 Westcraft Coronado (10), 1948 Palace Royal (8), the Propert Folding Caravan (2) and finally, the Rectrans Discover (1). :)
I love the CJ Jeep Camperd...I had a 79 CJ hardtop with a 6 cylinder 3 speed, it was an awsome get away vehicle.
Oh man - stunning! I'd buy one of those over a modern camper any day! *daydreams*
Number 1 looks like a blown up Dodge van......certainly you wouldn't forget it if you seen one !!
I can dig it!
I love that Simi truck camper number 15
I love all of them totally mind-blowing
Thank you
love the quilts
@ 4:39 I believe a reversed color scheme more cream than green, would have looked better, being towed by that beautiful sedan .
This video did take me back. My dad bought a 1941 Kozy Coach from the neighbor lady before I was born in 1951. It had a white gas range, and ice box and a little oil stove beside the front door. The front was pointed to the hitch and you opened a 6" round port to get to the jack screw. The interior was mint with gold mahogany and original linoleum and fake white leather upholstery. It also sported a one-piece steel roof. All of this made up the two tons of weight wet, carried by only a single axle! It belonged in a museum, but I don't know where it went when he died in '86.
Keith Lincicum Thank you! Never heard of the 1941 Kozy Coach! Looked it up on YT but unfortunately found only a vid of the exterior . Black and red it was, looked beautiful! I will google the interior, you made me curious!
@@maggieleroy3184 Thank you Maggie. Essentially all 22 feet of it was wood to the exterior made of a painted glossy Masonite fiberboard. The only steel parts were the heavy frame, bumper, roof, the trunk lid, the main door, widows and frames, and the tapered "nose" down to the coupler. They were built in Kalamazoo Michigan. Keith.
Keith Lincicum I found some pictures of a completely restored Kozy Coach 1941 interior on the internet. It is beautiful and definitely my favorite! The one I found was auctioned off by Sotheby's Santa Monica in 2017 for $99.000! I think that is the same one as mentioned in the you tube video, red/black exterior. I also found some original adds. Wish I could go back in time I would buy one immediately! Take care Maggie.
Hey..the carnival is back in town ! 🎪⛺🎠🎢🎡
Good morning and great camping video and happy New year bye☺
Same to you thank you!
Would love to see more creativity in new models
I don't know where you find all this information. It's amazing. I even like the commercials. The Luci, used to draw anything. Cool.
I think that 76 Chalet Camper on a Blazer looks so natural or normal looking !
I'd love to have that truck
1 looks really handy and 💯great!
I see RAR 129 at shows here in South Australia regularly. Even has a massive bathroom with a bathtub sunk into the floor. Bedroom at rear, kitchen at the front with a booth style dining table up above the turntable. Bloody beautiful build.
Supercool.
In case anyone is wondering--the first trailer shown (from Australia) has what appears to be a 1939 Fargo tractor--Fargo was the name Dodge put on its export trucks
And I believe it still exists in the Barossa Valley in South Australia, where it's now permanently set up on site with other antique caravans and campers and can be rented out for holidays with a difference.
great video !
Thank you for making this cool video of these classic campers. I bought a 1964 Shasta camper back in 1990 I bought it off the original owner they took very good care of it I paid $800.00 for it today in 2019 something like that in worse condition would cost thousands of filler I seen them asking 3,000 for the same thing I owned.
We have a 72 Shasta Compact=brought it from Michigan to CA. Paid 400.00 for it and rehabbed it. Very cute but nobody in my family feels the same. No taste. LOL
There is a Rectrans Explorer in a salvage yard here in north central Texas! Totally Cool!
They could probably start making and selling the Propert Folder today. If the price was right, it would take over the teardrop and mini-camper market. I'd be interested for sure.
Cool
Dec. 27, 2018----Thanks for the video. As to the 2nd camper shown, remember seeing a variation of it which was made for some lady movie star while at some filming location. Sorry, don't remember any more about it. That beefy, military truck reminds me of a civilianized Unimog. Got some car buffs in the modeling club, will tell them about this video as some are into scratch building. And I'm getting back into modeling, going for zombie/apocalypse dioramas and the Unimog one would look great in one. Also want to get into 3D printing next year and be interesting to find plans for those shown.
Pretty cool!! Thanx!!;) Peace!!
Still see a few of number 2 around now every so often in town. Mum said hello Mr Reacher thank you very interesting (stone)
FEW?????? Aren't you lucky now. What have you been smoking?
Some of those older campers are still way ahead of anything new in regards to " shiny and sleek "!!!
You should add the Hymer 900 to this list. Perhaps the rarest production motorhome in the World and certainly one of the coolest
I have seen No.2 at the Powerhouse Museum annex at Castlehill in Sydney, Australia. A lot of folding CamperTrailers exist in Australia
Nice
GREAT VIDEO!! I AM SURE I LOVED THESE OLD CAMPERS BECAUSE OF MY AGE BUT IF ANY ONE GETS A CHANCE TO GO THRU A FEW O THE OLDIES THEY WILL UNDERSTAND WITH A LOOK INSIDE AND SEE WHAT WE GOT FOR OUR MONEY.
Happy New Years and a Thumbs Up for you.
Thank you same to you!
@@mindseyedesign You are welcome.
# 10, I lived in one in 1963.
There is one motorhome I did not see here,it sold well for the 5 years of production,,,The GMC Motorhome 1973-78,,one memorable craftmanship
Hey when I was a kid we had a kangaroo camper. It sat on the back tailgate of a station wagon and attached to the roof. It opened up like an Acordian in the back and you could sleep on a bed on top and in the station wagon as well. It had a small kitchenette. One major problem it was very heavy and used to blow out sidewalks of tires.
Good job!
Next time take a look at the Pierce Arrow camper in the Nethercutt Museum, Los Angeles CA. was made to go with the matching 36? Pierce Arrow Sedan.
Thank you we will!
14!
My first camper war an empty refrigerator cardboard box duct taped down to the bed of my pick up truck. Though short on amenities, it was very economical.
#13 and #7 is what I want.
Muito Bom!!!
I know someone with a blazer camper. And he drives it every day to work.
That Jeep camper looks super cool! Great video, Happy New Year!!
Thank you! Happy Holiday's.
Happy New Year!
That Jeep camper is amazing!
Yes.. I have a 2008 wrangler and i have a hard time pulling much. That camper is what i need
@@Franaflyby what you really need is a 79 jeep CJ 7 like I had...big 4.0 inline 6 and a manual transmission. That Jeep would pull a tree stump.
Wow
“Backwards turn backwards oh time in thy flight”
- Elizabeth Akers Allen
My favorite is #11
What, no Airstream? It was the Cadillac of campers back in the day. There are STILL groups of aficionados that take trips and vacations together to this day. The highlight of these trips is using their vintage Airstreams.
Covered several times in previous videos. If this was our only camper video you would have a good point. Thanks for watching!
I dont think the Airstream would really fit in with this video. These were all odd balls or very low production that very few people have ever seen or heard of. The Airstream has to be the most recognizable campers there is.
The last one, the Discoverer was the first motor home I had ever seen. I was a teenager back then and I thought it was something that NASA had designed due to the overall look which included the small triangular windows in the front. I think it still looks cool today.
Wow cool! I really like how creative they were with the designs. Today's campers look basic in comparison. The discoverer definitely turned heads and had character.
Thanks for watching! 👍
As of today, 12/27/2018, there is a seller on craigslist in pittsburgh, pa selling 3 discoverer 25’s for $7500... they have been on there for about 3 months now... pittsburgh.craigslist.org/rvs/d/monaca-3-discoverer-25-motorhomes/6778353338.html
@Reacher MED Seems safe to me.
Tuyệt Vòi lắm 🎉🎉🎉❤❤
6:15 - What happened here ? Good video, beautiful trucks, cars and campers 🧐
Super video!!!
For 5, you mentioned the roof of the blazer was cut away. No need to cut it since for older blazers, the top was made to come off.
@Reacher MED Actually that practice is pretty common for custom vehicles. For example, most new custom vans are sent incomplete, especially on the inside, to the company that does the customization. The van would barely have a drivers seat, knowing most everything will be replaced. Vehicles done this way are cheaper than off a lot since both some parts and labor are skipped that would be a waste.
No airstream and no GMC. Both includes some of finest camper/coaches ever made
Ever consider this isnt our only camper video?
Gary Chambers screw
Great video. Ever come across a Cromwell Cruiser ? My Dad's trailer company in the 40's.
I'll have to check that sounds very familiar. If we haven't had it in a vid maybe we can find a spot for it.
i've seen the royal windsor its a beautiful wagon built for ronnie smart, billy smart's son of billy smarts circus fame its now owned by showman joby carter of carters steam fair
Good job ! 🚐💨 👏
Thank you!
Thank you for including a couple of British ones. 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧. Although I’m not sure just what a ‘3-way fridge’ is!
The 3 way fridge was powered by propane/12 volt Battery/ and of course, blocks of ice, lol. I hope this helps. ;>)
Bobby Tucker - Oh I see. Thank you very much.
Atheist Orphan w
Barbara Arbeiter - X? (Your turn).
fridge is power by propane, 12 volts, 110 ac or not powered by putting in a block of ice ...
At 2:00 it looks like Shirley Temple when she was a child star!
jesus saves
Is that a stranded Jeep rig after the Blazer segment @ 6:13 ?
Give Molly a "Milk-bone", or whatever her treat is for me . . . and then a nice scratch on the belly, got to keep her happy! ;-)
Pets add the loving touches to videos like these.
Actually, I couldn't choose a favorite, as they all were "purpose built", #8 stands out from the rest because of the town it was built in, Flint, Michigan, I grew up in Flint but, I never heard of Flint being the host of an RV manufacturer. I didn't hear what year it was built nor the year the last one was built. My family moved to Flint from Arkansas when I was 3 years old, that was in 1951. I am an avid outdoors man, if I might add. Thank's for sharing another great video, I look forward to seeing them.
1948 Palace. I grew up in Flint and dont remember either, but it is 20 years before my time. I do remember the Palace Gardens Bar.
@@hornhuntermed674,
Palace Gardens bar built a reputation of "Hog Heaven", in the late '70s, lol. I believe it still operates at Hemphill & Dort hwy. I don't drink anymore so I don't have any reason to go there.
No, not open anymore. Closed it many years ago.
Palace Gardens has been gone for years. I used to have lots of fun there @@BobbyTucker
@2:00 is that SHirley Temple?
good video
Thanks!
Who built the hand built #2 for 20 years? Was it a kit? Who patient it?
Any addition information would be helpful. Thanks.
That was soon voodoo yeah
1:58 Is that Shirley Temple?
what happened to Lucille balls camper?
Not bad for such a short video, however a few more minutes including info on the mechanical aspects, especially on the three pulled by commercial sized rigs would have been great! Just imagine the Doctor driving that old Ford camper all the way to Florida from N.Y.! Back when Rt 1 was the major route! At an average of what? 25-30 mph! That’s a total week on the road! But the best part would be able to get a good nights sleep just about anywhere along the way, not having to worry about regulation after regulation!
I was wondering if he had a driver, or drove it himself.
👍
Anyone else only come for the thumbnail?
I need the Royal Windsor, and a Crackerbox would fit it perfectly
Nope just you.
Thanks for watching! Just the thumbnail but it counts too! 😂
I love #15, but I had money to spend, I would buy #1....There is still one for sale....
How about the GMC MOTORHOME from 1972 to 1982. It also looked futuristic and is ahead of it time. A pneumatic self leveling rear suspension and a full house except fo a washer and dryer was intended to be a house o wheels. A rear queen size bed that turned into a rear sitting room, a full sized freezer and a front wheel drive taken from the Cadillac El Dorado, it was built by the GMC Motorcoach Division, the same area where buses where built. Because it had started to have many competitors, GM just dropped it. It had full headroom and could lower the rear suspension to make an easy entrance.
Good one, we included it already in a previous video.
👍👍👍
