I wonder if Story 2 is a case of malicious compliance, like the doctor told the receptionist she could only make appointments via phone call and wouldn't listen to her telling him that people often make them in person, so she shrugged and went along with it. At least I hope that's the reason instead of her being that weird.
I believe she needs to go home and sleep.

Dr. appointment story. My mom’s doctor’s office you actually had to call to make an appointment. The receptionist couldn’t make one. They were only there to check you in, help new patients fill out forms, and pull patient records. You had to call a third party to make an appointment.
Story one
Dogs aren't actually colour blind...it's just that they only have 2 different colour cones; not the three that humans have.
I was related an incident where a woman poured herself a drink from a two liter bottle of soda, took a drink, and immediately poured it down the drain. She then proceeded to pour herself another. When questioned why, she explained that the first drink was flat and she thought maybe there would be more fizz further down the bottle.
Well, by her logic, wouldn’t the fizz be closer to the top? Why would she think it’s lower?

When I started a job, the store manager showed me around and would tell me rules as we went. Break room: We sometimes have free food for employees. Label your food or someone might think it is free food. Don't eat food that has someone's name on it.
Trash room: Don't climb into the trash compactor. If someone else climbs into the trash compactor, do not lower the safety gate and push the button that turns it on.
Me: Has anyone actually done that?!
Manager: No comment.
The vacuum of soace: I remember a teacher cutting me off while I was talking about a Star Wars theory. My theory is that you don't hear the lasers in space, but rather a sensor alarm from radiation the weapons create.
I was in the middle of talking about hearing the particles translated as a sound part of the theory before I could mention the sensor when she cut me off.

worked at a local grocery store in HS and College stocking shelves.
We had a good crew that became very close and would take breaks together and bullshit in the break room.
We once had a new guy who during one of our back and forths said Hurricane Katrina was President Bush’s fault because “he could have shot a missile at it or something”, which sent me into hysterics until he continued defending that thesis… and then I realized he was serious.
That doctor office receptionist has a problem with her software.
I went to college in Boston in the late 1970's. Every now and then, I'd make a short drive up to NH. Just at the border, there's an exit ramp and just past that, a sign that reads "No backing up". Indeed, I have seen drivers backing up to an exit ramp several times and each of those times it
Several years back I had a coworker explain his take on "the speed of money," which, amazingly, had absolutely nothing to do with finance, economics, banking, etc..
I think the American education system likely is failing the American people, but at the same time, the number of people in the world who are well and truly just naturally stupid is absolutely staggering.

My work once had a promotion for environmental awareness and gave out coupons for a free reusable bag. I had been giving them out all day when a lady gives me a coupon and I give her a bag just like everyone else. She keeps looking at me and I asked if she needed anything else. She said, "Yeah, can I get a bag for this?" My jaw nearly hit the floor. I wordlessly gave her the PLASTIC bag but in my head I was thinking, "I think you're missing the point."

My ex told me my hamster didn't have a brain because brains only come in human sizes so an animal that small can't have a brain. He got very upset when I and a friend tried to tell him otherwise. His anger only made us laugh at his stupidity which of course made him even more angry.

Story 20 reminded me of another story where someone said one time their grandmother was inside and looked at a window. Saw her reflection and waved thinking it was her twin outside.

The space rock being a tape recorder is actually fairly logical if you're just learning about space for the first time. The teacher probably said something like "Sound waves cannot propagate through a vacuum, only matter" so she assumed that the sound waves emitted into a rock would simply chill there until they touched something they could propagate into. Sure we may know that's not how it works, but it's really not the dumbest thing to assume if you're new to these concepts.
Story 2 is unbelievable
2:20 i get doing things a certain way, but that's like having an hour wait at a restaurant that's completely empty. Which is actually my story. I went to a restaurant that had 2 tables occupied and said my family and i would have to wait a half hour. It's not one of those restaurants with 3 tables either, they had like 50 tables open. That's not the only story we have either. They actually had to sell a few years ago and a similar place not to far away is doing a lot better despite being almost the same.
Found a way to make these stories a little more fun. Aliens. They’re trying to impersonate humans but not doing well due to incomplete/outdated data. Can’t follow a basic label? Still learning human language. Expect tech to do strange, magical things? Alien tech is way ahead of us.
Story 16 reminds me of a classmate. She couldn’t see the questions on Kahoot because she forgot her contacts and moving desks apparently wouldn’t help. I had to tell her to just pick one of the options when she couldn’t read the question. At the last second before the time ran out, I convinced her and she got it right. I honestly thought most people would know that 1/4 chance of being right is better than 0, since if you don’t answer, you get it wrong.
Happens with my sister from time to time but the biggest one was pretty much that she wanted to keep her distance from me because she didn’t want me to catch her pollen allergies. Dumbfounded because she at this point is in her twenties so i had to explain that allergies aren’t contagious to which she says “oh really?! I thought people got sick being around people with allergies” i told her “yeah people can still get sick from other people having allergies” she replies “but you just said allergies aren’t contagious” even more dumbfounded i find myself explaining to my adult sister that allergies aren’t contagious but all the bacteria and germs in and on people are, hence the importance to cover your nose and mouth when sneezing and coughing. A few days later she has no more allergies but is coughing without covering her mouth.
i tell her to please cover her mouth but we get into an argument because she’s ignoring me and she yells out “why do i have to cover my mouth?! I don’t have allergies and i’m not sick!”
At this point i proceeded to tell her that she has done and said a lot of stupid things but that the allergies and germs thing takes the cake while calling her a dumbass. Our mom walks in to intervene as at this point we’ve been going at it for about 10 minutes then we both explain the situation and our mom laugh her ass off and looks at my sister and says “you really are dumb sometimes but this is you’re worst one so far”
It’s been seven years since then and it thankfully has not been topped
TL;DR sister thought pollen allergies were contagious and that you couldn’t get people sick from coughing and sneezing unless you were sick
2nd story would have made my brain just full stop

I have one; someone asked me at work how can tell the difference between reading Korean and Chinese... I was like "Because I can read one of them, and the other one I can't."
I then asked him "How can you tell the difference between Russian and English?"
He doesn't speak Russian. I could see the gears turning in his head, and he goes "Ohhhhh... That makes sense."
This guy was a prick, too, so it made it even better.

Story 2-there is a malady where people can’t recognize faces. They don’t recognize loved ones and are constantly being introduced to someone they’ve known all their lives. This could have been that.
Storytelling might have happened in Pennsylvania. Sounds like something my Grandma did do.

To be fair with the nurse at the doctor's office It's probably some weird corporate thing where they are only allowed to take appointments over the phone or something. You'd be surprised how many doctors offices do goofy crap like that. And if she's working under a particularly pissy supervisor I could understand her wanting to basically make no exceptions to that rule
Sounds like she's either a new hire trying to do everything perfectly by the books or someone working under a very strict supervisor that gets mad at her if she doesn't follow this exact set of rules

I love your idea about the Rufus rugs but every single design you showed is a trademarked and copyrighted designs....I highly doubt you have paid for the rights to use these designs. So this is just me sayong be careful, there are some companies like Disney, and especially sports entities that are feral when taking down infringement, they can and will seek legal action and destroy you without a bat or an eyelash....
