I couldn’t agree more Neil is def the GOAT and Carter is right there !! I don’t now why or how DMB is so underrated I think the are the best musicians in one band ever and the music is life changing ! And I agree about listener supported I would also add Central Park live
Carter is truly ambidextrous, giving him some very rare abilities as a drummer. Also note where he holds the sticks with a very relaxed grip at the very butt end, adding an additional 4"ish inches to his reach, giving him relaxed, effortless speed throughout the entire kit. The reduction in bounce-back from holding the stick at the butt end makes very clean, defined ghost notes rather than buzz notes, which he uses on nearly every instrument in the kit, not just the snare. He is by far the most unique and unconventional of my list of favorite drummers.
You should see him do those fills leading back into the verses live! He chews bubble gum while he plays, and blows GIANT pink bubbles as he’s effortlessly moving through his kit!

So funny how you mention DMB never took off internationally, I just had that conversation with a friend of mine from UK. He lived in the States for high school, and couldn't escape DMB. Happy to say we converted him to a huge DMB fan! They were a behemoth here in the States for 20 some years,. Dave often refers to him as "the engine" that makes the band run. This video really shows us why.
