In today's video we will be taking a look at the slow burning Miyoo A30...it had a difficult start on release but I think now it's definitely a contender in the retro handheld space.
yes it's not the most powerful, yes it''s a small handheld...but I feel this is one of the best micro handhelds out there at this point in time.

I just got a Miyoo A30 and absolutely love it. I think they have packed so many things and games into a small handheld device. Great review and your details are very helpful.

How to search a game?
Finally someone with the Grey model. Best color :)) I ordered a grey too but the gee dang seller got me a black and white one...

I think I share the same opinions as you overall. Form factor is great, love the feel although mine came with a couple of issues notably the D-Pad up direction sometimes not registering (gotta push it hard) and the overall mushy feel and pivot-less D-Pad you pointed out and I feel like the ABXY buttons are too raised up. My screen was also not flush with the device, it was not sticking onto the upper body part so there's a small gap which is a bit annoying + a squeaky joystick so yeah, definitely some build quality complaints here and there but the screen is beautiful as you noted, the speaker is decent and the other buttons feel great. I might order another one that is hopefully grey this time around but I'm not sure because of the D-Pad feel... Maybe I'll just get a Miyoo Mini Plus instead (I gave away mine but miss it). But overall for 35$ on Aliexpress it's really good.
Also definitely try Spruce OS, best CFW for it, hands down. Absolutely love it :))

Did they vastly improve the stock firmware on these? The performance shown in this video seems to be way higher than a lot of videos I saw around the A30's release. Picked up one for $30usd/$27eur a few days ago and waiting on it to arrive.
@@Eva.Aurora yes mine shipped with the updated firmware and it's not powerful but definitely running better than day one release.

Mine came with some problem out of the box and would not load a single rom for any system. There was an SD card so it wasn't that. I didn't feel like troubleshooting so I sent it back and got an RG35XX SP. I may try the A30 again. I did like the feel of it
Hate it when that happens and it happens to me I got the Anbernic ARC d and the Anbernic 556 and both just stopped working it dose happen sadly, but if you can get one again am sure it will be fine man. And it dose feel good.
@SonicLoveEmulation do you have the ambernic 28xx? Which do you prefer?

Love the look of this but at the moment I can't see me moving away from the RG35XX SP. I can only see me buying another handheld if they release an SP successor. Great vid 👍

@SonicLoveEmulation 100%. I love how portable this and the rg28 look but the SP is plenty pocketable, and no worries about damaging the screen lol, plus bigger screen

Just got mine and loving it. My screen isn't quite straight though and I can't tell if yours is the same. Is there a black wedge along the top edge? Right hand side of the screen slightly lower? I'm considering opening mine up to adjust it.

@@mauriciogaytangarcia5543 you do have limitations with only one analog stick sadly in n64 in general for most games but I found it still playable

Absolutely awesome game, definite worth checking out if you are in to fighting games.
It's literally a street fighter clone. Still a great game regardless.

@@SonicLoveEmulation had it a over a week now, but after 2 days the faceplate was lifting off, the A and B had rubbed off, contacted AliExpress got half money back, so can't complain, just like to play more of N64,PSP and Dreamcast so have the 35xx h coming next week. As I do find this screen just that little to small for a 65 year old 😊
psp aspect ratio is wrong!
