“When a MCU movie comes out people wonder if this will finally be the bad one, when a DCEU movie comes out people hope that this will finally be the good one” so true it hurts
@@jaderabbit898 It cant fail with just one movie. Plus it depends what you mean by 'fail'. It's gonna make a billion dollars. Also, it got better reviews than Aquaman. :)
And this was year, the year that a DCEU movie was better than an MCU one, I haven’t seen Shazam or Captain Marvel but I’ve seen the reviews, and endgame
wait really? i thought captain marvel did bad lol. sheesh didn't know it made that much money. because of like the critics and stuff I thought it was a bad movie for MCU
How Marvel does films: See's a franchise failing (the Thor series) and saves it by rebooting it with a new director (Taika Wahiti) and a new refreshing tone. How DC does films: See's a franchise failing (its entire cinematic universe) and doesn't do anything. Keeps same shit director on (Zach Snyder) and constantly goes with the same annoying and pretentious dark tone. It really doesn't take a genius to see where Marvel is going right and DC is going wrong with their films.
They were also very fortunate to work with talented actors like RDJ and directors. The first Ironman movie's original scripts had issues. But yes taking their time was key!
Frankly, I think hiring Zack Snyder - known for dark movies like Watchmen or 300 - and let him create a movie about optimistic light hopeful boyscout hero was HUGE risk. :D
Hello I'm from the future. You're not gonna wanna hear about what Thor: Ragnarok did to Justice League XD EDIT: You're not gonna wanna hear about what Black Panther did to Justice League either
DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED on what Ant man & the wasp might do either. im probably on the minatory in this, but im *slightly* more excited about the new ant man movie than infinity war.
I just rewatched Iron Man and not only does it have a better origin than any DCEU film, the characters have actual emotion, the story doesn’t have any continuity issues and the CGI is better than any of the DCEU. The problem is the DCEU is half assed attempt to make money on the characters names. The studio doesn’t give a damn about the DCEU (just look at they handled Suicide Squad) If they want to compete with Marvel they’ll have to restart the universe.
Chris Tso no the unoverse its perfect marvel fanboy and its a known fact iron man was not onw of the coolest marvel movies and dc make muuch better tv shows animes and shows and animations than marvel and they started with bettet movies than they made in past they will made more movies like wonder woman, wonder eiman kicked a huge number of matvel movies the movie has a procent of 97% good tomatoes (fresh tomatoes its how good was it) and iron man have 90% so shut up
Can you please fix your spelling and grammar? I couldn't tell what you're saying. Also, you've included the shows while Iron Man was just a movie. TV shows and animations can have great story and characters because they have more time for story arcs, character growth and more. Iron Man is a film with a time frame of less than 2 hours, and yet it somehow delivered great plot and great characters with emotions. Next, you've mentioned Wonder Woman as if it was better than Iron Man. You do realize that Iron Man was an older film and that it was made with a studio that wasn't as technologically advanced before. In comparison to Wonder Woman that was made recently and had the graphics necessary to show you all these explosions and graphics. Of course Wonder Woman would be better now. Not only because of the graphics but also because of its added social commentary- you know, about feminism. Not saying that its a bad thing but I'm just saying that it would be why people like it. The same goes for Black Panther. TL;DR: Think before you comment so you won't embarrass yourself. By the way, I'm a fan for both franchises and I'm not biased to either film. It's just that the way you type says a lot about the logic you've put into what you wrote.
My nephew his 7 yeah I asked him who’s your favourite superhero? Not batman, not superman, not hulk, not any of the x-men, not spider man. He said captain America!! Cap America !! And were from the uk 🇬🇧 how crazy is that I didn’t even like cap America when I was 7 and I read the comics 😕 show what marvel did
Of course, the rivalry is based on characters, powers and stories; it excludes the movies. Fans of the comics want all comic movies to succeed. When they compete to impress us they raise the bar and expand the genre. We get more comic based movies rather than romantic comedies or lost-in-space comedies. Which makes it so frustrating that Batman & Superman (between the two) are sitting on 150 years of stories yet to be updated and translated to modern cinema.
"Which makes it so frustrating that Batman & Superman (between the two) are sitting on 150 years of stories yet to be updated and translated to modern cinema." You don't think The Dark Knight trilogy did just that? DC's films have been great, just not of late. Superman (1978) was the first great superhero film that started it all. Then the Batman films. And TDK trilogy (at least the first two films) were great. In fact, TDK is still highly regarded as one of the best comic book films to date.
+Toomas Mittens suicide squad is a good film it just needed the script to involve the joker some more, that's the only thing, everyone was hoping for some joker action.
No you don’t. The marvel model is not the only way to do it. It’s just the only one casuals except because it’s what marvel did and it worked. There are multiple ways and multiple styles to film.
eric kosecki the way dceu did it was really bad, but if you enjoy those terrible films then have fun watching them while i will be watching films that don't suck
if he's not careful with justice league, we could be seeing snyder going through an m. night shyamalan phase haha, for real though i liked mos, watchmen, 300, but bvs didn't cut it for me
+odlanra serdna try the ultimate cut of BvS, it's better, I loved man of steel but theatrical cut of BvS wasn't good IMO, but the ultimate cut was better
Michael Roman i have as of late. i agree it is better for sure. i just wanted it to be at an epic level, and although the ultimate is what we all should have seen. it's still a less then epic movie for me. i hope justice league will be much better
Michael Roman If we have to wait for the 4 hour ultimate cut to like a movie that Snyder makes then he should stop fucking making 4 hour movies and do mini-series.
Is it any surprise the only good movie in the DCEU is Wonder Woman? Imagine that, an origin story than remains faithful to the character was well received. DC needs to stop rushing things and introduce their characters to the audience before shoving them all in a movie.
Meh, it had a weak villain. 95% of Marvel movies also have shitty villains. The point still stands that the best movie up to this point has been an origin story. Maybe if they introduced everyone and fleshed them out in their own movies before throwing them in a ensemble movie they'd have more screen time to tell better stories. You know, kinda like Marvel did.
More like 70% roughly, Marvel has 23 primary and secondary villains and 8 great ones (Hela, Ego, Thanos, Loki, Klaue, Killmonger, Zemo and Vulture... but yeah, your point still stands, but the Marvel has bad villains bandwagon should stop, as 6/8 of the newest Marvel movies have a great villain
i am one of the biggest DC fanboys you will ever meet an even i take my hat off to the guy who made this video, people can sit there and call him a DC hater or a Marvel fanboy.. but he makes so many good points and is 100% honest and you know what fair play to him, i do agree with what he says.. great video dude 👍👍
Thank you Kevin. I will honestly say, I don't really like DC movieverse at this moment, or don't really care about it because it just failed to make me interesed. Failed to involve me. I would be happy if movies will become better, more enjoyable. I would really love that. Saddly now they are just kind of mehhh. Not saying bad, because a lot of them are very well made. its just they for some reason don't teach heart strings. Don't make me care for characters.
10:40 Zack Snyder only wants to create his own story, not what's based off comics. That's the same way I feel about Brian Singer and what he's done to the X-men.
Organized Chaos Productions Brian Singer does the same thing with the X-men. It's almost like he didn't even pay attention to pictures in the comics, like he heard from a third party on what the X-men are, and just went off of what he heard.
you see what fox has done with the xmen and the fantastic four. its a shame they need to give marvel their rights back so we can see wolverine in the avengers AS IT SHOULD BE and spiderman deadpool cameos AS IT SHOULD BE! we need spiderman captain america and wolverine in the same movie and i will not allow myself to die before that happens
Danny Malzahn X-men Apocalypse is at a 48% on RT'S🍅 Dr Strange is at a 90% and they both came out the same year! Now you guys are gonna tell me "RT'S🍅 don't mean shit" or "come up with your own opinion!" I'll admit Logan and DeadPool are great movies but that's it! It's not just RT'🍅, it's not just me! Alot of people think those movies suck, but I know you're about to defend it.
Marvel films have better producer and casting and marketing departments. Marvel films wouldn't make a marketing that spoil it's plot like "Gal Gadot is in this movie playing Wonder Woman" marketing while in said film (Batman v Superman), the characters played by Gal Gadot spends the majority of screen-time as a mysterious woman stalked by Bruce Wayne only to be revealed as Wonder Woman near the end.
bn3kr2 to be fair Universal likely has something to do with that, people often forget that Marvel Studios doesn’t actually have the film rights to the Hulk and that’s why all his appearances since The Incredible Hulk have been in crossovers.
Zack Snyder shouldn't be in control of DC movies. Any one who said that they think batman should be raped in prison shouldn't be making movies about him.
The real brilliance of Marvel is putting both Spider-Man (the most popular Marvel hero and a childhood fav of mine) and Black Panther (someone I didn't even know until Civil War and thought it had something to do with the activist group from the 70s) in Civil War, and making Black Panther TOTALLY outshine Spider-Man to me. Don't get me wrong Spider-Man was awesome and the most faithful adaptation yet, it Black Panther was amazing, a character I didn't even know becoming one of my favorites of the MCU. That's talent.
I think the reason Black Panther was so good in Civil War was because he was very important to the themes in that movie. He was the contrast to Iron Man and Zemo, showing what happened when you give up revenge. Spiderman just made for an awesome Cameo that didn't take up very much time.
@@petery6432 There's that too, but for me it was mostly how they portrayed the character. In a universe of quips and jokes he was serious and somber. He had a great fighting style, and he was a threat if he wanted to be. And they say a revenge tale is incredibly cliche, but there's a reason you see it so often, it works. You fully understood why he was going after Bucky, you just knew he didn't have the full picture. I didn't like his movie as much, it was okay, but they really did surprise me in Civil War.
Marvel took the biggest risk of all with the first Avengers movie. Call it formulaic film making but this stuff is hella entertaining and probably the greatest TV series i've ever seen.
I agree completely with your video except with one part. Being objective, DC sees Marvel as competition, but Marvel don't, at least not anymore. Marvel actually has more faith on DCs movies than DC itself. DC is going the safe route trying to just imitate Marvel and the Nolan trilogy but with no substance, and Marvel complied by clearly competing with (and smashing) BvS with CW. But Marvel real competitor is not DC, they are Pixar, Star Wars, Fox, even Harry Potter.
Are you stupid dc is going the safe route trying to imitate marvel?????? They had the idea of bvs.... Marvel after says ooooh shitt there doing something different lets do iron man vs captain america...... Then dc says fuck the safe marvel route shit lets do suicide squad.....
Wait for suicide squad im pretty sure its going to be amazing compare to all the marvel/ disney formula..... Okay maybe it wont be amazing for stupide people like you but it will at least be different and it will not try to be safe and copy marvel
rickychardzz They are imitating marvel on the whole cinematic universe thing. Safe route. They give their practically very first DCCU movie their two most popular and known characters so it can be a sure hit. Safe route After Deadpool and Guardians, Suicide Squad is their edgy interpretation of anti heroes. Safe route.
Dude, Suicide Squad was an MCU knock-off that had every problem you people have been bashing the MCU for yet you chose to give that movie a free pass because it's not Marvel. Fuck off with that mentality!
to me, the biggest problem with DCEU is characterization. Zack is constantly getting the characters wrong. Superman is suppose to be bright and hopeful while batman is dark and gritty. they have different tones. but in DCEU, both batman and superman are very similar. in the attempt to make darker movie to 'please the mature fans', he jeopardized the persona of the characters. Sure, when adapting a story, changes are needed but that is only for the story. the characterization has to be on point or else they wont be the same characters anymore. dont get me wrong. i'm not a marvel fan. im more DC than Marvel. I've read more DC comics, watch more of their shows and movies. So i really want to like BvS but i cant because its just felt so wrong.
He was working on Watchmen at the time, he was in the mindset of tearing down superheroes like Watchmen does. No, he didn't ruin the characters, he showed them at their best.
Gavin Singh it's ok, you have to read the comics and study the origins of the characters and their mythology to really get it. You also need to read into where the character is in their journey, hard to do for some. 😊
After reading lots of comments, i've reached the conclusion that most of the people that support "darker" movies have misconception of what "dark" means. A dark story is not about free suffering for everyone (it's obvious that Snyder is also into that mistake), a dark and/or mature story can even have comedy and happiness around the main plot and characters. A dark movie is dark not because of the atmosphere or because of the suffering some characters have to bear alone, but because the way the history develop itself and the coherence between that and the character's actions, when trying to show a cruel but true face of the world the best possible way. It is about sending a message, not about people suffering... i dont know how people cant take seriously the kind of stories where characters just suffer and suffer continuously. Call me a bastard, but when characters just suffer and there is no actual reason for that inside the script, it makes me laugh! i've laugh in horror movies, action movies, and psychological movies(specially these ones, they are just too pretentious). It's kind of ironic that they want to show someone suffering and all they show is pain, pain and pain with nothing to make contrast; when that happens, i cant help but think of it as a comedy... as i did with BvS. The explosion of the capitol, the Martha scene- i mean, they were hilarious! and that is because Snyder is just incapable of making a movie that doesn't take itself so seriously, that it's like watching a parody of an action movie.
Exactly. Too much grief, suffering and yaddy yaddy yadda makes everything that happens look artifical, unnatural. Gives a feeling that characters are trying to convince us that they have those emotions instead of actually having those emotions. Just look at Civil War or Winter Soldier. Those are very dark and gritty movies. But they still look realistical. Characters feel alive, their struggles feel natural and believable.
Civil War or Winter Soldier are dark movies but they also have funny & weird scenes like heroes trading quips or Ant-Man turning into Giant-Man. Those moments understandably pisses a lot of fanboys who want "darker" scenes like brooding heroes and lots of rain etc. What these edgelords don't get is that the humor & weirdness adds humanity & levity to these dark, gritty movies. They also build empathy between audience and the heroes, so when shit happens, the audience feel for the heroes. For example, Spider-Man. According to critics, in the comics, Peter Parker makes jokes as Spider-Man to release tension considering all the tragedies & bad luck he's been through. That's how the same works for the overall MCU.
Zedfinite exactly. You need the light moments to make the dark moments matter. They both go like Yin and Yang. If we go dark on dark on dark.....we are left with nothing.
Yep. dark moments should have a point. Not just be dark for the sake of being dark. Always doom and gloom is unrealistic and make no sense and thus most of times bring no connection with a wiewers
***** You dont have time for bullshit?? Then GTFO of here you Marvel fuckboy. SS was really good and fun, it had problems, but it was enjoyable and a solid movie. I dont care what a little bitch has to say about SS
kalilkash973 i agree. actually most dc movies are garbage. the only good thing they have is Batman that's why they keep going with it. super man sucks add a character and a movie (although man of steel wasnt to bad)but they keep trying to make a superman for whatever reason. lol anyways just thought I'd leave my opinion.
You know what's sad. I was more a DC fan when I was a kid than Marvel. I only liked Spider-man and the older X-men back then (didn't even know Iron man and cared little for Thor or Captain America, etc). And then the movies happened. And it's like DC never even bothered making the their movies better. Marvel is killing it because they know what the audience wanted... and I've grown to love their characters and finally invested my time learning about all I can with their superheroes.
At 4:33, pleeease tell me I'm not the only one who recognized the fan-made poster of Thor holding Loki instead of Jane Foster. (Which was also hilariously used by a theater in Shanghai). Clearly everyone knows what the *more interesting* love story is in the Thor franchise.
Prettyy much. Saddly at the moment DC just blows. I enjoyed Suicind Squad. WW, BvS. Nolan's Trilogy. They are ok. But I still can''t get myself to watch Man of steel or other DC movies. To me it kind of feels like a chore trying to watch a new DC movie or trying to rewatch others again. While with MCU I had no problems watching each of their movie at least 5 times, even those which were kind of meehhh to me, like IM movies, Antman, Kind of... Thor 2. I still have no problems watching them sometimes, not even talking about GOTG 2, Avengers (both of them), whole Cap's trilogy all of whom I watched already a dozen of times at least.
I would say not ever. Why? Well simple. Until they learn how to make movies "RIGHT" movies will flop and they will have difficulties finding money to fund a new ones. While Marvel knows how to make movies "RIGHT" which gives them money which in turn they put into making more and more high quality movies. It is like a spiral. It just Marvel's one points upward . DC's one points downward
surfitlive they are quantity because the rush their universe instead of making solo films they rushed JL and they hope just because they are famous no need to create films about them most heroes in the JL movie was one noted and had no development.
The desperation and regret for not creating a DCEU earlier shows in all their films up to this date. Whoever made the MCEU come to life during Iron Man 1 was ahead of his time and booted it up at the perfect time. Where people were in doubts about whether such a concept could ever work. It feels as if DC studios thinks they have no choice but to rush out as many inter-connecting stories as possible. But what they need to realize is the hype train long passed before they even began their own DCEU. Its not possible to be competitive that way, they missed their chance. Their only hope is to make honest-to-good movies about each individual hero, if they can, and build slow. Dont feel like you're in a rush. One good movie is worth more than 100s of bad ones.
You've said a lot of good stuff here my friend. You might appreciate this notion. In the late 90’s professional wrestling became more mainstream popular than ever before and its characters stretched across all aspects of the media. Many would say that the quality of sports entertainment reached its zenith during this period and has steadily declined ever since. This time frame was known as the Monday Night Wars where Vince MacMahon’s WWF fought against Ted Turner’s WCW for fan loyalty on a weekly basis. The vicious competition resulted in a constant stream of creative brilliance and ever evolving storylines and with complex personalities. Admittedly, there were also a number of creative failures and even more lawsuits. However & overall, the scales tipped towards greatness in this period of time. This was the best time to be a fan of wrestling; it was constantly getting better and you were more invested each week. It all came crashing down when the WCW folded and was bought by MacMahon: the beginning of the end. With nobody left to push them, the newly dubbed WWE no longer had to push boundaries or take risks. Status quo was all that they needed to provide; fans had nowhere else to go. There are many parallels to what is currently going on with DC and Marvel at the movies. If Warner does not step up their game and start taking their DC properties seriously, all comic fans will suffer. To any people who enjoyed Man of Steel and Batman v Superman, that’s fine. We do not wish to attack you. We just want you to know you would REALLY like the movies if they were made by a storyteller who understood the characters in this movie; specifically Superman & Clark Kent (yeah, btw, these are separate & distinct characters).
"To any people who enjoyed Man of Steel and Batman v Superman, that’s fine. We do not wish to attack you" Really? Then why are you attacking people who enjoyed the film in the comments section?
I just lost all respect left for Snyder after readng those quotes. I knew he had an unhealthy fetish with dark stories but actually saying stupid shit like Superman - a character that has been successful since before he was born - would be better by turning him into a fucking monster who rips his opponents to shreds? He has no idea who these characters are or why they are successful and only uses these movies to fullfill his emo-teenager fanfiction fantasies. I'm more of a Marvel-fan then a DC-fan, but I still like DC and want to see these characters faithfully adapted. DC already has Batman, it doesn't need to turn the other characters into Batman as well. That's also something I don't really like about Arrow.
If Marvel made their films the DC way: 1. Captain America: The First Avenger 2. Captain America: Civil War 3. Guardians of the Galaxy 4. Spider Man: Homecoming 5. The Avengers 6. Black Panther 7. Thor
Surfitlive. Exactly mah man)) With MCU movies even those which are meh to me I still rewatch them because they are part of the whole story, they expland the world. They keep the flow going.
4:37 On the Thor The Dark Worl poster........... isn't that supposed to be Jane Foster and not Loki in his arms.............??????? Or is my sleep deprived brain playing tricks on me????????? I need answears!!!!!!!!!!!
Captain America Civil War had a slow, but big build up based on the previous MCU movies. Batman v Superman had none of that so the conflict felt rushed.
1:40 seconds into your video and I have the answer. with Civil War, it was built up over a rather long period of time since the first avengers movie back in 2012 I believe if not correct me. but with Batman v Superman the tension between the two wasn't built up it just happened after general zod's attack (pretty sure I have his name spelled incorrectly) ironman and captain American have had a build up over two movies together the chaos between the movies also played a factor but with batman v superman its just man of steel batman v Superman it happened too fast. with civil war we waited years for it avengers winter soldier age of ultron civil war the four of those movies offered different chaotic events which closed in on their disagreement.
Shut up about buildup people (sry for being harsh... too many people are saying this) because people can go into a fight and have meaning without buildup... just have a well rounded movie
As much as I liked the dark night trilogy, and thought man if steel was pretty ok, I'm kinda glad Nolan left, he doesn't seem to me like the director who should be making movies based on all types of guys and girls in costumes. He's more into ultra realism and philosophical epics , not superhero movies .
I feel that's the reason he did well with Batman. Batman, by nature, is a very grounded character, which meant he could take in into a serious direction. I doubt that would work as well with most other Superheroes
ok Dc fanboy. That needs to be applied to Dc films. Cause everybody knows Dc films have sucked for years with only a few exceptions. But these Dc films sucked ass throughout the years as well as Marvel...... These Dc Films sucked Superman III Superman IV: The Quest For Peace Superman Returns Catwoman Joneh Hex Green Lantern V for Vendetta The History of Violence Batman & Robin Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice Suicide Squad These Marvel films sucked The Punisher Starring Dolph Lundren The Punisher Starring Thomas Jane The Punisher: War Zone Spider-man 3 The Amazing Spider-man 2 X-men: The Last Stand X-men Origins Wolverine X-men: Apocalypse Blade: Trinity Ang Lee`s The Hulk Fantastic 4 fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer DareDevil Elektra Ghost Rider So both comic book companies have shit movies but as of right now Marvel is on a winning streak. And is a known fact to have more hit films then Dc as of right now. Critics and audiences respond with their money and go see what they like. And by looking at the reception and box office it shows.
great video. one other thing I think that gets over looked in the BVS vs Civil War fight is that Civil War had been building for a long time. there was tension and emotion between Stark and Cap and it all came to ahead. BVS didn't have that level of emotion or involvement. we didn't know why these characters hated each other and we didn't care they were fighting. What were they even fighting about? Civil War was vastly superior in that regard, to me. again great vid.
He addressed that in the vid. He talked about the preparation the Marvel films had. If only Snyder would have put some care into the characters and their interactions
I know exactly why Superman and Batman are fighting each other. It is due to the events of Man of Steel (where the Kryptonians are attacking the earth) that Batman developed his paranoid assumption that Superman is a worldwide threat and he must be destroyed. As for Superman, he was blackmailed into fighting Batman by Lex Luthor because he took Martha hostage and he threatened to kill her unless Superman brings him "the head of the Bat".
yeah, but to go to the links he does just cause Supes leveled Metropolis seems a bit much. why kill the guy for that instead of meeting with him? I know, that would make a boring movie. but the animated series in the 90s got it right
Danny Malzahn so thats it "his batman" thats the problem with DC "his flash and funny so slap him in" "his joker and famous so slap him in" thats what you call bad writing thats usually given too typical villen but never to your MC.
Danny Malzahn also capt has no time to talk it out remember iron man is all about the accords meaning if he submit it to him they need to actually do an investigation plus everybody knew except capt that winter soldier is the terrorist and given the fact that capt has biases regarding his best friend he might sound like somebody making an excuse so that winter soldier can run away. i mean if they made a batman solo film first and develop his character better your argument would hold but they rushed things. unlike in marvel we know Iron man is the type to action first think about the consequence later which has shown to be good and bad in several movies while capt is all about saving his best friend making their actions understandable.
DC: well at least we have better TV shows Marvel: hold my Daredevil. DC: well at least we have better Videogames and animated movies Marvel: hold my Spiderman.
So here i am in 2018.... and DC is only hurting themselves now. Suicide Squad wasnt well recieved (but Margot Robbie as Harley quinn... MMN!!!) and justice league was a cringy mess :/ Meanwhile Avengers Infinity war comes out in a month and people are already losing their shit over it haha
DejaVoodooDoll They've already stated that not all of the deaths are temporary and 4 will fix nothing. Avengers 4 will give 3 more weight in some way by making someone's death permanent. To be fair, we don't even know how the CU works, they're still telling the story. This is a 10 comic book arc that's not finished yet, lol.
Batman V Superman upset the audience, because we the audience thought that the most 2 DC known characters will fight, FIGHT! But no they trick us. Batman and Superman fight a bit. Why the eff will they put Versus between Superman and Batman. If they didn't fight , only a bit .
Wow! I love this video! Thanks, Organized Chaos Productions. I really enjoyed your full detailed journalism on this matter. You even mentioned that ridiculous Randolph vs. Campea non-sense war. Nice touch.
@VENIEL BRETANA I dont know what made them think Marvels start was all that great. In Phase 1, we had two great movies, 2 ok movies and one terrible movie. In Phase 2, we had 2 great movies, 3 ok movies, and one absolutely trash movie. It was by Phase 3, that almost every film was solid. Marvel took their time and had a rough start but have their foot on the accelerator, DC tried to go 300 MPH and ended up crashing.
Its funny looking back on these VS videos now. 5 years at least ago, DC fanboys roared at how DCEU movies would rise up over MCU movies. Now.... Those DCEU fanboys have shut the fuck up after MCU finished thei Infinity Saga. MCU rules the movies, always has and always will.
I know in super hero movies you're suppose to have a suspension of disbelief. Like, nobody recognizes Superman when he's wearing glasses, or there's a talking raccoon that likes to steal body parts. I get that. However, the DCEU really pushes it for me. For instance, in BVS it was hinted that this was taking place sometime after the death of Jason Todd(one of the few parts of the movie I liked ), but then we see the Joker in Suicide Squad. Can anyone truly picture Jared Leto's Joker tricking both Batman and Jason? Also, and I speak from personal experience, I didn't even know that Jessie Eisenhower was Lex Luther until more than half way through the movie. I couldn't believe he was a cold calculating businessman. I understand that characters are often reinvented in comics, but they have to stay true to the character established. If Batman is mad at Superman for all the killings and destruction he caused, don't have Batman be a killer. If the world sees Superman as a threat and there's talk of taking him down, don't shoe horn into the next movie of 'a world without superman' like the first one didn't show people hating on him. I'm a huge fan of these characters- hell, I didn't get into Marvel until the Avengers came out- and I hate how they are portraying them. Even in the dark knight returns, which is obviously where the inspiration comes from, didn't show Bruce killing. At this point just scrap it and start over. We'll ignore these movies like everyone did Green Lantern.
4:39 All the movie posters are normal exempt for Thor: the dark world! It’s the version of the poster with Loki instead of Jane made by fans who shipped the two! 😂😂🤣🤣🤣
If you recall. They wanted Nolan's batman to be the beginning. Nolan said no. So they rebooted beginning with Green Latern. That failed. So they scrapped it. And rebooted again with MOS.
MOS is the third attempt at a DCEU. And after what I'm hearing about SS. It won't be the last. But I agree. WB dosnt understand the characters. It's like DC sold the rights to their characters to another studio that dosnt understand them. Ala, spiderman-Sony, Xmen-fox
Easy. Warner Brothers. But it is a big step forward what they have done with Geoff Johns; it shows they are placing greater respect in the creative minds of the DC source material. They had never previously considered these minds to be "Movie People".
I think they were busy with other movies. Last I look they invested in the Hobbit trilogy. They weren't interested in cbm until they realize Marvel/Disney is getting a huge profit from an established market.
Justice league is monumental disaster, and had the worst CGI in Superhero movie history. Even worse than Abomination from Incredible Hulk. The lip of Superman... That was laughable and pretty upsetting. Not to mention, the hype was overwhelming. And.. Movies that are over hyped, do not live up to the hype.
Dino Monzon dude u Mean DCEU ? yeah dceu totally sucks (Except WW). But DC films are great Tho like Constantine , Watchmen and TDK trilogy. Don't get me wrong , i know MCU iS far better than dceu.
sh - To be fair, I also liked Chris Reeve's Superman I & II, and the 1989 & 1995 Batman films. And Lynda Carter's Batman and Jackson Bostwick's Captain Marvel TV series.
sh - Forgot to point out- those DC shows & films that I do like is due to the fact that DC - then- never forgot about the Fun aspect of comic book movies. Ironically- especially in the case of Superman I & II- they had a very Marvel Comics feel.
I really enjoyed the amount of time and research you put into this video. Having most of the economic and studio news reports in one video worked great! Bravo sir!
1:32 Because before Civil War we had 2 movies of Iron Man and Captain America being on the same team, being at odds, but still being friends, so it gave their fight more weight and put it on a more emotional level, with Batman vs Superman, they were just thrown together all of a sudden without a previous team up or friendship so their fight had no weight or emotion to it, it was just like “Who cares?”
I always Kinda think Hulk and Wonder Woman get low balled... Far as I'm concerned there was three iconic superheroes in Batman vs Superman Batman Superman and WONDER WOMAN. Before X Men 2000, Hulk was the king of marvel live action with TV series and movies... TV series that lasted for 6 seasons and 3 hit TV movies in the 80s... Hulk has also had multiple comic series, plus A main member of the defenders...
Jamie Banner yes sir love this comment! For me I grew up with the idea of this. Dc big 3 Batman Superman Wonder Woman Marvel Big 3 Wolverine Spider-Man Hulk At least for me that’s what I saw
you know ten years ago if you asked me to state to superheros I probaly would have said hulk and spiderman but I didn't even read the comics and I was what 7
Agree. There was a time when Hulk was the poster boy for Marvel maybe before Spiderman... Because he was the first marvel character to have successful live action. In the 80s Spiderman and Hulk was kinda the main 2. And yeah Wonder Woman was the poster girl of superheroes for awhile she was up there with Batman and it's Superman at same time as Hulk. Way people lo-ball these two characters is strange...
If you want to fairly compare MCU and DCCU compare both of its first movie Iron man and Man of steel respectively. Consider the fact that everyone know superman but only comic book fans and reader know iron man, who was a second tier marvel superhero before the movie. Also it was the sixth superman movie overall whereas It was first movie for iron man. Now for comparision: iron man: budget 140 mil. box office: 318 mil domestic(ticket price inflation 380 mil) and 585 mil worldwide with audience rating of 91%. man of steel: budget 225 mil. box office: 291 mil domestic(ticket price inflation 298 mil) and 668 mil worldwide with audience rating of 75%. Clearly iron man is more successful than man of steel. and the worst thing is BvS couldn't even grossed more than deadpool in domestic and if deadpool would have released in china it would have outgrossed BvS in worldwide collection too.
I am from the future (2020) Captain Marvel is average DC made two good films in a row (Aquaman and shazam) Avengers Endgame is one of the best conclusions are seen Despite Shazam's success, DC is dead
respect that is all DC needs, respect for it source material, respect for the fans, and respect for the characters, and most def. firing zack snyder is a must, he is great in the fighting scenes, but he wants to turn DC characters into mortal kombat characters, in my opinion, flashpoint should be used as a soft reboot, keep what works (wonder woman, aquaman, probably shazam) erease everything, as keep going as it never happened.
agreed. but u may not agree with me, but BvS is the second. Daredevil was amazing though. Quite frankly puts the movies to shame. King Pin and Punisher were just bravo.
I actually think 'Civil War' was much, much better, but anyway: Is Punisher really a superhero? He's more of a villain, really - he goes into hospitals to shoot at injured criminals (he could have very easily killed innocent people there), and he hangs people from meat hooks(!), and he seems to be motivated mostly by murderous revenge instead of just wanting to do what's right. He has more in common with Kingpin than with Daredevil.
Who ia here after Marvel has finished their infinity saga & made five billion dollar movies (Black Panther, Infinity War, Captain Marvel, Endgame, Far from Home) in 2018 & '19 alone.. & Avengers Endgame is now the highest grossing film of all time. I guess DCEU is now dead
“When a MCU movie comes out people wonder if this will finally be the bad one, when a DCEU movie comes out people hope that this will finally be the good one” so true it hurts
Seems like it finally did with CPT Marvel and Aquaman
@@jaderabbit898 It cant fail with just one movie. Plus it depends what you mean by 'fail'. It's gonna make a billion dollars. Also, it got better reviews than Aquaman. :)
@@jaderabbit898 you on drugs or something just cause of one🤔
And this was year, the year that a DCEU movie was better than an MCU one, I haven’t seen Shazam or Captain Marvel but I’ve seen the reviews, and endgame
wait really? i thought captain marvel did bad lol. sheesh didn't know it made that much money. because of like the critics and stuff I thought it was a bad movie for MCU
Marvel took their time. Marvel knew what they were doing.
They also didnt shove in a movie immediately and say "hey we're making a movie where all the heroes are!"
How Marvel does films:
See's a franchise failing (the Thor series) and saves it by rebooting it with a new director (Taika Wahiti) and a new refreshing tone.
How DC does films:
See's a franchise failing (its entire cinematic universe) and doesn't do anything. Keeps same shit director on (Zach Snyder) and constantly goes with the same annoying and pretentious dark tone.
It really doesn't take a genius to see where Marvel is going right and DC is going wrong with their films.
yeah but they also sold their most popular franchises away before they could get any use out of them
Tinystar And now they have them all back except Hulk which Universal owns the distribution rights.
They were also very fortunate to work with talented actors like RDJ and directors. The first Ironman movie's original scripts had issues. But yes taking their time was key!
Marvel wasn’t scared to take the necessary risks
Amen to that.
Kind of reverse since every dc movie tries to be great
@2020Surya S315 I know, but there balls they do risks
In starting a shared universe . . . no. In presenting challenging stories . . . yes.
Frankly, I think hiring Zack Snyder - known for dark movies like Watchmen or 300 - and let him create a movie about optimistic light hopeful boyscout hero was HUGE risk. :D
DC to Marvel: "We have no quarrel with you."
Marvel to DC: "An ant has no quarrel with a boot."
DC to Marvel: "You planning to step on us?"
But if marvel was Loki and DC was fury, wouldnt that imply that DC wins in the end?
Dino li A very big if
Dino li in the end I think they will.
@@lortep458 no, that would imply both die around the same time
Hello I'm from the future. You're not gonna wanna hear about what Thor: Ragnarok did to Justice League XD
EDIT: You're not gonna wanna hear about what Black Panther did to Justice League either
Anthony Villanueva And you are specially not gonna hear what infinity war trailer did for justice league
DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED on what Ant man & the wasp might do either.
im probably on the minatory in this, but im *slightly* more excited about the new ant man movie than infinity war.
log out next time how is that even possible
You forgot what Wonder Woman did to those films
black panther made more than wonder woman
I just rewatched Iron Man and not only does it have a better origin than any DCEU film, the characters have actual emotion, the story doesn’t have any continuity issues and the CGI is better than any of the DCEU. The problem is the DCEU is half assed attempt to make money on the characters names. The studio doesn’t give a damn about the DCEU (just look at they handled Suicide Squad) If they want to compete with Marvel they’ll have to restart the universe.
Albert Marcea wait... how many faces do you have??
Lyser Salvador what?
Albert Marcea are you stupid ?
My nephew his 7 yeah I asked him who’s your favourite superhero?
Not batman, not superman, not hulk, not any of the x-men, not spider man. He said captain America!! Cap America !! And were from the uk 🇬🇧 how crazy is that I didn’t even like cap America when I was 7 and I read the comics 😕 show what marvel did
Ten years ago, I hated Captain America. He is now my favourite too, by a long shot.
Thank God u are not from Russia 😂
Haha
My nephew hero is ironman
Sara Hana kids love him
Im a total marvel fan have been for over 30+ years but I really do want DC to put out some awesome films!
"Which makes it so frustrating that Batman & Superman (between the two) are sitting on 150 years of stories yet to be updated and translated to modern cinema."
You don't think The Dark Knight trilogy did just that? DC's films have been great, just not of late. Superman (1978) was the first great superhero film that started it all. Then the Batman films. And TDK trilogy (at least the first two films) were great. In fact, TDK is still highly regarded as one of the best comic book films to date.
i'm excited for suicide squad
soo, how did the Suicide Squad movie make u feel?
+Toomas Mittens suicide squad is a good film it just needed the script to involve the joker some more, that's the only thing, everyone was hoping for some joker action.
DC, you can't just make movie franchises whenever you want. You need to plan things out first and start with stand-alone films.
Ziggy Wynder Amen the DCEU can be just as good but they need to get their shit together.
They just wanted instant Avengers. They didn’t care about worldbuilding
eric kosecki What other ways? The only alternative is doing separate, stand-alone films

+Zack Watchmen was boring and 300 is a shit movie. Zach Snyder is a hack.
Is it any surprise the only good movie in the DCEU is Wonder Woman? Imagine that, an origin story than remains faithful to the character was well received. DC needs to stop rushing things and introduce their characters to the audience before shoving them all in a movie.
It was good for the first 75% then took a massive dump at the end
Meh, it had a weak villain. 95% of Marvel movies also have shitty villains. The point still stands that the best movie up to this point has been an origin story. Maybe if they introduced everyone and fleshed them out in their own movies before throwing them in a ensemble movie they'd have more screen time to tell better stories. You know, kinda like Marvel did.
You mean THANOS is a shit villain? OK

Stan lee cameos

10:40 Zack Snyder only wants to create his own story, not what's based off comics.
That's the same way I feel about Brian Singer and what he's done to the X-men.
You wouldn't be completely wrong in that assessment either.
Organized Chaos Productions
Brian Singer does the same thing with the X-men.

X-men Apocalypse is at a 48% on RT'S🍅
Dr Strange is at a 90% and they both came out the same year!
Now you guys are gonna tell me "RT'S🍅 don't mean shit" or "come up with your own opinion!"
I'll admit Logan and DeadPool are great movies but that's it!
Also better storylines (mostly character driven) and managing to keep what makes people like the characters actually in the characters.
You forgot two important things, story and acting. And DCEU sucks in that.
Marvel spoiled the hulk reveal in ragnorok but still marvel is still solid
bn3kr2 to be fair Universal likely has something to do with that, people often forget that Marvel Studios doesn’t actually have the film rights to the Hulk and that’s why all his appearances since The Incredible Hulk have been in crossovers.
Zack Snyder shouldn't be in control of DC movies. Any one who said that they think batman should be raped in prison shouldn't be making movies about him.
He should just be a visual director, that is given great stories. It's good that Geoff Johns is leading.
What ruined DC
MARTHA!
😂
Why did you say that name
Now: Marvels is 20 movies in (after 10 years)
Now: DCEU is 5 movies in (after 5 years)
Hmm, now that you mention it, Marvel is outproducing them in quality and quantity.

Okay maybe it wont be amazing for stupide people like you but it will at least be different and it will not try to be safe and copy marvel
rickychardzz
They are imitating marvel on the whole cinematic universe thing. Safe route.
They give their practically very first DCCU movie their two most popular and known characters so it can be a sure hit. Safe route
After Deadpool and Guardians, Suicide Squad is their edgy interpretation of anti heroes. Safe route.
MixerComposer You know more than a lot of comic book fans on UA-cam nowadays
So i really want to like BvS but i cant because its just felt so wrong.
i had NO idea that thats how zack snyder felt. fuckin disgraceful hes literally shitting in DCs bed. unacceptable
same. its a shame that he ruined these good characters

AGREED!!
Damn, those Snyder quotes are killer. Well done sir.
They're also taken completely out of context in this video. He never said he'd have Batman raped or that Superman would be better if he tore off arms.
They're "killer" because this guy lied and completely misrepresented them. The quote about "Superman" was actually about Dr. Manhattan in Watchmen.
Too bad Suicide Squad sucks too

Taha Hagar lol suicide squad a solid movie? Smh i think that DCEU fanboys have a syndrome that keeps then from liking quality movies

In the end, Disney and Marvel is for quality while DC and Warner Brothers are for quantity
Not even that, they make very little movies, and the ones they make really suck xD

Great analogy!
"To any people who enjoyed Man of Steel and Batman v Superman, that’s fine. We do not wish to attack you"
Really? Then why are you attacking people who enjoyed the film in the comments section?
I only have one thing to say,how the fuck does zack Snyder still has a job a DC??????
He has never had a job at DC, he works for Warner Brothers
+Glenn Ross zack is the reason superman is ruined, I can't believe they have him directing justice league after the BvS pile of shit.
If Marvel made their films the DC way:
1. Captain America: The First Avenger
2. Captain America: Civil War
3. Guardians of the Galaxy
4. Spider Man: Homecoming
5. The Avengers
6. Black Panther
7. Thor
what about green lantern 2011 that allegedly was going to be a start to a shared universe
+Iron McMuffin from what I heard it was such a box office fail that it didn't even make the money back that it took to make the movie
Surfitlive. Exactly mah man)) With MCU movies even those which are meh to me I still rewatch them because they are part of the whole story, they expland the world. They keep the flow going.
It sucked so bad the guy who played as him (the guy who plays as deadpool) talks shit about it every day even in the movie deadpool!!
This is how DC made their Universe
Iron Man
Civil War
Guardians of the Galaxy
The Incredible Hulk
The Avengers
Iron Man 2
What 💀
4:37 On the Thor The Dark Worl poster........... isn't that supposed to be Jane Foster and not Loki in his arms.............??????? Or is my sleep deprived brain playing tricks on me????????? I need answears!!!!!!!!!!!
you know why civil war blew BvS out of the water, because we built a huge chemistry with them, DCEU, we saw superman kill evetyone, great chemistry
Captain America Civil War had a slow, but big build up based on the previous MCU movies. Batman v Superman had none of that so the conflict felt rushed.
1:40 seconds into your video and I have the answer. with Civil War, it was built up over a rather long period of time since the first avengers movie back in 2012 I believe if not correct me. but with Batman v Superman the tension between the two wasn't built up it just happened after general zod's attack (pretty sure I have his name spelled incorrectly)
ironman and captain American have had a build up over two movies together the chaos between the movies also played a factor
but with batman v superman its just
man of steel
batman v Superman
it happened too fast.
with civil war we waited years for it
avengers
winter soldier
age of ultron
civil war
the four of those movies offered different chaotic events which closed in on their disagreement.
Shut up about buildup people (sry for being harsh... too many people are saying this) because people can go into a fight and have meaning without buildup... just have a well rounded movie
@@foop2954 which btw, DC failed to do LOL
@@foop2954 They can, but buildup helps, and they can go without it, but that failed in BvS.
Golden State Warriors Yeah, you do need build up most of the time if you’re not an excellent filmmaker
Marvel for life
As much as I liked the dark night trilogy, and thought man if steel was pretty ok, I'm kinda glad Nolan left, he doesn't seem to me like the director who should be making movies based on all types of guys and girls in costumes. He's more into ultra realism and philosophical epics , not superhero movies .
I feel that's the reason he did well with Batman. Batman, by nature, is a very grounded character, which meant he could take in into a serious direction. I doubt that would work as well with most other Superheroes
So many butthurt DC, Batman and Snyder fans in the comments section.
I'm not butthurt. I hope Marvel stops putting out trash movies!
ok Dc fanboy. That needs to be applied to Dc films. Cause everybody knows Dc films have sucked for years with only a few exceptions. But these Dc films sucked ass throughout the years as well as Marvel......
These Dc Films sucked
Superman III
Superman IV: The Quest For Peace
Superman Returns
Catwoman
Joneh Hex
Green Lantern
V for Vendetta
The History of Violence
Batman & Robin
Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice
Suicide Squad
These Marvel films sucked
The Punisher Starring Dolph Lundren
The Punisher Starring Thomas Jane
The Punisher: War Zone
Spider-man 3
The Amazing Spider-man 2
X-men: The Last Stand
X-men Origins Wolverine
X-men: Apocalypse
Blade: Trinity
Ang Lee`s The Hulk
Fantastic 4
fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer
DareDevil
Elektra
Ghost Rider
So both comic book companies have shit movies but as of right now Marvel is on a winning streak. And is a known fact to have more hit films then Dc as of right now. Critics and audiences respond with their money and go see what they like. And by looking at the reception and box office it shows.
1969Makaveli Oh cmon Vendetta was cool. Just very dragged and boring but it was still interesting
Danny Malzahn all dc has is Batman. No other great characters came from dc so marvel has to do something. even suicide squad was trash.
Danny Malzahn like i said. dc only has Batman. you can't make a great movie series with one character. Lol
This was in my "recommended" list......
*.....OVER 2 YEARS LATER (it's 17/09/2018, man!!)*
Marvels makes movies with quality and quantity (20 movies in 10 years)
"Perfectly balanced as all things should be"
This is fascinating to watch four years in the future. Would love a follow-up.
great video. one other thing I think that gets over looked in the BVS vs Civil War fight is that Civil War had been building for a long time. there was tension and emotion between Stark and Cap and it all came to ahead.
DC: well at least we have better TV shows
Marvel: hold my Daredevil.
DC: well at least we have better Videogames and animated movies
Marvel: hold my Spiderman.
I am so excited for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision, Loki, What If...? and Hawkeye
Bruh come on DC has better animation.
4:32, look at the Thor Dark World poster lmao
So here i am in 2018.... and DC is only hurting themselves now. Suicide Squad wasnt well recieved (but Margot Robbie as Harley quinn... MMN!!!) and justice league was a cringy mess :/ Meanwhile Avengers Infinity war comes out in a month and people are already losing their shit over it haha
Infinity war happened and dc has died
it was the thanos snap. DC was collateral. they werent even involved. XD
@@nicholasseng r/whoosh
DejaVoodooDoll They've already stated that not all of the deaths are temporary and 4 will fix nothing. Avengers 4 will give 3 more weight in some way by making someone's death permanent. To be fair, we don't even know how the CU works, they're still telling the story. This is a 10 comic book arc that's not finished yet, lol.
2020 here endgame is the highest-grossing film and I am super excited for black widow (sadly pushed back due to covid) in november
Nice touch.
DCEU was acctualy planned to begin with Green Lantern, but with tham movie beeing shit, Man Of Steel started it.
Uroš Đošic which was also shit
4:35 why is thor holding Loki in the dark world poster?
Remember when marvel was 13 movies in lol
I couldn't agree more.
When "A world without Superman" came to screen and people were saying that the hope died with him dying, I almost started to laugh out loud...
Did anyone notice Thor: The Dark World's poster?!
4:39
All the movie posters are normal exempt for Thor: the dark world! It’s the version of the poster with Loki instead of Jane made by fans who shipped the two! 😂😂🤣🤣🤣
This really makes me sad because I can't wait to see a live action Darkseid fight the Justice League. But I can't help but feel it's gonna fall flat
You completely skipped over Green Latern.
Green Lantern is not DCEU
Organized Chaos Productions it's their second attempt at a DCEU.
+Raul Leal well that and DC/WB shoot the movie and another company edits them.
I just noticed at 11:34
Thor is holding Loki... LOL. I remember that poster. Ahh good times.
look when DC get a bucky then we can start talking
agreed
4:35 Thor dark world poster
Batman v Superman should have been the most legendary movie of the decade. Instead it was a movie no one will remember in a few years
I mean, Infinity War
@@jessemccree448 IW was great. With lots of cool characters actually acting like those characters.
BossCrazyRoss I mean it would likely still be remembered just not for anything good
@@thekurg4810 Yeah, you're right. I probably should have worded it better. I meant to say it's just a forgettable movie.
9:37 I'd say it's more like he's more interested in putting his DC Darkfics onto the big screen.
Why do you think it took DC so long to get in the race with Marvel when it comes to the movies?
Easy. Warner Brothers.
But it is a big step forward what they have done with Geoff Johns; it shows they are placing greater respect in the creative minds of the DC source material.
They had never previously considered these minds to be "Movie People".
+JackDManheim you sir, are correct
I think they were busy with other movies. Last I look they invested in the Hobbit trilogy.
They weren't interested in cbm until they realize Marvel/Disney is getting a huge profit from an established market.
ladydruyear because they're retarded
HAHAHAHA, I love the Aquaman/Green Lantern analogy...SOOOO right!!!
The real legend out of both of them is walt disney and stan lee
How? Simple- Marvel focuses on Character and Story.
DC just prioritizes Action & CGI effects; never on Quality.
Dino Monzon dude u Mean DCEU ? yeah dceu totally sucks (Except WW). But DC films are great Tho like Constantine , Watchmen and TDK trilogy. Don't get me wrong , i know MCU iS far better than dceu.
sh -
To be fair, I also liked Chris Reeve's Superman I & II, and the 1989 & 1995 Batman films. And Lynda Carter's Batman and Jackson Bostwick's Captain Marvel TV series.
Dino Monzon oh Marvel tv series ? I'm a fan of Daredevil tv series dude , it's amazing
sh -
Forgot to point out- those DC shows & films that I do like is due to the fact that DC - then- never forgot about the Fun aspect of comic book movies. Ironically- especially in the case of Superman I & II- they had a very Marvel Comics feel.
Dceu movies are bad except man of steel and Aquaman
I really enjoyed the amount of time and research you put into this video. Having most of the economic and studio news reports in one video worked great! Bravo sir!
I saw a comment on batman v superman, the guy says "MARVEL DO YOU BLEED???" Karma.
1:32 Because before Civil War we had 2 movies of Iron Man and Captain America being on the same team, being at odds, but still being friends, so it gave their fight more weight and put it on a more emotional level, with Batman vs Superman, they were just thrown together all of a sudden without a previous team up or friendship so their fight had no weight or emotion to it, it was just like “Who cares?”
right now i prefer marvel's movies, and DC's comics
This was a really good video, thank you for posting it, I found your thoughts quite illuminating.
Dc big 3
Batman Superman Wonder Woman
Marvel Big 3
Wolverine Spider-Man Hulk
At least for me that’s what I saw
Jamie Banner I always see it like this
Dc trinity : Batman Superman Wonder Woman
Marvels big 3 : Wolverine Spider-Man Hulk
you know ten years ago if you asked me to state to superheros I probaly would have said hulk and spiderman but I didn't even read the comics and I was what 7
"Probably because it would be too expensive to replace him at the last minute" Oh boy do I have some news for you 😂😂
If you want to fairly compare MCU and DCCU compare both of its first movie Iron man and Man of steel respectively. Consider the fact that everyone know superman but only comic book fans and reader know iron man, who was a second tier marvel superhero before the movie. Also it was the sixth superman movie overall whereas It was first movie for iron man.
Now for comparision:
iron man: budget 140 mil. box office: 318 mil domestic(ticket price inflation 380 mil) and 585 mil worldwide with audience rating of 91%.
man of steel: budget 225 mil. box office: 291 mil domestic(ticket price inflation 298 mil) and 668 mil worldwide with audience rating of 75%. Clearly iron man is more successful than man of steel.
and the worst thing is BvS couldn't even grossed more than deadpool in domestic and if deadpool would have released in china it would have outgrossed BvS in worldwide collection too.
This is very well edited and researched well done sir
I am from the future (2020)
Captain Marvel is average
DC made two good films in a row (Aquaman and shazam)
Avengers Endgame is one of the best conclusions are seen
Despite Shazam's success, DC is dead
you do realize he probably knows that... right?
@@TractorChauffeur Yeah, I'm pretty sure. Tell that to the others
@Bradyn Kerr it isn't a box office bomb tho. I agree it shouldn't have been released in Spring 2019 due to the hype of Captain Marvel and Endgame
Tbh the dceu isn't going anywhere. All they have to do is make good movies and people will be on there side.
@@alphareturns5988 yeah
respect that is all DC needs, respect for it source material, respect for the fans, and respect for the characters, and most def. firing zack snyder is a must, he is great in the fighting scenes, but he wants to turn DC characters into mortal kombat characters, in my opinion, flashpoint should be used as a soft reboot, keep what works (wonder woman, aquaman, probably shazam) erease everything, as keep going as it never happened.
Exactly.
4:40 Thor: The Dark world. look. like if you see it.
that story about wolverine in spiderman blew my freaking mind
why civil war did well because of one reason
spiderman

Chew Li Juan i joking it just me
Remember the good old days when we were all butting heads like this? Is it weird that I kinda miss that?
The best superhero vs. superhero live action adaptation of the year goes to Daredevil vs. Punisher. Just saying.
agreed. but u may not agree with me, but BvS is the second. Daredevil was amazing though. Quite frankly puts the movies to shame. King Pin and Punisher were just bravo.
I actually think 'Civil War' was much, much better, but anyway:
Is Punisher really a superhero? He's more of a villain, really - he goes into hospitals to shoot at injured criminals (he could have very easily killed innocent people there), and he hangs people from meat hooks(!), and he seems to be motivated mostly by murderous revenge instead of just wanting to do what's right. He has more in common with Kingpin than with Daredevil.
Guy R Punisher is an anti-hero, or a bad hero. He fights criminals, but he fights criminals as one.
Check out the Thor: the dark world poster at 4:37
Who ia here after Marvel has finished their infinity saga & made five billion dollar movies (Black Panther, Infinity War, Captain Marvel, Endgame, Far from Home) in 2018 & '19 alone.. & Avengers Endgame is now the highest grossing film of all time. I guess DCEU is now dead
this is the last warning to wb and dc; please do not fire james wan!!! he is only your savior
Captain America is no b-lister for God's sake
He was
