Hi Cheekoz Family. I am watching your video when you stayed in Turkey. I am watching you, Dan, when you are riding a bicycle on the sand at the beach. It is such a nice ocean there. I don’t know how you can keep your balance riding a bicycle with one hand and holding the camera with the other hand. That is quite a skill. I was born in Israel and came to America at 14 years old and became an American citizen at 19. My father did all the paperwork to become a citizen, and the test was very easy and passed at 19. I am 77 years old now and live in Raleigh, North Carolina, near my daughter and three grandchildren. Dan, when I was a girl in Israel, I wanted a bicycle, but my parents could not afford to buy me one, and I learned to ride my Dad’s 26” wheels and put my right foot under the rim of the bicycle and peddle like that. It was very difficult to do and I fell many times, but finally achieved to do it. I am enjoying watching you on your videos. Take Care. 😊

On my first business trip to Japan, I made a MAJOR error in protocol.
In the evening after a long day of business meetings the chief executive of the car company invited all of us to a big multi course dinner at a very expensive exclusive restaurant. After some 12 meal courses, entertainments and drinks, the evening was concluding after 5 hours time. Apparently cost per person exceeded US$700, and the whole group were at least 50 people.
As we gathered outside to get chauffeur driven cars, it was asked we arrange as a group for a group photo. Right beside a very ornate garden with large white pebble area and flower beds, beside several cherry trees. The white pebbles very carefully placed in patterned ridges. I was taller than many others and was asked to shift position along and more to the rear.
There I made a huge mistake, rather than walk around the front of the whole group on the pathway, I chose to walk over the white pebbles a far shorter walk. YOU MUST NEVER WALK ON THAT WHITE PEBBLED PATTERNED AREA. IT IS VERY BAD DISRESPECTFUL BEHAVIOUR FOR ANYONE TO DISTRUB THE VERY CAREFULLY ARRANGED PEBBLES BY WALKING ON IT.
Only a very ill-mannered savage would break protocol in such civilised environment. I was told in no uncertain terms by fellow Japanese engineers the next day about my bad behaviour.
You would have seen many such patterned white pebble spaces in that Japanese garden, many with paths crossing via stepping paving stones that are allowed to step on, but should definitely avoid directly walking on the white pebbles, especially where these are in some ' Ridges' patterned arrangement, less critical if just smooth blank white pebbled area.
