- Testing color neutrality of Formatt Hitech's Firecrest Ultra Cine Superslim IRND filters.
I test the .6, .9, 1.2 kit AND stack them to provide a full 2-7 stop kit that's shown, in this test, to be usable and provide neutral results across the board.
Chapters:
00:00 Introduction and Sample Roll
01:20 Camera/Lensing, Deeper Dive
02:50 Stacked Filter Results
04:09 Vector Scope, Balance Examination
08:40 Outro
DISCLAIMER:
These filters fit in both my Smallrig Light Weight Matte Box and my Smallrig Mini Mattebox, however, the filters did NOT fit stacked together in 1 slot in the Light Weight Matte Box, but did fit stacked together in a single tray on my Mini. The Light Weight Smallrig matte box apparently does not have a wide enough slot, which is annoying, but not that big of an issue for me since I only use that one indoors and rarely need more than 2 stops of ND, if that.

I was just thinking about IRNDs and by some magic YT algorithm recommended your video. Thank you. Great test. Just ordered kit with your link
Super helpful thank you!
These are great filters. Anyone watching this videos should grab them. You won’t be disappointed. Good buy Tony!
thanks for sharing !
I just order a filter with your link !!!
What about IR? Would be great if you test that also! As always, great info!!!
Gonna do that in the outdoor test. There's a black shirt in the shot here and it stayed black throughout, but the outdoor test will be a better test for this.
Is the quality the same as the circular IR ones, I want to stack them?
No idea
Is rare that the 0.3 do something in the background window, and 2.8 doesn't change.
Will one work alone in the small rig light box?
Yes
