Kiefer isn't really a fan of videogames and he has a music career and other stuff to do that are way more important.
Then that dude only had like 2 lines in the whole game. Bare minimum dialogue smh.
@@htxflow It's pretty clear to me that Kojima just wanted to give a "fuck you" to Hayter, frustrated that he was stuck with David for, like, a decade longer than he ever wanted to. Very petty move. Considering how little dialogue Snake has in the game, there's literally no reason whatsoever to justify the change except Kojima being a dick.
Not that it did Kojima any favours, costing Konami even more money than they were already sinking into the game to little visible result. Just one of numerous time-wasting, money-sucking decisions on Kojima's end that got his ass kicked out once Konami'd had enough of his shit, oops.
I just never understand why hatyer was always forced to audition for each game. All the fans love him, but kojima is like Vince mcMahon and doesn't reconize talent at times :(

Not to sound like an ass, but I hope that doesn't happen... without Kojima the series is pretty much dead. Metal Gear Survive? Ugh. And I love David Hayter too.
Thankfully, David reprised the role in Super Smash Bros Ultimate, although most every voice line was recycled from Brawl.

It was the night before Christmas,
all through mother base.
Not a genome was stirring,
not even Skullface.
My weapons were hung
by the bedside with care,
in hopes that Roy Campbell
soon would be there.
Sunny and Paz nestled
snug in their beds,
while visions of FOX-DIE
danced in their heads.
Liquid took off his glasses;
I removed my bandana.
And we unstrapped our guns...
until manana.
When, up to the landing pad,
there arose such a clatter
Miller ordered Snake:
"Enough, go see what's the matter!
Away to the window
I flew like a flashbang,
tore open the blast shields

The Moon on the breast

When what to my

Flashbacks to Liquid Snake Spirit Battle
Holy shit, Cam Clarke hasn't lost a step on doing Liquid at all. Dave was also much less growly this go around, I liked it, sounded more like his original MGS1 performance. What is this, 1998 all over again?
For some reason I can't picture Liquid if it isn't dramatic and theatrical enough.
Yeah, hasn't change an octave in 20 years, really impressive. David, to be fair, had to alter it for MGS 4, so sometimes fluctuates.

His portrayal of Snake and Big Boss in MGS4 and Peace Walker respectively, was all about voice direction. It’s what the director wanted. He can still do a younger Solid Snake quite well. The Ford commercial he did a couple years ago was pretty good.
@@ninboy01 true, but the difference between MGS1 Snake and MGS3 Snake is quite a bit more growly; granted, it's really another guy, but even MGS1 and 2 Snake sound different.
That's the thing, Hayter does a good job as a young Snake, but he doesn't seem to do to well when it comes to a more aged//worn and torn voice, which is why I didn't have a problem with Sutherland in Phantom Pain. Really didn't like his (Hayter) voice in Peacewalker, was hard to understand at times even with earbuds//headphones while his voice work with the younger versions of Snake (and to some extent Old Snake in Guns of the Patriots) were nice and clear.
I didn't even know that Cam and David still did stuff like this. I have not truly been alive until watching this. It was awesome.

Even if doing voiceovers for the Metal Gear franchise is considered the "highlight" of their career it's still more than what most people have accomplished. Their great voice acting performances are forever immortalized with these games and millions of people around the world know who they are. That's no small feat IMHO. Excellent job guys! 🎄😁👍

RG07 Gaming Kojima never got rid of David because it was 2 DIFFERENT CHARACTERS!! Get over it already.
RG07 Gaming yes, he still voiced both versions of Big Boss in the end, but they are still two different characters and Kojima knew he had to recast the role eventually. Maybe it was due to the coma or just eventual voice changing with age, but it needed to happen with how MGS4 ended.
I don’t like the whole “Venom and BB rode off as best friends” angle, but I am totally on board with having David as Solid and allowing Big Boss to be his own character.

The game takes place from the perspective of his doppelgänger so it can be argued that the prologue is just his memory of the events that took place since the prologue ends with him waking up in the hospital bed in the first person. Even as he travels with snake through the hospital it can still be argued that it’s not really snake and just his perception as the voice is the same as his, and he perceives himself as snake, hell it can even be argued that snake was never even really there to begin with. It’s still bogus that Hayter didn’t get the role though.

If only someone would make a twisted sitcom featuring the twin snakes. Even just messing around, they've got great bro chemistry. Liquid was always my favorite MGS character. Hearing you guys do this was a wonderful holiday experience. Metal Gearmas to all, and to all a good fight!
