omg. you won't believe how much of a lifesaver you are. Great job! Enabling the multi stream rendering did the thing for me! Appreciate your effort a lot
I was struggling big time with my video edits lagging like crazy. You helped me a bunch, thanks!
creating video proxy fixed my mad lagging, thanks a lot dude! been watching through many vids and this is the only one that helped, my respect
glad it worked bro
How does proxies work ? I use a Sony A7s iii and my quality is so good that it’s making Vegas 19 screen lag hard
@@bettadenu7 google explains the best: Simply put, a proxy video is essentially a smaller copy of your high-resolution raw footage, giving you a much smaller file to use during your editing process, making large video files much more manageable for editing.
hello I have a question can you help me (I do not speak too much English). My problem is: when I create the proxy of a video it is automatically deleted and it shows me a black screen I am on Sony vegas 16 who can explain to me how to do it please
OMFG THANK YOU, I was lagging like crazy and I probably spend too many hours trying to fix the lag and when I saw your video and did all the steps it finally works, no more lag, instant subscribe
glad to hear that brother!
7:54 in this tab, if you have older vegas, change from "Intel QSV" to "NVIDIA NVENC" it helps a lot.
The OHCI IEEE 1394 DV option was for previewing on camcorders from twenty years ago. My guess is its similar to dropping project resolution. I had heard that Vegas' primary weakness is its internal engine was built around this era of digital video. Great video, still relevant to current versions of Vegas. Sadly.
old days, i did deal with it because i didn't use vegas until ater and it was vegas 13. i forgot what i used to use.
Thanks! Enabling legacy AVC encoding solved my issues! I was getting the same amount of lag no matter what my settings were, massive project, or a single clip with no FX. Now I can run it smoothly on Preview!
Hey specter, I just want to say great work on this video. I know how much work goes into creating videos and vegas was really driving me crazy. I think the multi stream and avc decoding with gpu hardware on is what fixed it for me so I wanted to like and comment on the video to show some support. Thanks for taking the time to make this tutorial to try and help people.
Glad to hear that bro, comments like yours give me motivation so thanks as well!
@@specterSAN I just looked at some of your gaming videos and your editing is clean and well done. I'm very impressed by it and you have so much potential. I wish youtube was better at getting smaller creators more noticed because you have some really good talent with editing vids.
I LOVE YOU. YOU SAVED MY LIFE AND YOU DESERVE EVERYTHING YOU EVER WANTED. much love
editing Counter Strike clips myself & see that you also used one... this is how I know this tutorial will work thank you chief
Thank you! Finally a good video about the LAG issue!
thank you lol my pc is terrible i wasnt able to edit at all before
didnt expect to see you here :O
@@easternchad oml i had like 200 subs when i commented that LOL
@@notvixios lmfao crazy to see how much you grew over the years ❤
Thanks man! Subbed to show appreciation for this clear, calm and useful tutorial, thanks again.
bruh...editing a video about Vegas PRO on Vegas PRO...awesome...
Vegasception
this helped SO much, THANK YOU
Thanks, it actually helped. Other videos I watched didn't really help that much.
yo, that Enable AVC decoding thing is insane! it made it go from intolerable to completely normal!
You're a lifesafer... Subscribed! Cheers
Thank you soo much bro!!! I've seen a lot of video like this, but everything say a same information, but this, this is perfect!!!! I loved it!
Glad it helped man❤️😘
Create Video Proxy option helped me only! Thanks man :)
Works thx, found out HEVC videos are just too heavy for my pc, but lags on normal video files are non existent now
the video proxy one worked for me, cheer mate!
big respect for this man
If your Vegas starts rendering slower at the end instead, disable multi-thread render - worked for me!
Brilliant job Specter. I am back to editing.
Thanks for the great tutorial, keep up the awesome work!
The "Preferences > File I/O > Enable Legacy AVC Decoding" worked for me, since I am working MP4 source videos. 👍
same thanks dud
YOU HELPED ME PLAY A VIDEO SMOOTHLY WITH GT 210 TYSM SRIOUSLY YOU HELPED ME
First one seems to be working for me. Thanks. 👍
The statement at 5:13 about dynamic ram preview isn't right, 200MB isn't the amount allocated to VEGAS Pro, it's the amount allocated specifically to ram previews. You can change it but recommended these days is 5% of system ram, not 30%. (and the less ram you have the less you want to use in this way). 0MB will hurt performance significantly.
Building proxy files is a great idea for troublesome media.
Thanks for clearing this out!
The 30 fps playback really helps, never tought of this!
The video proxy did it for me, thankyou very much, I have a pretty good graphics card and I aught to use it for sony vegas pro however it isn't coming up as an option unlike it did for you.
Thnx man, very well explained and educational.
Video proxy helped a lot its kinda like pre rendering of the clip takes a while
wow dude i love u, it works!
Jim loves you!
very thankful for this tip
excellent video, thank you so much, I liked it!
this fixed my preview lag! thanks
THANK YOU. I LOVE U
Proxy saved the day man 🙏
Yes new video ♥️
this helped me so much ty
Multi Stream Rendering was the fix for me. For some reason, after working fine for ages, Vegas was struggling to preview anything at over 2FPS, whether it was on a HDD or SSD. It was my GPU being confused/lazy.
Thank you! I use most of these tools already but there were a few I keep forgetting about. Like Ctrl + Shift - Options - Internal. Why make is so hard to find and remember? Everytime I change a laptop or get a new version I forget half of these settings I need to change 😄
Thanks man great video keep it up
thank you so much. a lot of this really helped, I'll see if the proxy is good when this 6 hour and 40 minute video is done creating a proxy LOL
This really helped me, thanks a ton, man. ^^
wasn't expecting to see you here lol
@@noobmaster9714 I mean, I'm a regular Vegas user, we all have our struggles, lol. 😜
Thanks bro, helped me with my video
WOW i cant belive you i worked good for me
at first i was like i cant believe a 10K USD PC cant render and work good with a simple video and now it fixed
thank you so much
Thanks man!
Working for vegas 14 too thx dude i have subscribed u
Aye bro, I appreciate the vid, but that beat you used in the beginning..yea imma need that.
Everybody who does a video on this takes forever and a day to explain.
Thank you so much it was very helpful
Thank you! It worked!
Thanks it helped me out :D
Enable legacy AVC decoding helped me a lot. Thank you ;)
Ended up setting video ram to 0 and whala it works. I have a workstation and was concerned as to why it's choppy in the preview panel. Thank you !
Setting this video speed to 1.25 and it's the perfect tutorial
👍
Haha🤣, glad we have that option
Thanks.
Nice video 👍🏼
8:15 Hardware decoder to use i set it to NVIDIA NVDEC and lag dissapeared even on best(full). thanks for helping me find it
me too
THANK YOU
thank you man
Your a life saver
good video bro thanks
Thanks!
thanx bro.it helps me alot.
glad to hear that bro
thx it helps a lot
Thank you very much for this helpful information. On another note: in the video where you showed the lagging, you had some orange flags on top of all the tracks. Could you please let me know for what these are? Thank you.
I press shift + ctrl at the same time but i dont get that option
same with me. Have you found the solution for it?
very thanks bro ! :)
good video!
tried everything and it didn’t work until the proxy, THANK YOUUU
thanks bro creating video proxy fixed it 👍
BRO thank you very much))) I could not prerender part of the project, it would just prerender few frames, but I just should change my pixel format to 8 bit full from 32 full
this helped thanks
it didnt do anything for me but i have a red screen now on every clip thanks
The only thing that worked for me was creating a video proxy. I have 32 gb of ram, ryzen 7 3700 & an rtx3060 and I still can't get it to play @ 60 in the preview window on best at all. But Preview full is smooth with no lag.
Hey, my real problem with Vegas 18 is the audio synchronisation.
When i'm editing my video like i'm adding a gun shot noise in the middle of the video, every time i play my video from the start the gun shot is played early than the video. but when i play the only part where is the gun shot, the sync is okay.
i though it wont be a problem since i putted the gun sound in the right place but when i render my final video, the gun sound is played early than the action... i don't know how to fix this it's getting my NERVES !
it does with all the audio ! longer the video is, larger the desync feels.
it feels like vegas is rendering what the preview show and not the final product in the timeline...
Does anyone know of to fix this ? :(
Hey man, i'm using version 15 and couldn't find "enable multi stream rendering" in internal.
Spent around $300 on the program to just having it freeze and stutter all the time! Makes no sense. I got a RTX 3070 too 🤦♂️
I've tried all the options, non of them help. What else can I do?
I did everything you said but it's still not enough
ily
6:46 ctrl + shift + click doesnt seem to be bringing up internal for me any ideas?
Hey Tyler, what's the Vegas version you have?
@@specterSANVegas Pro 14
after adding Twixtor pro to my video it started lagging i have only 8 gb Ram do u know how to fix it ?????
Did you watch the video? 😂
@@specterSAN the Ram part u told 16gb - 5000 if its 32 gb ram then u can set - 0 , 8gb ram - ???
@@Balboa17 add 1/3 so around 2500. If you have issues with twixtor but you still wanna use it you can always render the twixtor clips out and import the rendered clips in the project
@@specterSAN thx a lot dude
Why do I have to find all these fixes when I have really good specs. It's ridiculous...I can't even add a single effect without vegas 20 having a fit.
Unfortunately none of these tips worked for me. :/
I use vegas pro 14, tried everything in this video and sadly, nothing worked. I really don't understand. Some projects I have don't lag on playback at all, but other ones do. Really lost.
I even tried this on vegas 21, was a lot better than before, but still ends up as me watching a sideshow of pictures 😭
Guys, tell me what to do. I'm using Vegas Pro 19 build 381. And when adding heavy effects (for example S_JPEGdamage or S_FreezeFrame) my preview just starts to twitch and blink green. What can you tell me to do?
For me it's video event fx which is laggy, like 0.5 fps... while my preview is good. What the hell !
what is multi stream render? What is this exactly lol? Cant find any anwers in the internet
tysm
TYYYY
thx
Came to this video only because of one single plugin ive been using lol. All of my other plugins work fine with zero lag, but even after all these steps, this plugin still lags my preview x'd
What plugin is it?
@@specterSAN Universe VHS. Other plugins that won't lag being; Magic Bullet Looks, and Twixtor.
@@specterSAN Lmao sorry forgot to mention this is my main account.
Bro twixtor makes my videos literally unplayable, like 1 fps in window preview
hello I have a question can you help me (I do not speak too much English). My problem is: when I create the proxy of a video it is automatically deleted and it shows me a black screen I am on Sony vegas 16 who can explain to me how to do it please
I don't have the bar up top whit the buttons to change preview quaility.
Any other way to do this?
Wow thanks so much
You’re welcome 😊
