I love re-watching these scenes and noticing all of the little animation details they put into the characters, especially Snufkin's. They seem to be going for an anxious introverted personality for him but puts on this barely noticeable mask of coolness around Moomintroll, like when Snufkin and Moomintroll met on the bridge when Snufkin came back in the first season. (Don't get me wrong, Snufkin is cool af, but he acts extra cool with Moomintroll, causing a domino effect where Moomintroll also wants to act cool for Snufkin.) An example would be at 2:56 where you can notice when Snufkin and Moomintroll hug for a brief second, Snufkin looks down trying to remind himself not to smile, even though no one would've noticed it in the first place. Moomintroll also does the exact same thing, almost as if they're both trying to hide from each other while sitting (or rather skating) right next to each other. Snufkin 100% likes Moomintroll, and he's definitely trying to hide it, which he is naturally good at. I hope that in season 4 they have moments where Moomintroll gets Snufkin to come out of his shell a little more without even realizing it, almost to a point where Snufkin isn't being as subtle about whatever it is he feels. God, I love this show and it's ambiguous and almost secretive subtext
I decided the watch the scene slow downed not only did I realize how amazing sniffs weeeee😀 in slow mo is but snufkins cheeks get visibly way redder too 🥲
I would also like to them in one episode, like in the anime, explain that Snufkin isn't human or give him some traits that make him look less human like Joxter who looks like a cat, because sometimes it feels like a zoophilic ship :(
I usually am not that into shipping, because I think it’s important to see that platonic relationships are not less valuable than romantic ones (and maybe cos I’m ace), but these two are clearly head over heels into each other. ❤
The ice skating sceneee D,X I’m teary eyed now (mostly because I’ve been a bit emotional today lol) but I’m only just watching through this new rabbit hole I fell in and I’m already thanking snufmin and you, you amazing hero.
