Ok imma be honest, im new to the moomin fandom and absolutely loving it so far. But what i came to say is (yes this is my otp) and while reading the original comics (my introduction to the moomins), i always pictured they spoke in an english accent....i havent even heard their voices yet until now- HOW WAS I RIGHT?? I guess the way the speech was structured in the comics felt that way(?) cuz i read stuff from english people but yknow it just feels good to be right ahead of time ùwú ✨✨
Maybe I'm just misremembering, but I saw a video about the series that said the creators of this new version are 100% keeping to the original romantic undertones of the original. This isn't queerbaiting, the fact they're not together isn't because they're scared/trying to capitalise on gay fetishization, but because these characters are based on real people. Snufkin was based on a real man the creator of the Moomins had feelings for, but he wanted to be free/not held back by anyone, they were actually engaged at one point too. (Moomintroll is also based on the creator herself)
