Wagon Wheel, Take 2
Вставка
- Опубліковано 10 тра 2012
- A long-overdue second attempt at a song we recorded in the fall of 2007. Carson McKee on the Langejans guitar, Josh Turner on the Gibson banjo.
Played in the key of G.
Recorded on a Nikon D5100 camera and a Zoom H2. Edited with Sony Vegas.
The guy with the glasses is really good.
agreed! the guy with the glasses, the collared shirt, and stringed instrument.
Seeing as that describes both of them I will assume you are complimenting both. lol
barredok Yes, that was the joke my friend.
The left guy with glasses could go as young Buddy HOlly, cheerz
I prefer the guy with the dark brown hair myself. Cheers.
I probably watched Josh and Carson's videos more than 1000 times. Myself and my late twin brother used to make music together. He played "boks kitaar" or acoustic guitar and I played either washboard, spoons, kazoo or consertina and every song Josh and Carson covered we also played together. I just want to thank you guys for the beautiful music, and above all the memories that I still have of him today when I listen to you. You guys are my heroes. Peace to you Damien
Klondike Magill, very touching, just wanted to say that someone out here in internet land cards about your loss and hope you find peace.
I just saw your post two years later. So sorry to hear about the loss of your twin brother. That must have been very hard to go through. I bet you played beautiful music together.
By far the best version I've ever heard.
Great first time I heard this version
my buddies band rocked this one
Just a thought, you and Carson and some classic folk covers for an EP. The two of you compliment each other, vocally and instrumentally. I've listened to everything you have done with each other, as well as your music with others. I have to say, it's gotta be you and Mr. McKee. Just an unbelievable sound. May you both flourish in whatever endeavors you come to, and may you both have a very Merry Christmas and a most prosperous New Year!
Kevin Silvers this is very true, love it.
If they ever decided to make another Buddy Holly biopic, Carson McKee would be a no-brainer :)
So true! Has the voice and the look.
Like anyone could top Gary Busey. In anything. Ever.
But, yes, totally.
IKR!!!
Do a Buddy Holly cover just to be certain, please!
@@dinologic yes was that B4 or after the motorcycle crash... Gary did great for sure.
These four chords never cease to amaze. :)
everytime this pops up on my feed I'm reminded of how much I love this rendition. Truly Darius Rucker's brothers from other mothers...
I agree...especially about how the first one was of a couple of amateur kids doing a nice version of this song....this is definitely very professional & the kids are no longer kids! Great job Josh & Carson...you guys rock!
I will be 62 tomorrow and you two have given me a real gift. Thanx.
I'm serious when I say that this is the best version of the song I've ever heard. As a disheartened musician y'all give me inspiration.
It's fun watching Carson perfectly shaping those notes by twisting and contorting his mouth while singing.... it's reminiscent of Al Jerreau, Mick J., Nina Simone, and a few others. Awesome.
9 years later still a great cover and still would kill for this banjo tab
Solid performance, one of the best covers I've seen of this song
I can listen over and over. Thank you guys!
Awesome!! You should record this every 5 years!! Hope to see this next year in 2017!
Ok, fellas. it's 2017. well?
Let’s hear it!!!!
Do it! it’s 2020
2021 what about now
Effortless harmonies and singing... Josh and Carson, you guys are awesome!!!
Best version I've ever heard.
This was my ex's fave song.. you guys have morphed it into a bluegrass beauty that doesnt make me sob about him but just enjoy the tune, 😘 bless you.
The guy on guitar is a ringer for Buddy Holly, also both remind me of a young Proclaimers, great sound guys well done .
Love the "Significant look" at 2:19!
Too funny cuz you caught me watching closely to see if you changed the lyrics from 07.
Gr8 to see you talented guys love and play good music. Cheers!!!
How many of us wish that work we had done 8+ years ago would still stand up so well! Can't wait to see what you do next!
Wow...tuned on one of your videos and now have been sitting here for an hour listening to all your music...got caught by your talent...simply wonderful...don't know what to say...it was an honor listening to you and all your friends...excellent...
I don't normally enjoy country, but for this I'll make an exception. It's the vocal harmonies in the chorus that do it. Such a nice melody. Makes me feel nostalgic and calm.
THIS IS THE BEST arrangement i have ever heared!!! :D AMAZING :) I don't find any words for this music :) BIG like :) Thank you very much for this experience!
These guys are exceptional. They can play any style music. They both have exceptional voices with great dynamic's in how they sing. They have an amazing well rounded concept of music. They are a great inspiration to all musicians.
This is great cuz I can do the 3rd harmony part ... Josh I like your taste in music, so many great songs to choose from and you're hitting them out of the park!
Sublime Gents! Very tasteful banjo intro and break, Josh. Cheers!
Great memories always surface with this song. Wonderful cover, beautiful and just like I remember first hearing it.
you fellas are proper singers; beautiful. stunning.come to Ireland. pm
Just cannot get enough of you two.
That's beatiful guys! Love from Uruguay.
You guys have an amazing ability to make songs I don't really like sound fantastic.
The guys with glasses are very good
MAN ALIVE !!!! I would purchase a CD of these two right now. First, I hope they remain close, keep making music together ! Do NOT get caught up in the use of drugs and alcohol so that the GOLD in you does not become tarnished like TIN.
I love it. Great harmonys.
11 years ago I am listening to this in 2023 absolutely supper
I got into this song by watching the Old Crow Medicine Show video, but I clicked on this video on the side list and enjoy it loads better! x50 later... Must be the bluegrass background and such.
I don't listen to you guys playing this song often, but when I do, all my neighbors get to listen too.
Saw Josh on GMA. Went to the channel and behold ! Two great musicians and singers. Thoroughly enjoyed the music. Hope y'all have a great future with the music.
Speaking words of wisdom
Let it be.

Awesome axes! Even better vocals! Stupendous! BRAVO!! Stay with it, brothers ...
I'm surprised these two aren't known more widely, they're amazing.

Josh, is there anything you cannot play? You are the definition of a true musician. You guys are really good.

this is what makes them so great...the song has a story in it and they sing it like its them who lived that story :-)
Josh, there are some people who can just harmonize with anyone at anytime, you are one of them.
Hey guys you’ve got a bright future ahead of you don’t mess it up I’ve been playing the banjo since 1974 you’ll do a good job

Excellent Job Fellas! You are both an inspiration and a discouragement! It's inspiring to see how talented people can be (although I can only imagine how much work/practice you guys had to put in). It's discouraging because, no matter how hard I work, I don't think I will ever be THAT good!
Thanks and keep it up!
Terrific version. Thanks so much for sharing this and also the banjo tutorial. I too keep coming back to this version.
This is a joy!
So great! I've heard this song covered a few times, this is definitly my favorite.
Not sure why I only just now saw this but great job 👏
This is one of my favorite songs and you guys are one of my favorite bands playing real music. Fantastic job with this piece!
The breaking of the fourth wall at 2:19 had my laughing my fool head off!
I’m in love with them.
The guy with the glasses reminds me of Buddy Holly. Both are great musicians. Talented young men!
Excellent! I thoroughly enjoyed this performance.

You two are great!
I love this...this song was the first song I learned how to play & 7 years later it's pretty much my signature. My friends won't let me put up my guitar unless I've played this song at least once. Great job, guys!
Damn it, these boys are good ,,!
Holy shit! It's the American Proclaimers! Great job.
