I haven’t weighed myself in over a year. I have just focused on my progress in the gym, how I’m feeling, and how my clothes are fitting. I have had to learn life is about moderation, for me personally I cannot cut out food I love completely or else I binge on them eventually. It’s just learning about yourself and being honest with what works for you. I also remind myself that since it took years to put on, it’ll take years to take off and I have really found peace with that. I was aiming to change my life, not the next 6 months.

Was looking for this comment!! If a food makes me happier I don’t cut it out, just eat it in moderation. Dieting isn’t worth sacrificing something that can bring you joy, plus I’ll just binge it later If I do

The one thing I was told by my trainer a few years ago was "Consistency over intensity" and it was her telling me a 30 minute walk at 2.0 mph is better than nothing. So even on the days I don't want to push myself I just make a deal, I'll walk for 10 minutes, and then I can be done. Usually before the 10 mins is up I'm in the mindset and I want to do my full workout. It has helped me so much to realize SOME movement is better than nothing. And some days after those 10 mins I just stop because I mentally can't go on. But I did what I said I would and thats fine.

@@randomaf6338 that’s so well said, thank you for sharing ❤️ I often struggle to keep fitness related promises to myself because I make it so intense and complex for myself to implement. Keeping it simple and easy + proving to myself that I can show up and do it sounds like the real goal here!

    • @Mallika99

I love “consistency over intensity”! I’m really trying to reprogram my brain to believe it. I’ve always had a “all or nothing” mindset but it’s so hard to have a sustainable fitness routine going when you’re so hard on yourself when you’re not able to go all the way. I’ve just re-started going to the gym last week and I had to skip a few days cause of my period and I felt like such shit I wanted to quit altogether. My brain was like “if you didn’t go the gym for 3 days you have to quit this all together”. Thankfully I pushed myself to ignore the perfectionist inside me and ended up going anyway. Felt so good. I’ve decided to go for a 15 minute walk on days I’m unable to get to the gym. Gotta make it easy and sustainable. Thanks for sharing your journey ❤️

Even today for example, I literally could not bring myself to go outside & move but then I started feeling worthless “you can’t even keep a promise to yourself.” So I said okay Laura girl, go outside for TWENTY mins. An hour later, I came home from my walk feeling like a new woman!!

I don’t like calling it “cheat days” or “cheating on my diet” cuz it gives it a negative connotation and makes me feel guilty afterwards. I’ve since tried to change it to “ fun foods” and “treat days” and I feel like it has helped a lot!

There is a nutritionist on UA-cam (I am blanking on her name) that made a statement that really stood out to me. She said, It's not about what you should take away but about what you should add. For example: Want a bagel, have it, but what can you add to make it more satisfying/filling. Add fiber (greens), protein(eggs/meat), good fats(avocado) etc. I thought it was great advise.

Honestly 2 things that have helped me tremendously. 1. Don’t restrict yourself too much. Don’t over indulge but also don’t restrict so much you’re craving
    2. Allow yourself a “cheat day” or “day off” but never more than 2 days in a row.
It’s a starting point to keep you going! I’m always motivated but never stick to it long term, these things have helped me stay focused without feeling like I’ve failed. Keep going!! Don’t give up. And just remember if it didn’t work, just try again. It’s ok to restart. It’s not a race everyone’s success happens at a different pace.

I'm 25, turning 26 in a couple weeks and the things that's been working for me is first off focusing on my mental health and changing my mindset. I'm not doing it to "lose weight" I'm doing it to feel good. I had to learn to love my body as she is BEFORE I tackled anything!
I try to do pilates 4-5 days a week and I find it's best cause while it is intense in the moment after I'm done I don't feel like I need to reward myself because my body isn't overly tired which helps with my consistency. If one day I'm REALLY not feeling it I do yoga! Also I don't weigh myself. I don't care what the scale says if I like what I see and if I truly feel good it really doesn't matter to me
Good luck I'm so excited to see how you progress 💖

Im plantbased also, drink lemon water in the morning and some fruit. I also been doing body sculpting and wood therapy on my belly and butt 1x per month. I love this whole Jaclyn’s journey; feel like it’s the most relatable I’ve felt with a influencer. Always struggled with my weight and my journey to loose weight; for the life of me could not seem to shed a pound; in fact I’m still the same weight when I first began years ago; and I’ve come to realize a lot of my journey was my mental health. Was brought up thinking I needed to be rail thin like the models in the 90s and that the smaller you were the more beautiful you are and it took a lot to realize the scale belongs in the trash; and at my age I have a woman’s body; no longer a child.
Still try to keep toned but changing my mental health about my physical appearance was the biggest help I could have given myself.

I get the unflavored one so I can make it taste like whatever I want. It’s literally 2 ingredients and 25g protein, you can get it on Amazon. Altogether this smoothie has about 40g of protein! I started my fitness journey when I was 225 pounds and now I’m at 177 pounds. It’s taking a lot of physical work but also a lot of mental and emotional growth for me to understand that I’m never going to look like fitness models in magazines And that I’m beautiful just how I am. Since I was a kid I would always hear other women put other people down and comment about their clothes and weight and even had my own family discuss my weight and it was always in the negative light. It really had an emotional toll on me being brought down by my own family and how I looked. I’ve always been the type of girl to praise other women and appreciate how they look and I am the same way they could be eight sizes bigger than me and I think they’re the most beautiful women but when I look in the mirror I don’t see that. I think a lot of that has come from me believing people closest in my life and what they’re saying about who I am as a person on the outside. During these past eight months losing weight I’ve really had to alter the way that I think about myself and understand that not only am I beautiful but my soul is also beautiful because I don’t ever put women down and I don’t ever nitpick how they look because at the end of the day I believe everyone is beautiful in their own way. And you can be the prettiest girl in the room with the ugliest character at the end of the day that doesn’t make you the prettiest girl it’s what’s on the inside that counts and how you treat people and how you respect them that matters. No one talks about mother Theresa‘s looks or how she dressed they talked about how she was as a person and what she did for people and how she helped them and if we can all focus on loving other people and accepting them for who they are we would have a lot less mental health issues in women and how they view themselves. So at the end of the day your fitness journey should start with altering your mental and emotional reflection on yourself. I hope that you can learn to see yourself as beautiful just like most of us believe about you but also remember that you’re one of those women that should be encourage and lift it up in your own eyes. Surround yourself with people who will always encourage you and tell you how beautiful you are because what other people say about you has a really big impact on how you feel so try not to listen to people who can cast of negative light on the reflection of yourself

At 22 I found myself having a very bad relationship with food I was 200lb when all my life I was never over 150lb. I dropped 40lb and I thought there’s no way I am gaining it back. Now I am 24 and weight 210lb. My anxiety has contributed with me always finding comfort in food. It’s something that I have been working on for a long time. My doctor recently told me that I was pre diabetic and there was still time to improve my health before it got out of hand.
I am 24 now and I feel like I put my body through hell, I have plans in hopefully becoming a mom soon and now more than ever I want look and feel my best.
The first time around I would get 8-10 hours of sleep every night if possible and that helped me loss weight quicker.

Maybe talking to someone about your relationship with food and your anxiety would be good :) Learning about how people use food when we are bored, sad, stressed etc. For me that helps me think about what I actually need. I need nutrition and I need to take care of my mental health in different ways 😊 and food is still something to enjoy 😊 I'm not a nutrionist, dietitian or a doctor etc ✌🏻

It took me until about 2 months ago to realize that this weight I put on is GOOD for me. Being a human being is so tough and unfortunately our weight is so scrutinized no matter what your size is but it’s always so amazing to hear women talk positively about their bodies through the phases of their life. I am not a health professional in ANY way, but something that has worked for me in my journey to be healthier is don't have the "cheat day" mentality. You can still go out and enjoy tasty foods, but everything in moderation. If i want fried food, then I eat fried food, I just don't have EVERYTHING that meal is fried and carb heavy and i don't eat it for EVERY meal that day. I used to think the same way, I'm going on vacation so I "get" to cheat. but then I came home and was like well I already ate this or did that so I might as well enjoy this one last treat and I'll start again tomorrow..and then tomorrow.. and then tomorrow. But when I started thinking okay i can have this one thing as a treat and not go overboard for every meal every day while on vacation, I felt better and I didn't dread going back to my every day "diet" like I did before

I got up to 200lbs (I'm 5'7") and just don't feel like myself! I haven't had my hair done in years, stopped brushing my teeth as much as I should, fixing my nails, and literally haven't done anything to my house. No decorations, nothing new..putting off projects that would make me happy.
I got extremely burnt out. But I have been working on my mental health and am doing so much better but I need to push harder. I want to feel 25! I want to feel better. I'm thankful for having a husband who loves me and encourages me..he still tells me everyday how much he loves me and that he thinks I'm beautiful 😥 What helps me the most is my faith in God. It pulled me out of deep su**idal depression and is my reason for trying. I have a life, I need to make the best of it. Some people will take their last breath today.

I had a personal trainer the first couple of month since I didn’t know anything about losing weight or what machines help you more etc. Do this for yourself and no one else because if you do it for others you will never be fulfilled or successful.. I have also recently been on a journey to be healthier for a multitude of reasons. Like you, I want to feel better on the inside, have a body that I am happy with, and take better care of my health through my diet.
Currently down 5 pounds! I try to get at least 10,000 steps a day and walk on the treadmill when I can! However, I don’t restrict myself too much with food. I listen to my body and if I want to eat fast food, i’ll do it. Moderation is key though because one bad meal every week or so isn’t going to make or break you if you stay consistent with your routine.
