they are using helium as the gas. it will increase an airguns power out put but 40%. but with just compressed air or nitrogen you lose 40% of the power. on compressed air its alone around 2500 fpe. still VERY strong for an air gun. I wounder how much psi is required for such energy. the current strongest on the market the aea Zeus that fires a 72 cal slug is 1500 fpe if you put helium inside instead of compressed air it's 2100 fpe. and that's at 4500 psi. and the rounds aren't quiet as big they are 400-800 grains. but they are beastly arounds. hits really hard too. 20mm is .79 caliber rounds too its a huge round.
@@Bigbopperairguns its expensive to do. people have been experimenting with helium and air guns for as long as these big bore air guns have been a thing. the only thing you want to watch is if the helium is leaking you might want to tighten your seals and add some new o-rings. i have added helium to a bunch of air guns to try it out. from texan air force and Benjamin bulldog 357 way back in the day to the more modern aea platforms. rarely I had to fix some seals from stock because the stock seals were old. like I needed new orings. but I think I was gonna need new ones anyways cause I put thousands of rounds through those guns. it's an experimental thing. but yes I have successfully added helium to a brand new stock zeus. it was bad ass. helium lets more air escape so you get less shot count. but its a cool experiment. I would just fill to 2000psi and make sure there's. no leaks first before filling it up tp 4500 psi.

No way, must have been a bad MIC setup. I have 3 DonnFL suppressors mounted in series on my Zeus and it's still loud AF. You can hear it down range no problem. It's louder than all my sub-sonic suppressed black powder rifles. You would need a 15-foot-long moderator for deer not to raise their heads. They must be used to people shooting just like at the Demolitionranch range the deer don't even budge when they shoot 50 cals.
Absolutely. I saw a video a couple years back of a man hunting wild boar in the southern US with a .45 Air rifle. The slug went in one side (heart shot) and out the other, dropping it where it stood.

We have a big coyote problem here in Ne Pennsylvania, and the best time to hunt them is at night. Semi auto rifles are legal for hunting these things but i wanted something with a little higher rate of fire and as i didnt have a spare $30,000 nor did i want to go to jail i thought i was out of luck. Then one day my neighbor and i were talking about this very issue and he showed me his Hatzan Blitz (that sounds vaguely gay whoops). I had no idea these things existed andbafter shooting his, which was chambered in 30 cal., i got one as soon as i could. With an additional external tank i can go through many many many etc... rounds with no appreciable drop in air pressure and theres jist something magical about a 30 caliber fully automatic rifle😊. And a year later our coyote population is well in hand

No not just with helium, it's air helium mix and to be honest we don't know how much helium was in the mix. Probably around 50-65% it's been couple of years when we did the mix. Big valve, big ports, good flow characteristics of the ports and valve. That's what it takes. Not going to go to details as I am not going to do any more development work to the Chinese for free. They copy everything we do.

Probably too dangerous to experiment with, but you could 'boost' pure air by heating it first as hot air would have more helium-like qualities. I just had a little session with chatgpt so these numbers might be off but if you started with 130 bar of air and about a gram and a half of butane, you could ignite the mixture and it should get to approximately 300 bar at 400-500C. It would probably make it a firearm if you did it as you released the gas, but if you had a trigger stage that did that then opened the valve it might be still considered a (hot) air rifle.

How close what compared to fifty? 50 cal is 12.7mm and shoots ~ 600grain bullets, this is 20mm and shoots 1600-2200grain bullets. Recoil is about same.

Have only tried with .457 and .50 smaller than that the sabot separation becomes a problem.

In terms of energy output, this is between the power of a .338 win mag and a .338 lapua magnum if we are judging based on his "4,400 FPE"

Yeah it's not even allowed to have the tiniest bit of petroleum based lube inside a hpa tube so injecting 1.5g of butane seems stupid
