The tanks are there to keep our copper phone/data cables dry while we make repairs. Copper cables can fail when they are exposed to moisture, and in the complex underground labyrinth of the Manhattan streets where you have electric lines, water mains, subway tunnels, and especially the steam system, it's not always possible to keep our cables safe from the elements." He walks like any cognitively impaired old person does. Though Trump would brag that he is neither impaired nor old, and doesn’t know what “cognitively” means.
I went to Kennedy High School in Granada Hills in Los Angeles in the early - mid 1970's. We used to call it jail. It looked like a prison, with ridiculously high chain link fence around the entire perimeter, cops at all exits, cop cars in our parking lots...yet somehow, I cut class all the time...so yeah, big on equipment, light on brains. And low graduation rates to boot. My sister was 3 years older than me and when she moved out, she gave me an entire new notebook where she just forged my stepmom's signature at the bottom of each page, so I had endless signed blank notes I could write to get out of class. But my sister also worked in the school office and stole a pad of blank hall passes! She gave that to me when she graduated, so I could also scribble my own hall passes! But still, many days I just avoided even entering school cuz I didn't want the hassle of breaking out later. I also remember more than once, slipping out an open gate for gardeners. And what did I do when I cut school? I would literally walk up the alley, sit in the alley and read Kurt Vonnegut. I had to cut school to go get education! If it was really hot, I would cut school and ride my bike to the San Fernando Mission, sneaking in a back way, then hanging out in the wine cellar. It had a dirt floor, tons of old wooden kegs of wine and brandy, old copper stills and very little light coming from a few small windows. It smelled musty and old but was cold when it was 100 degrees outside. No one ever went down there in the 70's...but for kids cutting school! I remember kids liked to smoke pot down there because you could hide behind all the kegs if anyone came down, but it was very rare for anyone to go down there! Vonnegut said high school is a microcosm for the macrocosm. He said Richard Nixon was a familiar high school character type. High schools in Los Angeles have gotten to be more and more like prisons since the 70's when they already were prisons! When high school is a prison environment, kids learn earlier how to break rules/laws and avoid or outsmart authority. I can attest to one good thing the LA School District did in the 1970's. They created School Within A School, a radical alternative high school program that had no required attendance, students worked with teachers to write their own curriculum, and there were no desks, just big couches and overstuffed chairs. I excelled in SWAS. And now, with a B.A. and M.A., SWAS classes were some of the most intellectually challenging classes I ever got to take. Mr. Ramirez, my psychology teacher in SWAS was BRILLIANT! In one semester with him at Kennedy's SWAS program, he took our class of 30 to a morgue which was fascinating, to be blindfolded for a day at a blind school, he took us to the adolescent ward at Camarillo State Mental Hospital which was terrifying, he had us all take the Benet IQ test one day, then the next day we took the Black IQ test, and all the white kids scored very low and all the black kids scored off the charts, an experiment I have never forgotten. Ramirez had us do endless in class social experiments that were eye opening and life changing. I had Ramirez first period, then normal classes the rest of the day so I never missed Ramirez's class but often left campus after that class, giving me perfect attendance in SWAS classes which did not have mandatory attendance, and yet horrific truancy for the classes that required attendance. I decided in my teens, based on this, that if education is high quality, kids will come voluntarily. If your education sucks, you have to force kids to attend with cops and weapons.
Wow, great story. Our underfunded education system and underpaid teachers have created a couple of generations of idiots who cannot do deductive reasoning or critical thinking. They just mouth whatever someone tells them. Unfortunately it they can only digest simplistic BS like what is spewed on Fox, Limbaugh etc.
I've seen news stories after some mass shootings where school architecture firms (hired to design/redesign schools for mass shootings) have referred to the new designs as "educational panopticons". For thosnot in the know, a "panopticon" refersto a building where everyone is visible through a single spot in the center. It is design used almost exclusively by particularly despotic prisons and is exclusively associated with them. I genuinely think their intentions are good and that the architecture firms are well intentioned but how sad is it that we are more ready to design schools after particularly cruel prisons than deal with gun violence?
The use of more standardized testing has also caused schools to become centers of control than more open type learning environments. The idea of real learning is important rather than just reading from some old textbooks and to be forced to regurgitate the information for some useless test. The best way to learn is by actual life experiences. We never prepare these students for the real world than throw them out to survive and wonder why they fail. We let kids fall under and not help pick them up. School should be about getting people interested in learning not just instutionalization.

"can't help but" is a double negative. I’m very happy about the supreme court ruling. However, we are all human beings, and the ruling shouldn’t have to have been necessary in the first place. There should have inately been protection.
Technically there were, that's what the ruling really states. "This law does, in fact, apply to these people. So stop being dicks!" The Supreme Court can't make or really change laws, it's job is to interpret them and hand down a final decision on disputes about them. It can possibly change the interpretation or rulings later, but that goes against precedence and that's really taboo in law.
The decision doesn't make LGBTQ prejudice go away just as the 1964 and 1965 civil rights acts didn't make race prejudice go away. Minds and hearts are hard to change. However, it's easier with the law on our side.
I used to work at a junior high and we had an onsight police officer. On one occasion I saw seceral little kids arrested in one day. Their crimes? Pushing a teacher's hand off of them or their desk - or simply a bad attitude. I saw a tiny girl age 12 pushed against a wall and cuffed. Blew my mind. Needless to say, I quit soon after that event.
@Emiri Lancer Realize that Trump had nothing to do with that law. He didn't endorse it or suggest it. Quite opposite, he banned some members of transsexuals (they are the T in LGTBQ) from the military. Which he won't be able to do again thanks to this new law.
That's one of the #1 reasons why the laws are still so backwards against LGBT people. People just assume that protection exists because it obviously should... but nope... There is still a LONG way to go such as anti-discrimination laws regarding housing, lending (gay couples, even if legally married are 72% less likely to get a loan given the same qualifications), healthcare (EMTs, nurses, and surgeons can decline life-saving care if they choose), and a ton of other measures.

Nitrogen Tanks:
"The nitrogen tanks you sometimes see on the New York City streets may look alarming, but they're completely safe. The tanks are there to keep our copper phone/data cables dry while we make repairs. Copper cables can fail when they are exposed to moisture, and in the complex underground labyrinth of the Manhattan streets where you have electric lines, water mains, subway tunnels, and especially the steam system, it's not always possible to keep our cables safe from the elements."

Technically there were, that's what the ruling really states.
"This law does, in fact, apply to these people. So stop being dicks!"
The Supreme Court can't make or really change laws, it's job is to interpret them and hand down a final decision on disputes about them.
It can possibly change the interpretation or rulings later, but that goes against precedence and that's really taboo in law.

@@tim3172 no they are not, the government favors the LGBT above every one else, what you talking about?
@kristof verbruggen I do not know 😉
Equal rights, when some cant even take part in the elections, like the americans in Guam?

He drinks like that then he can't possibly be a good president. 🙄

Pamela she has new lipstick....she just says they don’t make it the same...but I did find a website she loves so she’s been using that.
@@scotchmorrison2579 With drinking like that and other things, he's failing to be a good human being let alone a good president.

Imagine a 75-year-old woman going downhill in a pair of 3 inch high heels. Same deal. He’s old and he wears lifts.
The old guy next to him seems pretty cautious too. I might have to give this indecent, inhuman, pathetic, hateful piece of crap a pass on this.
What nobody has mentioned is that Trump is wearing a bullet-proof vest among other strange underwear. That would explain some of his outward look. He has some body protection under his clothes. I haven't ever heard anyone mention this, but it would explain a lot about how he looks as he ganders about.

I wish Seth would've talked about how they started trending #WaterGait on twitter. 😄 That was hilarious.
So many clever folks out there. How do we get them elected instead of the goofballs?
The A Closer Look Team nails it every time
Looks like the results of a previous minor stroke of the left hemisphere and motor center. Minimized control of the right upper arm and shoulder and he's limping down the ramp, favoring his right leg.
I've never been such a strong supporter of strokes before.
I noticed that, too!!! Right-sided arm & leg weakness!!
Bizarre that he should be weak on the right 🤣🤣
When was he rushed to the hospital?
Those police sitting and apparently relaxing in that office actually made me laugh. There's definitely something humorous there.
Seth is pretty much the only late night talk show host that I've kept watching. He's been working with what he's got, had some rough transition points, but obviously has hit home with his focus points and continuously requests support/ends with directing our attention to city harvest. I wonder if he watches his own monologues at home to see how he can improve. I feel he does. There's a humility in his ability to evolve with the times. I'm curious to see how this will effect his stage presence in the future. As well, what effect having his wife and kids around while he works has on his commitment to delivering top quality content.
Keep it up Meyers, we're grateful for you.

i do wish people would ignore trump when he doesn't do anything of significance. Making fun of the way he walks is just giving him free campaign time - any time he "annoys the libs" with something inconsequential, it pleases his base. Plus he didn't even walk like a centaur to hide his gut (must not have known he was being recorded).
humour is an effective way to deal with a narcissist
When I saw the heels on his shoes, and heard he has lifts in them as well...he *does* look like a tweeny with her first pair of high heels!
The reason to pay attention to things like his inability to do stairs, or drink a glass of water, or the slurring of his speech and nonsensical ranting has more to do with noting his obvious cognitive and physical decline. He and his administration are such compulsive liars that they refuse to be honest with the public about his health (actively lie about it, in fact), leaving the rest of the world to talk and joke about it among ourselves.
the problem is all of this could be symptoms of severe medical issues like a whole series of small strokes. this would or should make him ineligible to run again.
@@5cloudwalker The problem is his followers, people who just need that one little nudge to jump into the Trump pool, will see it as bullying and hypocrisy. Don't worry, I agree, it definitely freaks him out. But the problem is, if you need to explain to someone he is a weirdo and has a psychological condition, then that person wouldn't get it anyway. You can just tell he's mentally deranged, it's obvious, but vulnerable and/or stupid people won't see that and so this kind of thing may turn them towards Trump
But saying that it is laugh out loud to see him drink water. So what do I know

The way Trump drank the water, using two hands like that, is how iv seen _countless_ elderly people drink. It amazes me that so many on the right hold him up to be the pinnacle of health, virility, and just plain manliness.
He's hiding the trembling in his hands. Ironically, if he actually let himself look as old and vulnerable as he really is he might get a lot of pity votes
I don't think having amy physical ailment or limitations makes a person unfit to be president, but being a liar to cover up is immature. He let us know about his bone spurs.

Andrew yeah, I mean, he’s what 74 now? You are elderly, Donald. It’s fine. The average life expectancy for an American man is only 76. You could live another 43 years or die in your sleep tonight. You mean like the fact that these (and many other symptoms) fit vascular dementia perfectly? And that with his refusal to exercise, and his grease filled diet he is a prime candidate for that? Only a delusional fool would expect anyone to believe he "ran" the last ten feet, or that West Point would have a slippery ramp for POTUS! He often has trouble lifting a glass with his right hand, and on his hobble down that ramp he put his left leg forward on every step - as if the right one were weak. Vascular dementia is a little bit like a slow moving stroke as the cause is similar - restriction of blood flow to the brain. For years, Trump's lifestyle has been conducive to constricted arteries and large plaque build ups in them - which would restrict blood flow. My mother is 85 - she has no problems lifting a glass (and things much heavier, and would go down that ramp EASILY, and she has had TWO strokes in he life, a heart valve replacement and wears a pacemaker! Something is SERIOUSLY wrong with your boy. I think something has always been seriously wrong, but it is getting MUCH worse. A normal person would have simply said something like - I wasn't feeling well that day, but Trump can never admit to even a SLIGHT temporary weakness, so he has to lie! Just as he lied about the night he spent in the bunker with ALL the lights in the White House turned off! He claims he just "inspected" the bunker (as if HE would know what to look for) and then went back to freely roaming the WH! With what? Night vision goggles? But no one can explain anything to a cultist.
