ANOTHER SOLO NIGHT UP IN THE CHEVIOTS, NICE AND CALM WHEN I SET UP, THEN IT CHANGED, LOTS OF WIND, BITTER COLD. THE USUAL.. IM GENUINELY FED UP OF THE WIND.. SO IF ITS FORECAST HIGHER THAN 20MPH IM STAYING IN.

I’ll definitely be out in the wind 😂 it can’t be avoided. Yeah I’ll only do short in video reviews and only if it’s anything decent. I get stressed doing them to deadlines 😂

Look like you got set up just in time before the light went and the wind got up but what a great view you had. Throwing the Horns to Craig Charles 😯😲😳 but chicken wraps looked amazing mind, it was like watching MasterChef. The bag looked toasty but I have a dread with those coffin bags, that you get the zip up and then it gets stuck when you try and pull it down😵💫. You could see how windy it was in the morning but the tent looked real solid and just as well you took your brave pills with those gusts on the way down, cheers Alan

A dream that turned into a nightmare. Such a great adventure and fantastic storytelling. Cold wind can turn things into catastrophic experiences. Had it on my last hiking and camping trip too!

I think it was -6 or 7 in the wind. I just cowered in my tent all night 😂 hopefully it’ll warm up a bit this weekend. Atb 👍

Yeah the hands 🙌 go first. I’m always trying to pin the tent out with gloves but it’s tricky. Hopefully this weekend is a bit milder. Your camp looked epic mind. And cold 🥶 😂 Atb. 👍
Its the Cheviots its always windy ! Nice cooking pity it melted all the snow. You not going oot again lol your a wildcamping addict. Forgot to say on other vid you still getting radio shout outs. I will get down south sometime this year for a camp.

See at the start. Not a breath. Madness. It was bitter eventually. I was glad to batten down. Only drank 3 cans. The rest are still in me fridge 😂😂 that’s how you know it’s cold. 👍

😂 warm beer is for the south. I only had 3 cans out of 6. It was too much. That’s 3 camps I’ve brought cans home. I’m ill ILL I tell you. 😂😂. Atb 👍

Lol. I can remember when you got the mini mo jet boiler, you said you had trouble separating the pot from the stove, well I got one and see what you mean. Don't have that trouble with the alpkit brewkit one

Seen a few reviews on they fibrogel bags.they look to perform well but don’t pack down.alright for car camping and the duvet may be good for the hoose.👍
Yeah. Car camps. Sites. Vans. Woods. That sort of camp where weight and pack size isn’t an issue. Because it’s genuinely really warm. I’d love them to donate me a quilt 😂😂 they haven’t got the hint yet. 😊. 👍

I went out on Saturday from Kirk Yetholm with the intention of camping at White Law but had a change of mind when I got up there as it was very windy, cold and I couldn't see a decent pitch because of the snow - based on your experience, I think I made the right choice.....
It was lovely when I set off. Not a breath of wind. Once I was all set up it wasn’t too bad 👍

We’ve got one, and a double duvet.
Tried the duvet in the van and it’s really good!
I like it. I just wish it was bigger but packed smaller. The heat is lovely inside though. I like the look of the duvet too. If it’s like the bag it’ll do away with central heating 😂. Atb 👍

Just shows how well insulated you were from the cold as the snow was still under the tent, what sleeping did you use.
Unreal that. I used a foil mat under a thermarest mat. And the bag of course. Never once felt the cold through it. 👍
Great video as always Andy. I've never known the weather change anywhere else like it can in the Cheviots. I camped at Davidson's Linn once and it went from sunny skies to blizzard in minutes. The same up the Schill as well last year. Great stuff. ATB

Any condensation issues marra? Just got a Soulo, Angle Tarn at weekend, really cold (-12 with windchill) , no footprint, didn't totally vent tent as windchill was brutal. Tent inner was dry, but sleeping bag damp with condensation.... think I need a footprint.... and vent
No condensation in that wind. Only off the cooking. But it was dry in the morning. If the dew point is above a certain level you’ll always get it. The drop in temperature kills all tents. Take a little micro fibre cloth. Give it a wipe. Just manage it you’ll never stop it if the weather dictates 👍

I had Rab Baltoro on in the real cold. And Rab powerstretch the rest. Those baltoro gloves are 7 years old. Best thing I own. Toasty warm. Durable leather palms. Just great. 👍

the last time i went out because i only like my winter wild camps my gas wasn,t working with the cold so i have bought some of that extreme c300 colemans gas and hoping that will be better but what i wanted to ask you andy is whats it like in cold. i allso waiting to try out my sea to summit 4 season bag and in case im still cold i bought a fleece sleeping bag liner and one of them handwarmers you said get so got a couple of things to try mate oh and my new sony gopro aswell. anyway don,t forget to like and subscribe to andy,s channel ppl
The gas is ok. It slows down but I’ve never had it fail. Even up the Cairngorm it was -13 and it worked. Sounds like you’ll be toasty mate. What you really need though is a biigloo aero gel bag 😂😂😂
