In over 50 years as an audiophile, this player is one of the very best investments I've ever made. Also, even though I am very invested in the Apple ecosystem, I found the Android OS to be very good and the UI on this player was intuitive and without any glitches. The sound quality was just amazing, and am currently using balanced output (far superior to the 3.5mm connection) to Moondrop Blessing 2 (Dusk), and also paired with a set of Bowers and Wilkins PX8 via bluetooth. The only reason for me to use the iPhone with either bluetooth or output to an external DAC is that I, as most people, have our phones with us. I use both Apple Music and Amazon HD Music and find them both to be seamless and of high quality. The Micro SD card carries music for when there is no WiFi connection. Overall the quality of this DAP far outweighs any minor "quibbles".
Really. $1000 with tax for this? The marginal gains here? Please quantify per some valuation because the bill of materials and engineering we not equating. Lifestyle product should NOT mean pulling your pants down and bending over IMHO.
Wait if the source is silent, doesn’t that mean no sound will come out 😮
Is the M6 Ultra able to skip music tracks while the screen is off? I've used Shanling DAP and had to wake the screen before I could use the playback buttons. Maybe it's to prevent accidental touches but I don't put it in my pocket anyway. I just want to be able to access the playback buttons without having to first press the power button to wake the screen.
Not to offend you, but what’s the point of reviewing DAPs, if you think all players sound same? Power figures, noise figures and all can be seen from spec sheet itself! A review of spec sheet or a review of a music player?
Will it support Apple Music?
Noise floor is really important for my use case since I can hear a bit of his with nearly every source with my Campfire Andromeda. I was going to pull the trigger on an M3 Ultra but to my surprise, I scored an amazing deal on an M6 Ultra for 265 bucks. At that point, it’s significantly cheaper than even the M3 Ultra so it was a no brainer. Very excited for it to arrive!
Between this and fiio m15s or fiio m23 which one is better and has more power to drive over ear headphones? Thanks

I Want a compact player that offers full-bodied natural sound and great battery life. Just need the 3.5mm jack. Prefer android 12, but not required. Coming from the sony nw a105. What would you recommend for between Shanling M6 Ultra and Fiio M11 Plus ESS? Love the videos as always.

tell me such a thing. I have problems with streaming services. After listening from the card, I want to listen to streaming, and there is no sound. Moreover, I understood the problem with the output or sampling rate. After listening to high-quality tracks with a frequency of 192kg from the card, streaming cannot work with regular tracks with a sampling rate of 44.1khz. Ie, the frequency of 192khz is lit on regular tracks and I understand that because of this there is no sound. You had these problems.? And yet, with a balanced connection, the player is very hot, is this normal?
tell me, how will it work with apple music? Does it make sense to take it, or limit yourself to a usb dac? The cost does not matter
