In this Closer To The Heart guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play this great song from Rush note-for-note.
The tuning is standard tuning E A D G B E.
Alex Lifeson used a 12-string acoustic for the intro section, opening verse and chorus sections. I will be using a 12-string as well, but if you don't have one of those, a 6-string acoustic will do just fine.
After the electric guitar comes in with the verse and chorus, you will find that they are just simplified versions of the verse and chorus from the acoustic section.
I will also tackle Alex's solo note-for-note. It is a harmony solo, so I will be covering the high harmony part, which is what Alex would play live.

man, the same here, after soooo long in life trying and leaving, now i´m able to play this song that i listened all my life... it´s really satisfying. i will never in life be 1% good as professionals, but just being able to pratice makes me happy.

Great lesson !! , but I have one thought to add....am I alone in thinking that if you start with your first finger in the 4th fret of the high E string that it works a little better ? Is starting on the fifth fret of the high E and sliding down how Alex did it ? Thoughts....
