    The albums Nick Raskulinecz does sound amazing. He strikes me as the kind of guy who just lives and breathes the record making process, and all those years of experience and love of rock and roll music have yielded a huge skillset and great ears.

    I'm a VERY amateur sound guy, and Nick is definitely one of my Heroes. He started at the bottom and learned from so many of the greats in the 80's and 90's, working his way up. Hell, just to sit in a room with him quietly while he works would be amazing!!! And he always seems like just the coolest guy with so much passion.

    Great Rundown, huge fan of Nick's work. By the way, at 23:15 he is wrong; Kurt Cobain didn't use Boss CE-2, he used Electro-Harmonix Small Clone. Really different type of chorus.

    • @yobhsiFehT
      @yobhsiFehT 5 років тому +3

      I don't know how many people I've heard get that wrong - and people who should know better! lol - but yeah, Small Clone or Polychorus is the consensus. Consequently, as a child of the 80s/90s, I like a few choruses, but I always seem to come back to the Small Clone myself!

    • @aarongibson585
      @aarongibson585 5 років тому +2

      Yup yup. Small Clone is responsible for the very distinct chorus sounds of Nirvana. He also had a Poly Chorus that I think he used more as a flanger effect for some of the guitar solos.

    • @DrLothar
      @DrLothar 5 років тому +1

      Poly chorus was featured more heavily on the album In Utero, I think, most notably/audibly on the song Radio Friendly... with the modulating feedback squeals and noise.

    • @samuelguymer4358
      @samuelguymer4358 5 років тому +1

      I'm pretty sure Nick(a professional engineer for the studio Nirvana recorded in )has more info about Kurts various chorus pedals he used to record than you. He likely used different pedals live than in the studio or on certain recordings. Bunch of internet dweebs who reads heresay and rumours from other internet dweebs.

    • @davidkronzek6305
      @davidkronzek6305 5 років тому +1

      @@samuelguymer4358 Of course he knows more than me. It's just... I have both pedals and the Small Clone is "instant Nirvana" whilst the Boss Ce-2 merely gets you in the "Nirvana ballpark". Maybe Kurt used both pedals, maybe he didn't, that's not the point; I just don't want some 10 year old Nirvana fanboy to spend a lot of money on a ridiculously expensive vintage japanese Boss Ce-2 and never get the sound that he is after.
