@@adambartlett2780 Nor is it xenophobic to not wish to press one for English. Do other countries have to press a number for their own language? Seriously?
There is no logic, and do not be afraid to defend. The propaganda makes people think that a suffix of “ phobia “ is a character flaw, but it simply means that you are impeded by a particular situation. A thermophile is an organism that thrives in heat. A Thermophobe is impaired by heat.
I think that the United States should revoke the policy of 'if you're physically born here, then you are automatically a citizen'. I think it should be revised to say that 'If you are born to a naturalized citizen who is so either by birth or through the legal process of acquiring citizenship, then yes, you are a citizen'. Removing that corollary would reduce the amount of illegal immigration by a substantial amount. A significant number of immigrants come to this country for the specific purpose of birthing a child here, which is certainly a way of circumventing the naturalization process.

This conversation circles right back to the original problem. We are now spending enormous sums on illegal immigration when we haven't fixed the issues our own citizens are experiencing, like in those underserved neighborhoods in DC.
Not sure, how much do we spend? They contribute 96 billion in tax revenue and allow many hospitality and construction businesses to exist. Their contribution to US GDP is estimated to be more than a trillion USD. Take them away and the tax base and budget to care for own ‘citizens’ shrinks.
Business that requires illegal activity are complicit, so until we have zero unemployment your point is moot. We have resource limitations, not manpower limitations.

He agreed to amnesty in return the democrats agreed to secure the border. 38 years later, the democrats haven’t done squat. Never make an agreement with the democrats. They always lie. Reagan’s was only supposed to be for an estimated 1.5 million illegals. It ended up being close to 4 million. Shows you how much the estimates are off for the number of illegals in the country.
We now have approximately 22 million illegal immigrants in the United states It’s definitely time someone get serious about solving this problem. Even if trump is able to deport a million people a year, it will hardly make a dent
If the government targets business's that employ them with even a moderate tax increase these people will have no option but to leave on their own accord. If they can't work they won't stay in these numbers.
There’s definitely more than 22 million. Look up known and unknown getaway numbers from Border Patrol each year and start adding the numbers up. Those old numbers get cited from census statistics, but what about those who didn’t answer that question?
That's good, because this is my math to begin calling MASS deportation. Clinton deported 12.3M (1st=5.4, 2nd=6.9), the most since Reagan. I give Trump about 75% more due to Biden's mess at the border, so 12.3*1.75=21.5M. Trump deported 2.0M thus far (lowest since Reagan), so he still has 19.5M before I call it MASS deportation. So 22M is still no MASS deportation.

It will hurt everyone but the do nothing or incremental bandaid fixes can’t go on. No one has a problem with immigrant labor, it’s illegal immigrant labor.
@ Increase of course. No one is ignorant of that fact. However it’s getting more expensive now with the illegal labor. Do you support a second class labor pool in the country?
@@m.k.738 Firstly, I think many people are indeed "ignorant of that fact." Second, when you say it's "getting more expensive" I'm not sure what you mean. You just agreed that prices would increase without them, so you can't be referring to the price of what they produce. So, what's the "it" that's getting more expensive? If they're undocumented, then they're not eligible for Federal benefits. It's true that in some cases the sheer increase in numbers puts more of a drain on local public services (also, cities like NYC have a "right to shelter" law, so that requires more use of local resources.) But if they're working, then they're contributing to GDP (economic output), which also means they have income to pay for things (which in turn leads to greater GDP.) So, I think they should all be allowed to work. As for a "second class" labor pool, no I don't support that. Hence my comment that everyone should have the right to work. In fact, I think all workers should have the right to bargain collectively, regardless of immigration status, so, no I don't. The point for me is that we should have an economy and economic institutions where everyone who works has a living wage, period. That isn't only about supply & demand (of labor) -- it's also about policy choices. It's about how the enormous wealth produced by this country is distributed. Kicking out a bunch of workers is, at best, a distraction from the real problem, and in any even won't solve it.
@@GoSolar Then why have citizens at all? “It” was referring to food prices in general. Prices continue to go up but they never come back down. What you are describing sounds to me like a tiered system that is split between labor and manager with GDP being the main concern. Sorry so sloppy in the reply on the move.
@@m.k.738 no, prices in general almost never go down. That's called "deflation" and it only happens when there's a severe recession. For example, there was a small amount of deflation in Spring 2020. There was deflation briefly during the financial crisis of late 2008- 2009. And there was deflation during the Great Depression. At all other times, prices increase. What changes is the *rate* of increase. So, now, inflation is down to around 2.6%, so prices have gone up by that much (compared to last year.) That's around the "normal" inflation rate. (In 2022, it was over 8%.) But wages in the last year or so have mostly caught up. So, the real wage (the nominal wage divided by the price level) is now higher for the average person than it was in 2019. It is *lower* than in mid 2021, just before the big inflation surge. So, in that sense, people are still feeling it. But the point is, apart from prices going down, the other way to get more purchasing power is for wages to go up. That's what's been happening the last couple of years, because unemployment is low -- and that's expected to continue. As for the question of something "tiered" between "management and labor" -- sounds like you're describing capitalism. In every capitalist firm, there's a hierarchy, where managers work for capitalists, and managers supervise labor. So, I'm just describing what exists. GDP is both the total output of a country, and its total income. The US GDP now is around 29 trillion dollars. That means, in total, people in the US have 29 trillion in income. Of course, the *distribution* of that income is another question, with some people having a whole lot, and others a whole lot less. I'm saying that when anyone works, they add to the total wealth of the nation. So, let them work. If the worry is that some people can't make ends meet, then we need new policies to change that -- things like increasing the housing supply, helping with child care, etc. I have yet to see anyone show me one single problem that mass deportation solves. If the worry is immigrant crime, well, first, like they said in the video, immigrants don't commit crimes disproportionately. Second, if an undocumented immigrant does commit a crime, not only can they go to jail, they can be deported after doing time (or they can straight away be deported.) So, there's alread ylaws in place dealing with that. So -- where is he one single problem that mass deportation actually solves? People seem to think that the various economic issues in America somehow just go away if we kick out immigrants. No, they won't. And some kinds get worse.
@sanniepstein4835 No, it is not that, but we must understand that the country is what it is thanks to the fact that it's convenient for the government and companies to have people working illegally and paying them less so that adequate services can be provided to citizens and of course, for the pockets of the public and rich people. In other words, we should not trust politicians.
Niall - I appreciate your compassion as to what motivates/fosters criminal actions but there are 10s of MILLIONS of Americans in poverty and they are not all committing crimes. We have to stop PROTECTING criminals by pretending they didn't have a choice. They DO have a choice not to rob someone, assault someone, shoot someone, etc. They have a choice on whether they go to school, do their homework, learn to read, etc. so they can qualify for a job during school and after graduation. THEY ARE MAKING BAD CHOICES at great expense to public safety and there is a cost to that. NYC Mayor Adams said that 30% of the REPORTED crimes in NYC were committed by 300 people - they knew who they were - so if they arrest those people/PROSECUTE and SENTENCE them for 10+ years in prison - they automatically reduce crime by THIRTY PERCENT and that gives them time/resources to focus on reducing it even further. Lack of prosecution all over the country in Democrat Cities has led to a degree of lawlessness that is UNSUSTAINABLE..
What would happen if the US gov. declared the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua a terrorist org.? If arrested by the Feds would they go Guantanamo Bay detention camp?
There is strong evidence that more cops = less crime. There is not strong evidence however, that particular approaches are materially more effective than others. In other words, there's no statistical evidence that stop n' frisk works better than other types of policing.
Illegally entering and/or staying in a country illegally is a CRIME hard stop....zero sympathy. I wonder if either of these two hosts would be fine with somebody breaking into your home as long as they didn't do anything else....my guess you would call law enforcement
The Bible and Deportation: “With Matthew 25 and Leviticus 19, it should be a lens of compassion and the rule of law,” he said, going on to also cite Romans 13. “Obey the government as it pertains to laws that are in there for the preservation of liberties, and rights, and the security of families and homes.” > Never before in human history has any nation permitted over 10 million people, undocumented, without us knowing who they are, to come into any respective nation.”

He said the 1 guy "heard he could walk in and get a free DL." He had no papers, no birth certificate, no cash, & took no drivers test......just demanded a DL b/c he was told he could get one. He threw papers everywhere....stormed out the building and sped off. Absolutely a true story. People can downplay immigrants all they want, but there are issues that need to be addressed and I'm not gonna shy away from discussing them for fear of being called xenophobic or "profiling" people.
How is it xenophobia to expect people to obey the laws? Non-citizens shouldn't have to follow the same laws as American citizens? The laws only apply to legal citizens? Foreigners are exempt? I don't understand this logic.

Time to re-enlist in the military
It will hurt everyone but the do nothing or incremental bandaid fixes can’t go on. No one has a problem with immigrant labor, it’s illegal immigrant labor.
And what do you think will happen to food prices when that labor is deported?
