My guess is - if there are three monsters who suddenly enter your life, and two of them are blatant in their monstrosity (in their own ways), then the third one who keeps speaking sweetly to you, presenting herself as relatable, and hiding her fangs behind smiles, suddenly becomes a lot more concerning. What is she trying to get? What does she get by hiding it? At least with the other two you know where you stand

Seeing Alex as a vampire once a week is also something that lightens my week. Love you, you fantastic, creepy monster.
Lex Smithee the game drsatanrx (fantastic name, that) is referencing is VtM: Bloodlines. It’s available on Steam. You’ll need a patch to play it, as it badly glitches at the end normally, but the patch is super easy to install. Once you do this, it’s one of the best games you’ll ever play.

2:44:02 onward...my god the storytelling was so captivating here. I love how Jason takes the time with each character to ask them what they are doing or how they are feeling about what happened. It's like each player gets so deep with their character's thoughts and feelings and actions. Even Nelli's simple "...Yes, very much so." felt so personal, I feel like I'm getting an inside peek into their hearts and minds -- I haven't really felt this connected to a tabletop rpg story ever. Love these players and Jason's ability to guide their story. What a treat!
I love how Jasper seems to be the only one who gets that instantly murdering anyone she even vaguely interacted with during her first few weeks as a vampire isn't a good way to get her to tell them about who she told. Nelli and Victor are so used to distancing themselves that they forgot that, oh yeah, people tend to get upset when you take out hits on their friends...
Only problem is he looks like appearance 1 (fetish) as opposed to appearance 0 (to quote Tfs alucard in the museum: "My boner is gone"). But man, he is creepy
1:07:01 "If there was a olympic medal for sneakery, you would win the gold". Look how happy Jasper is about his Character. Example of a great GM / Story Teller.
1:39:38 Some people watching might have missed this. Nelly G committed Diablerie. It's the act of feeding on another kindred until they suffer final death, literally consuming their being. It's a severe crime in the eyes of the Camarilla and even between the Anarchs and the Sabbat usually an offense punished by death. Diablerie is usually performed on older kindred or those that have unique abilities since you will obtain a part of their power. 1:38:16 Chaz mentions Donnie/Dolly, the female kindred that the Diablerie was performed on. And that she was "their" kind, which could mean it was a Toreador or he simply means Kindred in general.
Chaz and Nellie also talked about how Chaz replaced Nellie with Donnie/Dolly, so she might've fed on her because she was jealous. (I haven't watched the next episodes so I don't know if this comes up again)
Indeed. Donna was a childe of Chaz, just as Nelli was. Nelli was perhaps jealous of losing Chaz's attentions and got rid of Donna permanently. Or perhaps something else transpired, we don't yet know.
@@KindredBrujah Interesting. Which means he is disobeying Kindred law by letting Nelly live. Most likely Chaz lied to his Prince about the disappearance of Donna, else the Sheriff and other enforcers would have caught Nelly G by now seeing as how visible and public she is. But lying directly to a Prince about a case of diablerie amongst your childer is pretty serious. If someone finds out he loses his station and possibly his head (as will Nelly).
Not in the Sabbat it's not, it's only punishable if you diablerize another member of the Sword outside certain circumstances like monomacy. If you eat a Cam, Anarch, or anyone else not in the Sabbat you can get status for it.
@@NoadiArt Maybe in some circles but the Bishop's are usually afraid of it just like any other elder. If they didn't outlaw it altogether then it's still likely they will retaliate hard if they feel threatened. I fully agree that out of the big three the Sabbat cares the least, but diablerie is the number 1 crime for a reason. It's because the people who make the rules are walking talking premium milkshakes that give you super powers.
I don't think enough people are talking about the Jasper and Annebelle handshake at 1:31:00 (or thereabouts). I rewound it about 4 times to giggle again and again at Alex's facial expressions.
Alex Ward as Jasper is currently my favorite actor/player/character in all of G&S after the interaction between him and Chaz at the factory; I'm literally in TEARS after the vampire daddy and dad bod comments
Chaz roleplay was impeccable. Manipulation, subtle and polite extortion, seeing everything as exploitable assets and resources. Even though this is a pillar archetype in vampire the masquerade universe I don't see this played so well nearly enough. So good.
So somehow I, a VtM fanatic, missed there being an incredible CR-style game starring the demon from AHS and featuring a deliciously unrecognizable ManShep. I don't know how I missed it but I am in HEAVEN! Nelli and Victor are so fabulous at playing the more experienced social/political kindred with amazing style, Annabelle is so much fun and so grounded in her humanity, while Jasper is just such a walking--er, skulking?--chef's kiss of a character. He's funny, acerbic, smart, and spooky, and that's barely STARTING to do him justice. You can't help but adore him, and all four have such great chemistry together. And this is *before* two actors from DBH that I love even join. Wow... I am in for a treat!
THANK YOU FOR COMFIRMING IT WAS MARK MEER. I saw the thumbnail and was like *hold up a second* but no one in the comments mentioned him. I've never seen him look so suave
Chaz: Jasper, according to my sources. Nelli: Yes, like the Twilight vampire. Chaz: Or the mineral He has the absolute best one-liner quibs. It's fun to hate him.
I've looked through the comments and I didn't see any explanation of diablerie so here it is: Nelli either ate the heart or sucked all the blood out of another elder (or at least more powerful or lower generation) vampire. Suuuuper bad juju for Nelli but it seems like she gained some cool skills out of it.
To piggyback off of this for the uninitiated, diablerie is, as Ben Botanel said in the parent comment, an ludicrously bad thing to do. It’s incredibly frowned upon, to the point that if Issac Abrams, the Baron, found out, she would most certainly be marked for a Blood Hunt (which is when the Baron or Prince of an area declares that all vampires in their territories are duty-bound to hunt down and kill the target). The Baron would do this, because one who is willing to diablerize is likely willing to kill their superiors for their power, and this cannot be allowed.
Two things matter when it comes to diablerie. Is the diablerizing Vampire of lower generation or not, and do they drink the soul of the victim or not. If the Victim is of an older gen and is drained blood and soul the older gen vampires personality will gradually take over until they effectively will become that person. I'm not sure what can or can't happen when a younger vampires soul is diablerized though. Many things could be happening to our dear Nelli
@@Fangs1978 in order to take the "knowlage" or disciplines of the other vampire it has to be lower generation than yours and you need to "drink" his soul in an opposite roll of will power, if you win the dice roll, you kill completely that vampire and adquire more power, if you lose... he or she will take control of the diabolist and keep all the knowlage but in a different body. at least that is how it used to be, i don't know how it works in V5
@@esteban20969564 The Sabat most certainly would take her, even so the Anarcs can be a little more tolerant of diablerie, in some cases, as long as it's kept quiet and done for a good reason.
This is incredible. I discovered these videos yesterday and can't stop watching. Hats off to every single player for playing their characters marvelously, and to Jason for being a fantastic storyteller setting an appropriate mood. Favourite part so far, by far, and I'm loving him and Nellie's complicated relationship!!
This cast is freaking awesome! I love the dynamics between them all. The experienced ventrue and toreador, the kind but cautious nosferatu and the fledgling brujah who's trying to make sense of a world she never knew existed and is now just realizing that when Victor told her before they went to the Baron that this was life or death and that the Baron was now her boss, he meant it. It was great the way Erika played Annabelle having the warnings go in one ear and out the other up to and until her friend died and reality set in. She has no rights, the people she cares about will likely never see her again for their own safety and unlife will not care one way or the other if she lives or dies. Victor threatening her if she puts Mark in danger was just the cherry on top with a chef's kiss because it was obvious that after what happened with Chris that it was now setting in for her, her having an attitude or being careless will get people killed.
Dude their like a weird awesome family, Nelli and Victor are mom and dad, and Jasper is the weird but cool older brother, and Annabelle is the baby I AM HERE FOR IT.

@@JasonCarl Jason, after watching it back again, do you think the skill checks add to the experience? Sometimes I just think they look like speed bumps that threaten to detail the smothness of a scene or to make characters look bad or silly.
@@thiagombp Good question! Every roleplaying game and group is different, and no two Storytellers handle Skills the same way. Generally, I require a check whenever I think the outcome is sufficiently in doubt, and always when using discipline powers where a check is required by the rules.
Dat Toreador Chaz, i was smiling like an idiot after the moment he arrive. His acting so inimitable and funny. Douchebag Toreador (Perfect stereotype) :D Marvelous job!
I like that Victor basically told Annabelle to have respectful sass.
Every time I hear, "I activate 'Awe'.", I think:
Group: Awwww...
Narrator: I said, "Awe." A-W-E.
Group: Ooh...
Narrator: That's better.
Interactions between jasper and Annabelle are pure gold.
I'm loving Jasper's tenderness. He's the most "human" of them, and I'm sure the irony isn't lost on Annabelle. I wonder if there'll ever be something between them
Well, he didn't feed on her so that's a good sign
Not that she's going to care much, because, no matter how situationally, they left her cold an d alone in the sewers
@@duncanallaire2392 that is the catch, yes.
I can't yet tell if I like them as siblings, bffs, or just straight-up ship them, but they are developing a connection fast. We'll have to see how well it weathers things and grows in time.
She already has a boyfriend and a girlfriend, you wanna grow a harem for Annabelle? ;)
DynamicWorlds I see them as best friends/sibling figure.
"I dont trust you."
"Really? Out of all of us?"
To anabelle, Victor ripped out Chris's throat, Jasper looks like Nosferatu, And Nelli has... climbed a building, and mightve seen a ghost.
Yeah, out of all of you, Nelli sounds the most trustworthy at that point in time
although i really would trust Jasper, since he is being nice to her, while Nelly is always sassy. Victor is a cool guy, but he looks like that business man who screws you and says "hey, nothing personal"
I love how talliesan's one shot predicted that Erika Ishii was going to join the vampire crew.
He also shaved her head!
I will say, it took me 5 episodes to get into CR. I was hooked after an hour of the last session. I've always been on the fence about VtM, but you guys have fully convinced me to dive head first into this unique experience!
Seeing Alex as a vampire once a week is also something that lightens my week. Love you, you fantastic, creepy monster.
Defi itely need to check out the pc game for VtM. Its one of the best games i think ive ever played
To be fair the Underdark arc isn't very good. I only got hooked when they returned to Emon and met up with Gilmore.
@@TheComicBookJoker Don't know why people say this, played it with no patch and only had to use console commands once. After watching a playthrough with a patch installed I think it was honestly less-buggy unmodded
Thanks for the kind words! Welcome to the #vamily, and thanks for watching our story. :)
Alex plays the Nosferatu absolutely perfectly!
He does say in episode 1 that he isn't as old as them, so he's probably more connected with his humanity still
@ 1:57:09 Victor -- "There's always free cheese in a mousetrap." -- Great line.
That's actually a common Russian saying. "Free cheese can be only in a mousetrap"
can i just say that watching this man emboy a nosferatu is the best thing and brings a smile to my face.
This is great roleplaying. Really immersive.
I don't think enough people are talking about the Jasper and Annebelle handshake at 1:31:00 (or thereabouts). I rewound it about 4 times to giggle again and again at Alex's facial expressions.
"I'm Commander Shepard, and Vampire: The Masquerade is my favorite RPG on the Citadel."
We'll fang, okay?
Commanders of Sheep? Are we having fun with farm animals?🐑

Chaz was played by Mark Meer who was the voice of the male version of Commander Shepard in the mass Effect games.
Damn that's cool.
I'm Chaz and Highlander is _definitely not_ my favourite club in L.A.
I just realized Chaz is played by Mark Meer...who also voiced male Shepard in the original Mass Effect trilogy :O
Yes. :)
A few years back he was on D20 live in a Sci-Fi game setting. He was hilarious. I suggest you check it out : D
He appeared on several Geek and Sundry shows the day he did this. He was if possible even better in Callisto 6 =)
@@lavrentivs9891 yes hard agree, he was awesome in Callisto 6!!!
really? that didn't sound as shepard at all
Annabelle: "You really need to work on your apologies."
Jasper: "No I don't."
This moment cracked me up.
Chaz is so in character that he makes the storyteller role his dice for him lol
Annabelle and Jesper are really hard roles to pull off and those two are nailing it!!!
I NEED Jasper's backstory!!!! NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED IT!!
Asha Hall Be patient. ;) eventually in later episodes we get some more pieces. Not big ones, but juicy enough.
@@ZenZudokai Juicy is one way of phrasing it indeed
Oh gods........my interest is piqued now.
you're willow from zland
When the party got split it was super impressive how Jason jumped from scene to scene
Alex Ward as Jasper is currently my favorite actor/player/character in all of G&S after the interaction between him and Chaz at the factory; I'm literally in TEARS after the vampire daddy and dad bod comments
"Jasper did you guys kill Chris?"....top shelf guys.
Good heartfelt gaming.
I must admit, I would kill for a novel about this from Annabelle's POV.
Chaz really sounds like Scar from The Lion King at some points, especially with the tutting and "It'll be our little secret"
Chaz is played by Mark Meer who is best for playing the male commander Shepard from the mass effect trilogy
Chaz's mun is incredible. I haven't seen someone that deep in character since Darin DePaul.
Wait. He played in this (first time watching this kind of videos by the way)???
@@vsfangirl9526 No Darin played in crit role and on shield of tomorrow. But you can tell he's something special.
@@Lukos0036 Alright thanks!
1:33:31 Vampire Daddies and Dad bods. One of the best exchanges of the series so far XD
"Ib, get her a new phone. Android. You're an adult, now." XD
Chaz roleplay was impeccable. Manipulation, subtle and polite extortion, seeing everything as exploitable assets and resources. Even though this is a pillar archetype in vampire the masquerade universe I don't see this played so well nearly enough. So good.
I'm sure I won't only speak for myself when I say this but I love Jasper with all my heart and soul, this man is such a wonder
Not just me then- isn’t it neat?!
What's AHS
THANK YOU FOR COMFIRMING IT WAS MARK MEER. I saw the thumbnail and was like *hold up a second* but no one in the comments mentioned him. I've never seen him look so suave
Chaz: Jasper, according to my sources.
Nelli: Yes, like the Twilight vampire.
Chaz: Or the mineral
He has the absolute best one-liner quibs.
@@TheComicBookJoker i can assure you that the sabbat would gladly welcome her with open arms, specially her antitribe cousins ;) XD
Jasper is my fav so far. The fact that a Nosferatu is the most human of them all is...warming.
Alex Ward plays him so marvelously!
I am used to critical role. This is on another level. I am immensely impressed.
Two episodes in and I am hooked. Jasper rocks and damn is Chaz fantastic. All in all a great group of players and Storyteller.
Watching Alex’s mannerisms are so much fun
ANNABELLE HAS TOLD EVERYBODY AND THEIR GRANDMOTHER ABOUT THIS
I guess everybody and their grandmother are gonna die then ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Well I mean… wouldn’t you?
This is incredible. I discovered these videos yesterday and can't stop watching. Hats off to every single player for playing their characters marvelously, and to Jason for being a fantastic storyteller setting an appropriate mood.
I have to say though that I am most impressed by Chaz. Absolutely floored by the improv , character study, commitment, and roleplay. Favourite part so far, by far, and I'm loving him and Nellie's complicated relationship!!
Alex: "... I keep living because I don't take chances..."
Also Alex 3 seconds after: *rolls a dice literally taking a chance* "I get hungrier"
Jasper doesn’t take chances but by god Alexander ward does and it’s great lmao
One of my favourite guest of all the season (and the others were all good). He really sold the "Vampire" role.
I mean I like Mark, as any good Mass Effect-fan, but c'mon! Dont tell me that he was better, than Taliesin!
@@David_Blake91 Out of all the guests, I concur. No one was better than Taliesin.
I personally found Mark neck & neck with Satine. Won on photo finish.
@@David_Blake91 To be fair, i love Taliesin, he played a shitton of Vampire, he knew the lore, he knew all the clans, I don't think Mark is as experienced as him so that's a plus for him :) . Just me endlessly re-watching this series because it's over now. Ya'll changed my life, thank you so much for taking us on this journey.
I've gotta say it: the one thing that made this show click with me 10x harder than Critical Role and the one reason I'm so invested in it is definitely Jasper. Everyone has undeniable charisma, they're all cool, but Jasper is that one guy who just casually steals the spotlight by just existing. Even when he's not actually playing, Alex is always in-character, even on the background, and that's super fun.
"Hey, I'm sorry you lost someone."
