  • Our last full day in Yellowstone was reserved for what we anticipated to be one of the most majestic vistas in all of the park. the Grand Prismatic Spring. We hiked the short 1.5 mile trail up to the overlook of the spring. Then took to the boardwalk along the rim. Finished at the spring, we decided to hit the Lower Geyser Basin and various other stops we hadn't yet hit, including the Mud Volcano, Virginia Cascades, and Lewis Falls. Knowing we would be on the road early the next morning was bittersweet. Yellowstone was coming to an end but there were more sights to see on the way home and we would be returning knowing we got the full Yellowstone experience. The kids would be bringing back core memories that hopefully inspire love for the world around them.
