One of my favorite short side roads in the park is Fire Hole Lake Drive, just north of Grand Prismatic. It's is a great place to get away from the traffic on a busy day and has a lot to offer.
The weather was perfect yesterday because all the animals at animal kingdom were very active! It’s been great so far. Come join us for lunch today. Lol
@@WereintheRockies good news about the animals when the weather gets too hot sometimes we don’t see very many. I would love to meet you guys but don’t want to interrupt your day. Planning a place to meet might be hard
I hope you guys do a video on the plants, flowers and trees found in yellowstone someday! That'd be super cool to learn about and where to see them 💐 I started watching your videos for help now I watch for funsies
Your videos are the best! I’m planning my whole trip based of your videos! I’m doing a solo trip to Yellowstone. Your advice has helped so much! Thank you!
@@WereintheRockies The first week on June. Although I have to admit after watching your videos and you suggesting September there is this part of me that was considering September. I am on the fence about it but I know I need to make a decision this week and book my camping spot. Since I’ll be alone I’m not going to camp in a tent. I found enough options within 30 minutes to an hour of the park on the west side. Originally I was going to stay in Cody Wyoming but this is before I started doing some research and after seeing your video I realized I didn’t want to be 2 1/2 hours away from the west entrance. Your videos helped me so much I took notes and I plan on watching them over and over again!
Thanks! I did a top ten for Grand Teton here: ua-cam.com/video/L6zAFkp5X2Y/v-deo.html. Maybe not as succinct but it was early on in my UA-cam journey. lol. Full of useful info though. Thanks for watching!
How do you NOT have MORE subscribers??? We, will be there in July... because of your Channel and the multitude of your video’s... I have my list of things to do durning our 7 day stay. THANK YOU!
Thanks for the tips. My wife and I have gone to Yellowstone twice. Once in 2015 and again in 2018. It's deffinatly our favorite national park. So much diversity. Plan on going back at least once while we're on our big trip out west starting in April. Hope you are enjoying Disney. Not sure if you're still there or not. 👍👫🙏
Still here! It’s been great. Thank you. Epcot tomorrow and Magic Kingdom Tuesday. Will be fun to make videos on Disney as well. Thanks as always for watching. Your trip is right around the corner
I have been loving your videos, I am planning a trip for next year. I was wondering if I were to pick two different places to stay in the park to see everything, Which places would you recommend. I had originally thought of West Yellowstone, but after doing much more reading, it is becoming much more apparent to stay in the park. Canyon Lodge is in the middle, would it be best to just stay there the whole time? We are retired and have no time constraints and then we are heading to Grand Tetons after Yellowstone. Thanks.
Canyon would be an amazing place! Only issue is Lamar is far away because of the road closure. If you stayed a night or two in gardiner or even one in gardiner and one in Cooke city, it would be amazing. But I know that’s kind of a hassle. I have a special connection with retired people because of my day job. Haha. Anyway, I really think you would like my audio guide. Lots of history and stories.
Great video 👍 hopefully we will be coming to the area in September if we can travel from England 🇬🇧. Are some things closed in yellowstone this year thank you
Not sure yet. Only thing I know is one of the roads is still closed due to construction. Hope you can make it here. I think you will be able to. We may travel to Europe this year.
I know when we were there the hike was unofficial. You had to know where to go, no signage at all. I don't know why steps and a viewing platform have never been built. One of the most incredible sights I've ever seen.
I enjoy your family approach to your videos. One small correction, Mount Washburn is not the tallest peak in Yellowstone. It's Eagle Peak. But Mount Washburn is an enjoyable hike.
Love all your videos on Yellowstone.. and the Grand Tetons we watch them all.. so we decided to go there this coming June.. looked up the hotel's you were talking about in your other videos.. like Kelly's inn, days inn.. but there prices are extremely high right now.. do you know why? .. $200 to 300 per night.. that for June 5th to June 8th.. This is with sites like bookings, TripAdvisor,
Hmmm. Well, I’m not sure if it’s because it’s the middle of the summer or if places are charging more due to covid. I think when we last went there it was fall so the prices might have been lower. Thanks so much for watching our videos. We just released a guide to yellowstone if you’re interested. It’s on our website www.wereintherockies.com. Working on grand teton guide now. Hope you have a fantastic trip.
Went to Yellowstone in 1996 as a 12 year old. My favorite sight was the travertine terraces. I have been telling people about them for years. I'm really sad it doesn't look the same anymore...I was really looking forward to showing my kid. :(
Brink of the Upper Falls is a short walk and a 30 minute stop. Brink of the Lower Falls is .8 miles, but it is a steep walk (600 foot drop). So that would take longer than Upper Falls.
I haven’t done that hike. Generally I recommend spending more time hiking in Grand Teton than in Yellowstone though. But I can’t speak to Bunsen Peak specifically.
I was trying to pick between the Fountain Paint Pots and Artist’s Paintpots. Am I understanding correctly, that you would pick Artists? Would you mind to do a quick comparison? Thanks!
Good question! Artist Paintpots is more colorful and leads up a hill to an overlook. Fountain Paintpots has more of a variety of geothermal features, including one geyser that is always erupting. We are releasing a guide very soon that will help you plan all this out. On our website at www.wereintherockies.com

@@WereintheRockies It was a great evening. I have more wolf pics, and around 20 minutes later we came across a grizzly dining on a bison. At that time it had gotten darker and I was more than half a mile ftom the bear, so the photo could be better. Canyon Village reservation for next September already on the books. Can't wait, and I'm taking you two with me!
Deal!!

I went to The Grand Canyon - South Rim last year (March 2020) and am headed to see Yellowstone in 2022. Your guidance is much appreciated.

I know this is old, but I love this idea as an East Coaster. I just heard of the huckleberry a few months ago. I don’t want to miss out on things.
I went in Oct 15-17. Low crowds. Great points in this video. This is our FIRST countries’ NP, too. Old Faithful was great.

What time should we plan on going to the park inorder to get around properly? Is 8:00 am early enough?
We saw many animals in Hayden valley
Are the guided tours on yellowstone lake worth the money and time?
I think so. They don’t cost that much and they are a chance to get out on the lake
Are the trails you hike to see and experience these highlight attractions strenuous or difficult or are they more like level walking paths?
Most of the trails are level walking paths but there are a couple that are steeper.
