Chris, as a grandparent of a ten month old (and a huge Chris Mann fan), thank you for this moment to laugh and reflect on the absurdity of this! My son has turned into a “formula hunter” to keep his daughter fed! He masks up and heads out to the jungle that is full of other hunters!
We had a shortage here in Australia in 2015.. I remember hoing to 14 different stores and finding one over an hour from the city that had stock. My heart breaks for the families going thru this.

Lots of Americans posting workarounds that let them buy Canadian formula and have it delivered by the crate to the US are causing shortages here. We’d be happy to just sell you some in the normal way but your previous president ripped up the trade deal and wrote a new one that effectively excludes made in Canada formula from your market

As a politician, you would make a great politician including the very dark sense of humour. Honestly it helps A LOT.
I would send a CARE-package from Germany, but unfortunateley, we have the same problem here. Our food chains work, we produce enough in our country in very high quality, but Chinese immigrants buy all the formula and send it to China. German baby food is a big business there. My local Rossmann (a shop similar to your pharmacies, but without medication) let you buy only two units per person. We have had this problem for at least 8 years. And - like in the US - politics doesn't care.

I have a special request I am learning from and listening to those suffering from long covid, you touched my heart with Your songs for the front line, and Alzheimers, could you do something to give them hope. They suffer and wish everyday that people will stop ignoring them. My Mom is possibly going to get it, My Aunt Died before Thankgiving and Celibrated her life just recently.Thank you either way you continue to impress.

On a serious note:
A Baby formula you can use.
I 12 oz can evaporated WHOLE milk
24 oz filters water
1 or 2 tablespoons light Karo syrup
Keeps for about 2 days.
Please don't follow any baby formula recipes you find on UA-cam, Facebook, or anywhere else on social media. These are not safe. (Yes, past generations used recipes like these, but the babies who died from malnutrition or digestive intolerances aren't here to tell us about that side of things. Not to say anything negative about grandparents; they did what they knew at the time.). Instead, talk to your pediatrician. They might have samples available, or they can recommend an alternative brand, or maybe even provide a tested recipe for formula alternative that will be safe for your baby.
@@jenniLB seriously? As I stated, it is A method not the complete end all beat all formula. Parents need to do what's right for their child with EVERYTHING that goes in their mouths. My family used cows milk instead of evaporated milk because that was available to them. Most people don't live on or near a farm and can get their hands on fresh milk. IT WAS A SUGGESTION FOR AN EMERGENCY SITUATION. I IS NEITHER A DEMAND NOR A LAW.
Just ask your pediatrician for how best to feed your baby in this emergency situation.
@@patriotchic3364 You said nothing wrong. I used this formula with evaporated milk with my oldest son (now a perfectly healthy 29 yr old) when formula wasn't able to be purchased. It wasn't permanent but in a dire emergency it worked fine.
To the other ladies...
Your also right. However, putting people down or trying to make them feel bad or wrong for making a suggestion is also not right. Yes, consult with your pediatrician, especially if your child has allergies like my youngest. And this nice woman who made the suggestion was not saying it so that children would be harmed...she was trying to help with a suggestion that actually does work for the short term. Adding rice cereal can also help and does provide some nutrition and helps the baby feel full and sleep a bit better. But everyone is to busy criticizing each other to read the idea and then have a discussion with their Dr to see if that is actually feasible and safe for their child in an emergency situation such as this. Not everyone will agree on everything but if you haven't talked to your Dr and tried it...don't knock those that have. Not every child given this recipe for formula has/had malnutrition problems or died. Some are very healthy, strong, and alive today...you probably even know someone who was fed this. So really y'all need to chill. Not everyone is trying to give bad advice or harm someone...they may just be trying to help in a crisis. Can't expect everyone to understand that though.

@@DesertRat5073 thank you for saying that. A friend of mine also mentioned her family using goats milk (filtered of course) and regular sugar. She couldn't remember how much sugar but with these formulas you only need a little.
