  • Welcome back to our cottage garden, sorry it's been a little while! We had some fox trouble and had to make sure our runner ducks were safe. Now we've built them a new enclosure you can say hello to them and come harvest some spring vegetables with us.

In love with these videos. They're so calming and also educational. I've been going on more walks outside lately as it's been getting nicer here in Canada, and I can now start naming some flowers :)

I just found you today as I'm interested in garden videos and old properties .....also discovered your wedding video and it's very beautiful - thank you for sharing your issues and being honest about your feelings - as I grow older, I find all I want is quiet and peacefulness and being outdoors in nature. Wish I would have discovered this many years ago!

Living in Canada is so very different from England. I have been there twice (family in Scotland and England). I would love to see and hear more about your property lay out, your town, what kind of home you have, your plans for it? I am also interested in your garden planning and schedule? In the middle of Canada last year, I had to water pretty much every day as it was a drought. We have problems with rabbits and deer eating everything. I notice that you don't have to protect your gardens with little fences like I do.
Our snow just finally melted last Friday but another province got 10cm of snow yesterday! So we can plant in a couple of weeks.
Anyway, I always like your pretty outfit and lovely videos.

Just stumbled upon this channel, and I love it! I am a horticulture student and have always been so in love with cottage gardens. Unfortunately, I live in a subtropical climate where the majority of these plants won’t really grow well if at all. My goal is to one day move to a cooler climate and try something like this out, but of course a lot of this would be completely new territory!

I’m so sorry that the fox took your sweet duck. Since the four always stayed so close to each other, does it seem like they are upset and missing the duck the fox took?

Hello, I just love your garden. Do you have a front garden also? Also when you mow do you have to go around the primroses etc or mow straight over them?

Thanks so much! We leave them in and mow 6 weeks after they finish flowering, sometimes we leave it longer but you don’t need to leave them longer

My friend, who lives in NJ, has foxes living on her property. They are quite tame, and have been living with her barn cats and have adapted to a diet of wet and dry cat food as well as field mice. They leave the neighbor's chickens alone. When Terri had her horse, Pete, she would nurse the kits in the paddock and he would come up and nuzzle her. When Terri would sit outside and read, one would sleep at her feet, usually laying a head on her foot.

I have grass from the lawn popping up throughout my vegetable garden , despite the cardboard and leaves/ compost to suffocate it . I’m fighting it constantly. How do you keep your grass from choking out your plants by letting it just grow ?
