The stereotype is a Filipina with a foreigner as "rich" and has a good life, and if she's not sharing it, then all the marites will try to put her down. But being with a foreigner brings a whole lot of new challenges for her. Like, the marites talking bad about her, the pressure from family/friends, the cultural/language differences, the ways they communicate (Like tampo is supposed to communicate, but men in general, not just foreigners, don't pick up on subtle hints), other people trying to interfere with the relationship and break them up, and all the other challenges that come with a relationship. One of her hardest challenges could be remaining humble. I think it's her own people that are putting the most pressure on her, which is unfortunate, instead of just being happy for her. What happened to "Do not covet thy neighbor...?" Thank you Lorie and ladies for the interviews, some really well thought out answers, I hope you all have a wonderful day.

What i say is true of every impoverished area. And every country has impoverished areas. In fact if you listed the cities with the most homelessness world wide, the United States would have about 20% of them with 5. Only one other country has 2. But this video is about the Philippines. So: The majority of the Filipinos don't understand money and how to use it. So it's highly likely that a foreign boyfriend/husband needs to teach the Filipina about money. That's compounded by the fact many foreigners don't understand money either. Anyone expecting a boyfriend to support anyone other than himself needs to be shed immediately. That's a principle of money management. Legally married is slightly different. The most offensive financial bullying though is parents indoctrinating their highschool children that it's up to them to support the family, including siblings, putting that overpowering stress on children that don't have the natural talents to even have a reasonable chance to succeed at such an endeavor. I've met Filipina that feel they must cheat and steal to live up to that cultural lie.
Filipina's who date foreigners really do have to deal with a lot of additional pressure: Half the people will be judging them as only dating for money, and the other half will be asking for money. It wouldn't be fair to them. As for here, at mid 70's I'm a left over Baby Boomer, the women here do not want a relationship, they want an ATM until it runs out. No thanks, I'll keep my peace, and quite. I do envy guys who can make it to these other countries and meet girl's / Women that would love them for who they are. At least that is the hope. Cheers mate, live long and prosper...
If you get with a 60 year old out of shape old man who is envious and controlling then yes it will obviously ruin your social life. Get with a 40 year old who is in good shape and actually lets you see your friends and go out when you feel like it then you will be okay sure.
