Great video, my wife gets by with 40000 a month in quezon city. It pays the condo rent all the bills and food for 3 people. She's an amazing woman when it comes to stretching a peso.
Why they have no own house though? Is there a story behind that? Because most of the situations when someone does not have an own house - is when they move to work to other city (moving out from their family house). But then - they got their own salary and don't need so much support.
Hi Lorie, These young ladies are included in family budget conversations i bet. Their answers are quick and knowledgeable. Great interview style. Steve 😊
I'm actually seeing a filipina near Naga city. The second girl in the video is spot on. 100,000 php a month is what I was averaging while over there and that's living a very "western" lifestyle.

He can marry a young Filipina, have 4 or more kids with her, and start a business there to supplement his retirement too. As long as there is a good hospital there, then it would be perfect for a foreigner to retire there. Great video. So when are we going to get the announcement of baby #2? I've been researching and preparing for a transplant to the Philippines either temporarily or permanently in the very near future. I was shocked the difference in creating my budget when talking to expats at first than when I starting to communicate with locals online. Even the ones who live right in Cebu City, Dumaguete, Iloilo City, Davao City, Cagayan de Oro and other locals I've been scouting. I've had expats that will tell you that you need at least x,y,z or you could live for less if you want to rent a shack in the middle of nowhere. Then locals tell me they live off less than half (even a quarter sometimes) of those bare minimums while still eating out, jumping on rides to the beaches, strolling the malls and what not on occasion. The woman I speak to the most online tried breaking down for me what her budget is while living in IT Park (Cebu City) while crossing the bridge each day to work in Mactan. I was floored. I learned fairly early on that a good chunk of expats say they're trying to leave the west behind, yet try bringing it with them everywhere they go.
