Nice job and solid advice on any clutch change.... change as much as you can while its all off 😁👍
You don't wana have to go back in there...🙈👌
The way you explain the details of the job and the reasons for the steps you take on an install makes the video's so much better than other channels.
#StrokaMota
Cheers pal appreciate it. I'm just glad people understand what I say 🤣
Great videos mate! Just found your channel tonight. Watching them all from across the pond in Florida. Just picked up a Mk5 GTI before the new year. Nice to see your content in amazing yet humorous detail! It helps alot to understand the process and learn new VAG tips to do the things I'm going to have to do when upgrading the unknown internal conditions of her. Cheers mate🤙
Cheers pal, good to have you on board. Thanks for the comment 👍👍
Great video as always Nick, this is way beyond my DIY skills but am glad to learn the process. Maybe in future I will get this job done in my MK5
Cheers man 👍👍
Awesome vid Nick… I have an ED30 garage toy and you convinced me to go TTRS clutch kit. Love your down to earth honesty. So refreshing 👍
Cheers pal, just gota say it how it is...👍
Merci pour ces explications très précises
Another smashing video mate
Cheers dude 👍
@@DecimalTenths look forward to mapping side of it, I run the Helix organic clutch kit and Aks braided line, is stiffer than oem 100% but when you wanna kick it's head in you know it holds up 😂
The SouthBend Stage 3 Daily is also a good clutch SMF, that's what I use on my Stage 3 MK5 GTI. And it's good for 485 ft/lbs of torque. Pedal feel is OEM, actually slightly harder than OEM by 5%.
amazing vid mate.
agree with you there, why pay labour more than once when things are off just replace, saves doing it again later.
🙌👌
Interesting stuff as always.
You have to do a video of what it like to drive after all you done so far.
Very soon pal yes 👍
Another great video as always Nick. Informative and funny at the same time 😂 Look forward to the next installation and see what power the car makes on the dyno.
Just the service I provide pal 🤣. Cheers
good job you`re hired
🙌
Turn up the boost 💨
Yeah mate... just another few hundred mile 🙌
The gun swap... funny shiz
quality bloody enjoyed this
Cheers dude 👍
Sorry for stealing your clutch Nick ........ but I don't feel guilty !! 😉😁 My car is absolutely flying and clutch is sooooooooooo light and smooth ! Great advice from team dt 👏 . Jockanese ..... !🏴 😂😂 way aye man , canny packet o tuuuuuuudor !! 😉😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣 had to give you a mention pal. Glad it's going well 👍👍
It's going absolutely brilliant. Glad you told me about that clutch conversion because I didn't know about it and was dreading a heavy clutch or worse shuddery paddle clutch. See you soon for uprated suspension bushes and thanks again to all at D.T 👏
Can confirm the helix organic gives a very firm clutch pedal. I kid of like it as it gives me confidence it can take some abuse! Out of curiosity does a braided clutch line and breather block upgrade soften the helix pedal feel at all?
Yeah it is firm indeed pal. Helix is what we have for our track car, so we love them, but I just love this more for daily driver
Got a ECS RA4 stage 1 single mass kit laying waiting for my B7 1.8T. B5 S4 disc and cage. The dual mass clutch is getting sketchy so have to muster up to get it done.
👌 Do it
What is the part number of the ttrs clutch?
Is there also like this e oem upgrade clutch for the Audi tt mk1 1.8 225 bam. Before on my tdi I always put sachs race engeneering but it’s not nice to drive in traffic when you standing still.
Sorry no nothing about Vag mate but r they dual mass fly wheels! Banging vid as always mate, really looking forward to mapping time... 😎🇬🇧✌👍👊
Yes mate, dual mass flywheels 👍. Cheers man 😁
Genuinely thought that was a diesel thing.. 😎🇬🇧✌👍👊
Hey guys what year TTRS cover plate do I need for my MK5 and what clutch plate do I run with it and what bolts ?
Catching up on your content. What are you drinking ? Tea/Coffee?
I'm a tea man, can't stand coffee...😝
Awsome video as normal what friction plate do you use just golf luk also what power can they take ?
Yes stock Sachs clutch plate. Works well
The amount of cars I’ve had over the years were it’s had a clutch but they didn’t replace the slave is nuts whole box out just for a slave cylinder
I bet pal, fit it and forget that shizzle...
Can you help me with the part number of ttrs?
hi nick, my clutch has suddenly started sticking to the floor and doesnt come back up by itself, cant see any leaks around the car but have noticed the brake fluid is very very dirty, what is the likely culprit, im assuming at this point most likely the slave cylinder.
Hey pal,
Could be the slave, the master, the inline damper, breakdown of the clutch bleeding block, failing and overheating clutch. Many things. Needs pulled really 👍
What if you're not concerned with pedal feel just wanting a durable reliable clutch/flywheel kit for up to stage 2+ power for a track car? Still TTRS kit?
Yeah, the best bit about the TTRS kit is that it uses a sachs 240mm clutch plate. You could even customise it with a sachs performance plate and make it even better. If you do plenty of track time you'll soon be concerned about pedal feel 👍
Doing same thing to my ed30. Does ttrs frictionplate fit ed30 or are you just throwing it away for no reason? Im about to order parts and wondering if I just buy ttrs pressureplate and use oem frictionplate.
The conversion will utilise the stock friction plate and TTRS cover plate
What I must do to go with my clutch replacement gti mk7 mq350
We use the TTRS setup for that car too.
Do you know if the TTRS clutch upgrade can be used in B7 A4 EA113 ?
I'm not completely familiar with the clutch in them so can't confirm.
Quick question, would you use the release bearing from the mk5 or the TTRS? Quite interested in this clutch setup for my mk5. At 492NM, OEM clutch is not happy.
Yes the release bearing/slave from the Mk5 is used 👍
@@DecimalTenths Thanks a lot! Enjoying all the mk5 content!
If instaling it to s3 8p would you install complete clutch kit with DFM or just the pressure plate ?
I'd advise you do the full kit including DMF. However if you remove and the flywheel is in perfect condition then it's up to you 👍
My clutch in my gti mk5 judders when the clutch is out and in neutral. Would this be the concentric slave? i have recently replaced the clutch to a single mass. thanks
Could be many things, but it is common for some single mass setups too.
Nice video mate, got a Mk2 TTS is the slave cylinder the same one as on your website ?
It is pal, cheers 👍
@@DecimalTenths Hey Nick, any difference between the LUK and Sachs slave cylinder
So you don’t need the luk sac tool to fit this ? I’m planing on doing the upgrade on my 2008 TTS Quattro
Wondered this also
how much would i be looking at nick for this kit and fitting, could it be done in the day? cheers pal.
Hi pal, it's £1500 fitted, and would take about 6 hrs so easily done in a day.
I got littlebit of play on my gearbox input shaft when moving up and down... Does that need to be absolute solid when moving that way?
Ideally yes. It shows that there is wear on your input shaft bearings. Some last for a long time, some don't and whine.
@@DecimalTenths Does that worn bearing cause cluch chatter? I got bad chatter on my S3. Cluch is Spec stage2 and solid flywheel
This setup any good for 350~ bhp? If not, what would you recommend? Would ideally like that better pedal feel from the ttrs kit
It's perfect for that power level 👌
@@DecimalTenths 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 does the sachs clutch plate come with the kit on your website?
how did you bleed the clutch ? pressure bleed ?
Always on these yes 👍
Drop the link where you got the friction disk from I can’t find it
We only sell the kits 👍
I’m in California you would ship ?
@@boostedcyot yeah defo, send us a message enquiries@decimaltenths.co.uk
me again lol, had my ttrs clutch fit pal and when it was fit, which was only just over a week ago the biting point was really low, fast forward that week and a bit and around 200-300 mile later the biting point has gotten quite high, around the same as the stock clutch maybe even a tad higher, id have expected a little lower but is this ok?
Did you buy it off us dude?
@@DecimalTenths I didn’t mate it was bought from aks and fit by a family member who’s a mechanic
@@arronlowley5659 oh well....😬
Is this just a stock ttrs clutch you can get from euro and so on?
No it's not
How much HP can this handle?
Weve ran 450bhp through them no problem.
Is it just a stock clutch plate used ? Thanks
Not a stock plate for a mk5.
OK mate I know its an old video but can you get a second hand rear prop damper for a 2015 golf r cheers
Hi pal We don't do anything with second hand parts. Not worth the hassle.
@@DecimalTenths how much can you get one for I was quoted 580 of lookers vw lol 😂
@David Wilson Can probably beat that, will take a look tomorrow. Send us a message on FB or enquiries@decimaltenths.co.uk with your reg and ill confirm tomorrow pal
@@DecimalTenths awesome
Hi Nick, I’ve seen a post with ttrs mk2 clutch that apparently can fit on polo gti 6C. Is there any chance you can with me before I purchase it.
Yes the TTRS clutch kit will fit with your EA888 flywheel.
decimaltenths.co.uk/product/2-0-ea113-tfsi-tt-rs-o-e-genuine-clutch-kit-conversion/
@@DecimalTenths ok just £574.99?
@@DecimalTenths thanks, will they need to be drilled?
Hello, does this clutch set fit the oem flywheel from the Golf 5 GTI. Is it a different thrust cylinder or can it remain original, I bought a whole new set from LUK 600014800. I'm just curious if I had to buy the whole set or can the flywheel and cylinder remain the same.
Flywheel and slave cylinders are oem 👍
@@DecimalTenths Slave cylinders Sachs or Luk , Thank you for help 😁😁.
@@opetdobro5389 we use sachs slaves
Will this also work for ea888.2
Yes 👍👍
Are you doing a clutch pedal spring delete?
No I like it 👌
Is that possible on the mk5? Thought that was on mk7.
@@actualziNo Not sure. I didnt see that spring mind you mines an 06 Audi A3 fsi
Think you could do with some new gloves for the next video 😂
Can't mate, skint I am...😛🤣
is it worth doing this to an s3 8p?
Absolutely, great clutch for an 8P S3 💪
Is that £1100 fitted? How many Nm can it handle?
No to fit it budget around £1500. There's people running 480ftlbs 650Nm through them. We are personally running nearly 600Nm through one
@@DecimalTenths I’m presuming it will fit a transporter T6 2.0 TSI?
you dont need to go to the gym when you manhandle those kind of gearboxes :P
Yeah heavy beasts they are 💪💪
Clutch fitted 🥱 now bring on the dyno porn!!! 😁👍
Haha... wish this clutch conundrum didn't even happen...😝
This.
Always enjoy your videos man! Can't wait to see you send it on the rollers! 👍🤘✌️😎
@@DecimalTenths awwww.... come on, admit it, you are a bit chuffed you now have a nice shiny TTRS one in there 😉😉🤣 and to be fair, with all the other work/parts you've put into it it's certainly not wasted, that thing is a frickin bad boy and probably one of my favourite mk5's out there, not exactly a sleeper but in the same ball park 👊😋
Looking forward to seeing the numbers!!
