I can't believe someone spent a few years making this game in the 2020s. Games from 20-25 years ago were more complex and visually pleasing. Some amateurs make games like this over a weekend during game jam events. I can't imagine someone playing it for fun; this game will be dead in no time once hardcore mrllama fans get bored. I love mrllama's D2 content, but this is just MrPoopRPG...

Your criticism is unnecessarily harsh. Games can transcend “muh graphix!” My favorite game since Diablo 2 is buriedbornes which has nothing but static pictures.

I'm not some llama superfan and I still think this game has a lot of potential. I'm a fan of turn based JRPGs though. Lots of games have classic graphics in a similar style nowadays (terraria is the first one that comes to mind). However, I do think the full release should have more fleshed out animations during battle and the music, while catchy, doesn't fit the style of a 16 bit game. Music actually has a huge impact on immersion IMO. If the music could somehow be converted to MIDI or 8-bit, it would fit way better.

@@blank5210 thats true for sure. Iam a big fan of retro games and aestethics, the retro/throwback games are really popular in general for the last few years. I dont need high res textures when the game has style. But this has no style. I cant believe there are 10 people working on this. Like OP said, many of those "modern/retro" games are made by 1 or 2 people and manage to look incredible, can spice up the oldschool graphics with tons of animation etc. This looks like it was smacked together over a weekend in power point. Its just lazy. So yeah, I'm disappointed aswell.
