I’ve got that exact same SM watch and I love it. Can’t say I agree with your concern about the size. I’ve got so many 39 and 40 mm watches, I was specifically looking for this larger version.
Glad you love it ; ) 7.5" wrist here and just find 42mm (checked and its spot on) is just too big for my taste in that style of watch. I have realised (feel) that the dress sports watch needs to be in a much tighter size range than say a dive watch for me.
Have ordered the 39mm San Martin now and would love to see a Vesterhav.. The Ascent is £485 delivered to UK now, which is at least £!60 (over 45%) more even with import tax on the San Martin.
Absolutely nothing against any lug width. That's my whole point, they should all be used where appropriate. It's generally not a great size for me but I appreciate it's perfect for a lot of people/watches.
The obsession with even number lug widths means that a lot of watches do not look as good as they could. 1mm increments seem sensible to me and its madness the watch world got into this 20 or 22 thing IMO.
@wristopia4101 I really appreciate that but that's a bit much for me. I was hoping to spend only 160. I know that's a lot less, but I figured I'd take a shot. Thanks
In my opinion the Ascent is too small, wears like a 36/37. Perfect for ladies. Also for what its ment to be: a GADA sports watch, not a vintage dresser!
Like them both! Thanks for the video.

The San Martin looks more premium, the Erebus looks a little on the common side.
I should have the 39mm soon and look forward to doing a like for like comparison!
The ring is the winner of this comparison 😅😅😅
Oh yes, had not noticed I was wearing it 😂
Actually both brands are manufactured by the same factory
Seems about right to me but Jody and Stevie denied that.
Ascent all the way. IMHO. In this pot I'd toss a Henry Archer Vesterhav 38, which again IMHO, blows these two away in every possible category.

What do you have against 20mm lug width??
Absolutely nothing against any lug width.

i like how you sayin SM name lol
San Martian is another favourite lol.
Good morning. I really like that San Martin. Would you be willing to sell it? If yes how much? Thanks
Hi, yes I do want to move it on.
It cost me £300 so I would probably go for £230 including next day insured Royal Mail delivery on ebay.

@@Jack.K.07032 No problem £160 is too much to lose and I would rather keep it if it does not sell on ebay.
Hope you get one ; )
@wristopia4101 I understand. Do you have any flexibility on the price, or is the 230 firm? Thanks
@@Jack.K.07032 I would prefer to put it on ebay to be honest.

Bit harsh lol.
Dressy Gada watches are so much more size crucial for the wearer than say dive watches I find.
The dial is actually low fire enamel…
Cool. Great info, It looks good for sure.
@ I like the watch I got one too , I got the smaller one kinda I like how flat it looks from the side profile.
