Makes sense but it does look weird on a watch. Better than the first one but I feel its obviously a watch so a normal looking crown would work best IMO. They also need to do an outdoor/waterproof clock if they want to double down on the railway thing Haha.

Love you love Omega 😍 6 of one and half a dozen of the other on these two IMO. My personal experience of Quality is very much a win for Rolex. Absolutely zero issues, but every Omega seems to have one. It does not put me off though.

Feels like a milled clasp to me. I do have a Pressed clasp on my vintage SD though, so think I know the difference. How many Rolex/High End High Street watches have you handled?

Thanks for your kind words ; ) Two absolute stunners! The James Cameron would be sooo good, but equally I love that the black dial is keeping step with the Sub and SD. The Blue/Black UD scratches that itch though perhaps? I find the DS way more comfortable, but there is not enough in it to make that a deciding factor. Have you thought about discount on the UD if you do get one? 15% was possible as soon as they hit the AD's in the UK a year ago, so I would say 20% min now.

Haha, thanks for your input and glad you like the channel! I fully appreciated the Klaxon warning ; ) It is a bit dull visually apart from Arabic Numerals but that's its point I feel. Probably the point of most steel Rolex. Design and build Gold Medal though IMO. The whole Everest/Moon/Mariana Trench thing means little to me apart from a good tale to tell/banter, and 'The Moon' is way way more aggressively marketed anyway. Deep Dive watches (or Invicta's) take care of the Non Dull wrist presence I guess, and The Ultra Deep is probably the 'Top Trump' winning card in that arena 😈 Congrats on the EXII. Bloody long wait, but bloody nice watch ; )

Rolex steel pieces are just the ultimate tool watches to me, nothing special (apart from price!!) above that. Annual calendar is great but I could not suffer a DJ with weird turning bezel for it. Deep-Sea and DSC are great for their depth rating but DSC is a bit big and pricey lol.

It's just so tactile. I laugh when influencer UA-camrs score it the same as a Christopher Ward!

I have tried to buy several things from them now and they really are a mess IMO. Glad you got it sorted. They obviously make a habit of sending all sorts of errors out to customers and really do need avoiding IMO. Every shop makes mistakes (which can actually lead to an even better experience/relationship), but they seem institutionally incompetent to me.

Some time ago, I bought 21mm vintage looking brown leather straps, but I've never put them on because the bracelet is so comfortable!

I would pick the size based on my wrist (if it were being worn ; ) but appreciate your viewpoint with respect ✊ I simply could not suffer another cyclops so 1000% the Sub👌 well done on your acquisitions. Sub will be my end game I think, although technicallymanaged to get on a list for a Panda 🤗

Definitely do not do it Gavin! Get a 36mm safe queen at most haha. So many watches are too small for me but stay strong and do not lower yourself to bitch about it like the smaller wristed guys normally do ; ) I would absolutely love a quartz Grand Seiko or a manual wind watch from any brand, but always either too small, horrible strap, or an Automatic!!!

Hey Buddy ; ) Completely agree on taper (and clasp width!) That was one of my points though. Taper is much easier to do properly with a bigger lug width to start from. Link dimensions and orientations (on an oyster style mainly) is another design feature (really going down a rabbit hole now lol!) that is effected by lug width. The interesting thing about lug width is that its nothing to do with wrist size. It benefits everyone ; )

No taper at all is evil lol. People say a lot of watches do not have a taper that actually do, but the difference between minimal taper and paperless is night and day to me. Some taper way to much though! Some Oris look like they were angle grinded!! The whole 'perfect' lug width to clasp via taper thing seems to elude most watches IMO.

The rubber band I have for my Seamaster looks better than the bracelet as it has some taper, but again taper can look great on a watch or awful - it can be a bit of a hit and miss. The drastic taper on my Deepsea looks amazing to my eyes but the same taper on the submariner looks too much, but is the same amount…. Same taper just different sized watches. It’s nuts how the slightest difference can make a big deal in watch world. Us geeks eh? lol

@@gavinBsussex It's another thing to geek out on haha. Sorry if I already asked, but did you get the Deployant rubber for your Omega? Omega do a lot of them for various models (including all the Speedmasters), but its all a bit hush hush.

I get your point though and would love to improve on that aspect. I do this for free and hopefully have improved a bit and/or helped a few guys who are looking to purchase anything I show (actually in my own hands) and talk about.

Have 22mm on an older Grand Seiko and its probably a little too much, but it's also a big case for a dressy watch. I will wear it today and scrutinise. 22mm+ on dive watches is great. Some would definitely be better with 23mm though!

Nice watch definitely ; ) I was tempted by one of the new ones and the introduction of the 39 was a curve ball size wise. I kind of wanted a three link bracelet like the Smiley though, so bought my wife the 31mm two tone instead. Interestingly, all four sizes have a different lug width, which I think is great!

@@wristopia4101 Yep the old bracelet is better. I have two 22mm LW on my radar now, the new Davosa Ternos 68H and the even newer Venezianico Aureo. I actually subbed to your channel because you said you like a bigger lug width in your Vanuatu video, I'm the same, won't touch anything smaller than 21.

There is a weird dislike of better watch design for some reason haha. 20mm is great for smaller cases, but just looks odd on a lot of medium to larger ones these days IMO. Micro brands just look plain cheap with 20mm. It stands out like a sore thumb when the watch they are faking is 21mm. I have kind of given up on 20mm now. I have an Erebus Assent on its way but that will be the last time I compromise unless I get a pre owned Henry Archer (long story).

Yes, I was disappointed it is not 40mm but I did not notice in the AD and I love it anyway. I have had very good results fro WoS Group (Goldsmiths), but also from a small UK independent. I went to Hawaii last year but did not bother asking or visit both AD's. I was a bit worried about buying abroad and UK situation is working out fine for me, but good advice.

@@wristopia4101 being sub 40mm means it fits more wrists. The 36mm is so diminutive I was actually shocked when I saw it. It looks a lot bigger photographed or in a UA-cam video. Fair point about buying abroad, but ultimately if it's an AD and they're on the Rolex website, Rolex would have a legal obligation to rectify any issues if you couldn't easily visit the AD again. That's the whole point of an authorised dealer network.

@@maitrehg We will never know the true numbers and I agree it was an unfair exaggeration. It's normally Omega fanboys that are vocal though IME. It's pretty rare that a Rolex fan knocks Omega unfairly, and as we have both agreed, there is truth in his comment.

Good point about the Glide Lock. A lot of people do not realise that it has three hidden micro adjust positions as well as the easy link (or whatever its called). I think the dial just looks big in the video (watches always looks bigger in wrist shots). In reality I find it a tad small for the 21mm lug width, and am annoyed the case measures 38.5mm and not 40mm!

Hi, were they both sized for you? I would have said the Rolex was the more wearable of the two, but there is probably not too much in it.

The 50th Anniversary Sea-Dweller would be the sweet spot IMO. Have only held one and had on wrist unsized, but having worn bigger and smaller I feel it would be the perfect for me size wise.
