Just purchased a 2022 Turbo Premium after a long test drive & much research. After filling up twice with Sunoco 94 octane, I put it through its paces. 0-60 in 5.76 seconds. The car has only 2,460 miles so I expect that might get better as it breaks in. I then took it upstate NY on Route 6.
A six mile stretch downhill of a winding mountainous road. Some areas speed limit drops down to 35 MPH.
I never dropped below 65 & as high as 80. As the vehicle leaned into the turns, I felt the powertrain favoring one wheel then another as it fought against gravity. It felt & sounded like a German sports car with no turbo lag. Stability was true & solid. A real thrill! On parkway coming home at a steady 80 MPH quiet as a church.
The Adaptive Headlights along with the auto-highbeams at night are amazing. Everywhere I went the road lit up like Yankee Stadium during a night game. I couldnt give a damn about the cheap plastic on a few areas in the interior. For the money, you can't beat her!!!
Awesome! Thanks for sharing!
I recently drove the Kona Turbo, Seltos turbo, And the CX 30 turbo, and I have to tell you that the Kona and the Kia have such bad turbo lag that I really didn’t enjoy driving them. The CX-30 on the other hand just flew. It was very responsive with hardly any noticeable turbo lag. With all packages being equal, the Mazda actually runs about $4000 more. That’s not inexpensive. It’s actually the top range for a crossover SUV.
But so much fun, right?
I don't care for the low mounted front turn signals. Nice looking interior and color. Poor cup holder placement. Would make a nice car for a couple or small family. It seems to have enough engine power to make it really fun to drive. Thanks for another great review, Cory.
It was really fun to drive, a point Holli makes in tomorrow's video.
@@GTGarageTalk I will be watching. It will be another fun video.
Hey there, what did you think of the steering? Is it on the heavy side? I'm not sure if I missed it sorry.
It’s heavier than others in the class, yes, but not overwhelmingly so.
@@GTGarageTalk okay, thanks for the reply :)
The build quality of the Mazda CX-30 is absolutely horrible. The plastic panels on the inside scratch so easy. This car scratches too easily period. I own one and every time I sit in it, I regret buying it
What year and model, have never heard that complaint before.
@@cherylbrantley4736hes probably talking about the piano black plastic… also the paint is susceptible to scratches as well
