Federation vs. Zeon will forever be the ultimate game in my opinion. Sure the mission were a little tedious, but I love gameplay and the movement of the mobile suits. I think it captured the 0079 era MS the best.
YES! 0079 has the best universe suited to single player, best locations and the mobile suits not moving like dbz characters makes for a better game. Need an updated FVZ
Always loved Gundam games since i was a kid especially since half of the games were game adaptions of the animes and others expanded the universe of Universal Century or more. Sad most of them never came to America especially the PS2 ones.
Wow the 1986 Gundam game captures the very essence of Gundam. FPS where you can see your dashboard makes you feel like you're piloting a Gundam. Kinda like Ace Combat series.
I had Gundam Battle Assault, and Side Story 0079: Rise from the Ashes. I remember Rise being the first game that made me drop my mouth in awe over how good the graphics in its opening cinema looked. They looked so realistic at the time.
I played Journey to Jaburo and Zeonic Front as a kid. They are the most amazing Gundam Games I've ever played. I saw Side Story and Operation UC 81 very interesting games that I'd love to play. Very excited to see Gundam BO2 is coming to steam soon. I've waited a very long time for another tactical Gundam game for the US.
I see a lot of critical comments here so to attempt to even it out, thank you for making this. As a person who’s only played GBO2, I’ve wanted to see what previous games in the gundam franchise looked like and how they evolved through the years.
I was always sad growing up at how almost all titles were jp exclusive, im glad thats changed over the years even if it's partially due to the lack of console game sales in the east.
MS Saga was a great rpg…the one flaw I didn’t like was that there was a limit to the number of mobile suits you could have. It would have been better if they expanded the catalogue some more.
There was even Japan's version of Battle Assualt. And those were Gundam the Battle Master 1+2 which the 1st was the early version then the 2nd game was converted to being Gundam Battle Assault 1 due to new voice on the title and presenting the Wing Gundam since it replaced the Hamma Hamma Mobile Suit. But those games used non-canon pilots that literally some made no sense why they exist and why they pilot those mobile suits. Plus especially to why Battle Masters 2 had that soundtrack which Battle Assualt couldn't change. Like GP02 is in a farm battlefield and Gato is there which makes no sense since the Japanese puts a farmer as a pilot. Char with Zeong having a creepy vibe intro music from a old crippled man that is literally like a mad scientist. Plus Sazabi's intro music from a dark skin/african man's theme. Even a woman that I cannot exactly recall is piloting The-O and she doesn't fit in to be a pilot for battle. They even have 2 pilot characters have 2 mobile suits as one is a federation soldier that has the original gundam and the Zeta Gundam. While the other is simply a kung fu warrior with the Nu gundam and Hamma Hamma. All in all the theme music never changed but some had fit in quite well to some canon characters
Gundam: crossfire from 2006 has given me a lot of good memories even though I wasn’t even born when it released. I played it in like 2015-2016 when my dad got me a ps3 and some random discs. I’m probably going to figure out how to use these emulators or whatever just to play this game. I have 0 clue what they are and how they work lol
For me, Gundam Battle Assault 1 & 2 are the best because I love 2D fighting style... I am bored with Gundam shooting and RPG style... please make a new Gundam fighting version with All Gundams from the past until now... !!
i wish they release a new Dynasty Warriors Gundam. Reborn is super cool (and get get so brutally hard you're effectively playing a Gundam Dark Souls), and it's so cool that the PS3 can't handle how much effects it dishes out. no seriously, it drops frames a lot when it's effects-heavy (eg: anything with copious amounts of beams like Strike Freedom's attacks). still not sure why they never bothered to post it to PS4 since it was released just before PS4 got launched...
@@Mabdog3597 In terms of US Releases, 0079 the war for earth, a PS2 SD gundam game, GBA seed battle Assault game, The rest that never made it out were on GameCube, 360, ps3, Ps1, Sega Saturn, Nes, Snes, Gameboy and gameboy advance, and some obscure japanese computer game along with one on the wonderswan
I think Gundam Breaker series and G Generation series are still the best Gundam games IMO. For G Generation they just need to make the cutscenes dynamic like when a unit get shots the map is automatically gets updated as soon as the cutscene is ended so you're not seeing the cutscenes for the hundred times.
They really need to do a Federation vs Zeon with modern takes on mission parameters, keep it in the original universe. The original Gundam had the best locations.
I remember playing a turn bases strategy game where u would have to move your units into position and plan your attacks. And u could lose unit numbers if you got attacked as well. And it had basic customizable options for weapons . Did I imagine this
Journey to Jaburo, Zeonic Front and Fed. Vs Zeon were some of my most prized possessions in the early 2000's. I remember every time I wore out one of the discs I would go to one of my local movie/game rental places and swap the discs since it became impossible to find copies of these games after a few years. I always felt bad for whoever tried to rent the broken copies lol worth it though.
What? So we'll just forget about the 100vs100 Universal Century Mobile Suit Gundam Online a few years back? Man, that made me feel like a real grunt in that game, but you can't deny the fact that you can stage dive on an enemy held position of 50 federation suits with nothing but a heat hawk and a couple of grenades!
Seriously don’t get how there still isn’t a game that’s like a Battlefield reskin with Gundam vehicles. It’s literally just a coat of paint and mechs on top but it would be the perfect Gundam game.
All this is missing is SD gundam force and the new SD gundam battle alliance lol that aside Great video. I've played all of the dynasty Warriors gundam's gundam seed never ending tomorrow Zionic front encounters in space , gundam vs zeta gundam, MS saga was my 1st and 1 and 1 and only turn based game that I could ever sit there and play and be into it the story was pretty good. Battle of salt 2 Was definitely some good memories. I ordered verses from playasia way back in the day that was cool importing something for the 1st time ever and full boost. Naturally gundam versus on PS4 and the one after that now both of the new guys just around the corner battle alliance looks super dope and the and gundam evolution despite tdespite the overwatchness it's just way more fun for me than actual overwatch. I seriously need to get back into battle operations too including that Story version they made b lue fairy I'm down for the Micro transactions just to own some of the suits I really want the GP01 and the full armor gundam
Battle Assault 1 and 2 Journey to Jaburo Zeonic Front Federation vs Zeon Encounters in Space Dynasty Warriors series They were all fun and were way ahead of their time. Federation vs Zeon was the one I played the most of all, followed by the first Dynasty Warriors Gundam mainly because of the achievements hunting on Xbox 360. However, I liked the Dynasty Warriors Gundam series more for its content, in my opinion. Big battlefields, hack & slash gameplay, stories and characters, and missions.
There was a Gundam game I remember watching my brother play in the early 2000s either on PS1 or PS2 I forget. I'm 30+ now but I strongly remember it. It was turn based, there was the original RX-78 and Zaku 2s. Movement was tiles on the floor and it was entirely turn based strategic combat. I remember the graphics were great for back then, it was 3D, the purple beam of the Gundam destroying the Zakus. Remember it clearly yet I cannot remember the title but I was just a kid then. Been trying to find it forever, and I've combed through whole lists of old gundam games but never found that one. Did it actually exist or is my brain misremembering?
To make a good Mobile Suit game they'd have to use Mount and Blade Bannerlord game engine and just reinvent everything in sci-fi and probably have the scripted events of the stories for how human history goes........... and good luck making a very nice anime shader

I would kill for that
Me too
Like Battle Operation 2 with Battlefront

There actually is one like it that wasn't included in this video for some reason, it's just called mobile suit gundam online

The SD Gundam X to G Next games (1992-1995) are still my fav gundam games....
Doe I guess they were too obscure to be included in this list.
Yep that and missing early G Generation games as well, Zero, F, Fif, etc.
