  • This is an unreleased song by Stevie Nicks from the Tusk Sessions... The Song was later tried out for Bella Donna but was canned. In a studio recording of various banter with Stevie and company, she talks about how she gave the song away. Such a shame. This could have been a huge hit for either her or Fleetwood Mac.

    I love this vocal: so sweet and fragile at times,tinged with the deep growl here and there: seemingly so effortlessly falling from those beautiful lips unto our ears.

    I find the tempo perfect... it calls more attention to the lyrics. Personally, I find this song VERY intense... it's all in vocals... great vibe...

    Wow! I came here while reading the book "Get Tusked", and it amazes me that this obvious hit song from Stevie was ignored by the band, in favor of the self-indulgent crap that Lindsey put on the album. This was the point when the jealousy and insecurity of the others got the best of them. Injustices like this are why we got Stevie's solo career, thank God. But still, why didn't the producers and Mick and John fight for her? And then spend months on "The Ledge?" Unbelievable!

      This is not an obvious hit song; pretty mediocre when compared to Sisters of the Moon or Beautiful Child.

    Fascinating...what a gem . ...they couldn' t tweak it enough to make it " good " enough for the album . And so we are listening to an " unknown " song . What they obviously considered to be a throwaway song..a " hopeless " cause . Yet it is great .

    its a good song lyrically but i think the music needed a lot of tweaking to make it more of a stand out track. the tempo could be a bit faster and music a bit more exciting and less dull. i have had this for years and i could see why they didnt put it on tusk. its missing that fleetwood mac magic. it would be interesting to hear it with more production from lindsey as im sure this was not the finished product (no backing vocals etc). just my opinion of course.

      The only reason that any of Stevie's songs back then ever became hits was because of the magic Lindsey bestowed with his arrangements, production, and guitar. Even Dreams was a mere boring, simplistic sketch until Lindsey worked his magic on it. Same for Gypsy.

    • @DamnRebel
      @DamnRebel 3 роки тому

      In fact, the main reason he left in 1987 (aside from her and MF with the booze and coke) was that he was tired of making his ex's demos into hits.

    To my knowledge, she didn't give the song away. She put it in her vault. That's why it was included on her 24 karat gold cd. Songs from the vault. She never previously released it. When the song was released, it was a nice song but not a hit. So, it wasn't a hit for her. I don't know if it would have been a hit for Fleetwood Mac either.
