The trailblazer means a lot to me, it's the first car i drove and still driving it daily use. It's my dad's car and i drove it when i was 13 to the hospital when my dad had a heart attack and passed away. I can't give it up at any cost.
My parents took me home when I was born in this trailblazer, and now I am going to be driving that same trailblazer as my first vehicle, so much nostalgia and history I have had with this vehicle.
I have owned a 2002 Envoy and a 2008 Trailblazer...the 6 cyl engine was an award winning design that seems to basically run forever. Great cars even today. In my town in Northern California there are still dozens of TB and Envoy's running around.
I have a 2004 TB with 185k miles. I've own this truck sense 2008. It was getting 15.5 mpg when I bought it. The last 7 years it had been getting 14.3 mpg. I google 2004 Trailblazer bad mpg and someone said to change the map sensor. I bought one from Autozone $80 and my mpg has gone up from 14.3 to 15.5 to 16.5 and yesterday I got 18.56 mpg after 20 miles why drive. I didn't have a cel light and the truck was running fine. I will be uploading a video soon.
Straight nostalgia. I grew up with GM vehicles, and the TrailBlazer has always been one of my personal favorite trucks. Great review and video. 5 stars!
My 2003 chevy trailblazer with 198k miles is still going strong. I take care of it. It's very reliable. Back when GM was marking good vehicles. I bought mine when it had 100k miles. I would never sell that vehicle. I get 17 mpg highway miles and about 16 miles per gallon combined. The engine and transmission are very good if you take care of them. I've had no issues finding regular parts for my trailblazer like radiator, brakes etc. Subscribed
Really loved the ending bit on the nostalgia of the car. I'm a 2002 baby and got a blue 2005 LS for my sixteenth birthday. It means so much to me, all the places and events I've taken it to. Still running strong into my junior year of college 40,000 miles later and still going strong.
I drive a 2003 GMC Envoy XL. Had it since 139,000 miles and it now has 250,000+miles. Still runs great and I love it. It's had some problems through the years, but nothing I haven't been able to fix myself. I would say the strongest component of these trucks is the motor. Very bullet proof.
I'm at 278K and got the remans transmission, plus new suspension, and repair kit welding on the chassis and trailing arm mounts (I did my own tailgate repair that looks like stucco from all the polyurethane I used but it stopped the rust!) - along with all the standard TSB repairs over the years (actually two replacements of the fan clutch did not fix the AC since the dealer neglected to upgrade the PCM as per the TSB - instead the dealer noted the TSB was now outdated and so they decided not to do it - strange reasoning. Another dealer ex-mechanic said they ALWAYS upgraded the PCM when fixing the Air conditioner. haha.). I live in a cold state - so I can live without AC. The TB looks terrible - I fixed the rust but I just did a paint mess on the body - but as you say the "motor is the strongest component." So far the motor has held up. I'm hoping to get 500K out of the car. Unfortunately the CD player just started not working - seems to be a digital glitch. So not sure I want to get that fixed or replaced.... That's a big drag but I could just plug in a CD player via the 12 volt power somehow.
I love your reviews because it’s such a good mix of every day cars and new cars. Most people can’t afford a brand new vehicle and some can. His more normal car reviews are amazing and just and great. Keep it up Zack!
Loved my 02 LT. Hearing that Vortec engine and having the option of 4 or 2-WD was so reassuring driving down the road. Many good memories in that truck.
I have one of my own. It's an LS. It's my second (first frame rotted out) I just love how it looks . Bellteck lowering kit and 20 in.XD's gives it a cool look. 😎
Nice Trailblazer and have a 2004 LT myself which I upgraded and can get 24mpg. Put a high flow air filter and muffler on getting rid of the resonator, performance tune and good Iridium plugs. It also has a very comfortable ride!

Man, those Trailblazers are great to buy budget wise. Also the 4.2 inline six is bulletproof just like the 3800 Series that Buick gave us. Still looking forward for an Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade that will be in way worse condition, way more milage for probably more money but the 5.3 & LQ9 6.0 get you nearly the same gas milage. Only complaint about those Trailblazers.
I used to always get busy in the back of my trailblazer back in the day. The size is NO JOKE. And I haven't driven a car with such a soft ride ever since. Don't know if its just the fact that it was my first car, but its my favorite car Ive ever had.
Great review! I wish they would bring back that straight 6 because it's reliable, i literally just bought an '06 TrailBlazer LT, minty fresh, clean, no rust, not even any dents, and runs like a dream with a whopping 287,000 miles on it. It really is a testament to whatever it may be you have, as long as you take care of it, it'll take care of you. I'll do a video on it after i do my first 1k miles with it.
Keep the transmission and transfer case fluids fresh. They were not built super tough!! Driven gently and regular checkups for electrical problem resolving and fliud renewal they will last a long time. The engine is really tough, the transmission is teeny inside and easy to break. Adding a cooler really adds life to it.
My first car was a 2002 Trailblazer. It was the extended version of it. Shit was a bullet, but wasn’t maintained well. Despite being a bit of a pain, car does bring memories and was really good.
The first version this model on the dealer floor was the Oldsmobile Bravada. However, this was just as they announced the end of the Oldsmobile brand. Interestingly, in the one I saw in the dealership, the little compartment in the back trunk actually had an air compressor w/ hose for pumping up your tires. I still have my 02 Chevrolet TrailblazerLS. Still love it at 217K. Biggest complaint is that noisy plastic interior compare to the quietness of a Honda Pilot at 190K. But I've towed my father's garden tractor around just fine and it's always had enough power and speed to do everything I've asked of it. And it's 4WD system has never disappointed.
My friend has a 2005 LTZ 4x4. Very comfortable on long trips. Very smooth. Powerful. Heavy built. But poor fuel economy. But hey thats what you get with such a big, heavy comfortable vehicle.
I grew up with my dad having a 06" ss model blazer. So im actually geting the chance to buy an ls trim for the winter and ill be building my own version of the trailblazer since my dad got rid of the one we had
I could pay cash for a new BMW, but my daily driver is still a 2008 Chevy Trailblazer 4x4 with 225,000 miles. It's just dang comfy, smooth, and quiet! I had 2002 trailblazer Lt and that truck needed alot of work, I got tired of putting money into so I traded it for a 2005 trailblazer LS and it drives better then that crappy 02, less work on it and was a smooth SUV, wish I could've kept it
I get about 18mph, on back roads. And letting it coast as much as possible. That’s one thing I love about mine is that it doesn’t engine break much. I let off the gas and it just rolls. Unlike many engines that will slow the car down.
Found a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer 4D Extended Utility LT with 185,000Miles talked guy down to 1500$ from 2K needs a Rotor-Sway Bar Link- And sunroof wiring work. Does this sound like an alright deal? I have a OBD2 reader I’m bringing along with me incase

Get an upgraded trans cooler, really extends the life of the 4L60E. It won't last long if you don't. Also look into getting the Saab or Oldsmobile version, they're much nicer to drive and have a better interior and you can usually find them cheaper
@@spacefacegaming also the V8 has DOD, ask if it's been deleted or listen for a ticking noise, when it fails it grenades the engine. Im larger guy and was curious if you think a large individual would fit comfortably in one of these before i go try and test drive to find out i don't fit. Any feedback would be much appreciated.
Dear followers!! Don't let the beautiful pictures confuse you . Anyone who buys a new car from GENERAL Motors the chance you threw your money into the trash is very large. In this company there is no customer service, the company's management does not care at all, if you have a problem or a malfunction, you can only pray to God there is a chance that the help will come faster. GM is a very dangerous company, be careful and keep your money safe.!!!Share so more people don't get screwed.GM is a big bluf
@@voidisyinyangvoidisyinyang885 well my father gave it away to a family member. They have since put in only 10k miles in a period of 6 years. Still going strong in 2023 only thing that’s was going out on it was the rotors and break pads. But that’s about it
these things are ungodly slow I dont believe they have 275hp cuz even the 5.3l v8 ones take like 10 seconds to hit 60! they are ungodly slow unless you have the ss!
The 4.2 has a zero to 60 @ 6.1 sec, & a 1/4 mile of 14.6sec @ 92mph The 5.3 has a zero to 60 @ 6 sec, & a 1/4 mile of 14.2sec @ 101mph AND THE SS... Zero to 60 @ 5.5 sec, & 1/4 mile of 13.8sec @ 99mph That 4200 is only 0.6 of a second slower than the SS model $ giving away 100 hp to it. But that 4200 straight 6 will long outlive those v8's I don't think that is slow for a 4500 lb vehicle. You can buy a used 6 cyl for 1000 to 4500 bucks Now Go price a SS model. EXPENSIVE... For the cost savings you could cam and turbo that 4200, and it would destroy the SS.

Dear
followers!! Don't let the beautiful pictures confuse you . Anyone who
buys a new car from GENERAL Motors the chance you threw your money into
the trash is very large. In this company there is no customer service,
the company's management does not care at all, if you have a problem or a
malfunction, you can only pray to God there is a chance that the help
will come faster. GM is a very dangerous company, be careful and keep
your money safe.!!!Share so more people don't get screwed.GM is a big bluf
My family put 280,674 miles on ours.
then what happened? I'm at 288K and going for 500K
@@voidisyinyangvoidisyinyang885 well my father gave it away to a family member. They have since put in only 10k miles in a period of 6 years. Still going strong in 2023 only thing that’s was going out on it was the rotors and break pads. But that’s about it
there was also Oldsmobile ;D
How much
Where's the spare tire located?
In the rear under the vehicle.
Would you sell it
I went to mission bbq too
Are you saying that car
They cared for that vehicle.
You forgot it also came in an Oldsmobile

these things are ungodly slow I dont believe they have 275hp cuz even the 5.3l v8 ones take like 10 seconds to hit 60! they are ungodly slow unless you have the ss!
The 4.2 has a zero to 60 @ 6.1 sec, & a 1/4 mile of 14.6sec @ 92mph
The 5.3 has a zero to 60 @ 6 sec, & a 1/4 mile of 14.2sec @ 101mph
AND THE SS...
Zero to 60 @ 5.5 sec, & 1/4 mile of 13.8sec @ 99mph
That 4200 is only 0.6 of a second slower than the SS model $ giving away 100 hp to it.
But that 4200 straight 6 will long outlive those v8's
I don't think that is slow for a 4500 lb vehicle.
You can buy a used 6 cyl for 1000 to 4500 bucks
Now Go price a SS model. EXPENSIVE...
For the cost savings you could cam and turbo that 4200, and it would destroy the SS.
@@Thesaurcery4U2C not even close on the 4.2 the fastest 0-60 i found online was 7.8. the auto transmission in them slows them way down!
Wow! It's not rusted. Lol
did he show the chassis?
