I like how modern Sonic is like anime kinda and classic is cartoony
They both feel very cartoonish. Which makes sense since the Sonic character design style is reminiscent of Mickey mouse.

@@PikachuGamerSMT actually Mephiles might come back for Shadow’s Story for the game. He was his “Rival” in 06 and was a big part of his character growth. Crisis city + Silver are already in the original Generations so it wouldn’t be surprising if Mephiles was a boss fight for Shadow’s campaign
So we’re basically getting Shadow The Hedgehog 2? I’m all for it.
One thing I saw another person point out about the trailer is that it looks like Radical Highway is bleeding into Westopolis, as we see a portion of track that resembles the former level. Tails did say that the more the Eggmen were messing with time, the more damage would be caused to the world. So~... we may see that.
At a best guess for another level, maybe White Acropolis from 06?
I would guess there's two locations from SA2, two from Heroes, two from Shadow, and maybe also two from 06... if that game does appear White Acropolis is definitely a level I'd expect
It's very refreshing to finally see shadows games getting acknowledged by sega same with 06 it says to me that there starting to get less worried about mentioning these games that didn't do the best and taking the parts that did work and giving them new life. The thing I always liked about the era of sonic was the presentation it felt kinda different to others. Having sonic and his frinds in the same world as this secretive shady government group and eggman grandfather being a part of it always felt so cool my favourite part of shadow the hedgehog despite it's flaws was watching all the factions interact was fun.
Stages I’d like to see for Shadow are White Jungle, Sky Rail, Sky Troops, Digital Circuit, Black Comet, White Acropolis, and Flame Core
want a generations styled mephilis fight
Mephiles has to come back.
I hope we get some new levels for the Sonic side of Generations. I really want Kingdom Valley, it was easily the best level on 06 way better than Crisis City. From the visuals of the area to the music for all parts of the level 👌🏽
My best guesses, probably way off, are that we will get nine stages - making it half the size of Sonic Generations since it has two versions of each of its nine.
- Space Colony Ark (because we saw it)
- Westopolis/Radical Highway (because I think what we saw was a remix of the two)
- The Black Comet (since Black Doom is the big bad)
- Rail Canyon (since its where Shadow learned about the Androids)
- Sky Rail (its one of the only four stages Shadow has in SA2)
- Prison Island/White Jungle (the other Shadow stage from SA2, but irradiated like the return to Prison Island was in ShTH)
- Sky Troops/Egg Fleet (one of the most iconic Shadow stages, which remixes very naturally with one of the most iconic Heroes stages)
- Digital Circuit/Mad Matrix (just squeezing in this one for Shadow's cyberspace stuff being a fan-favourite aesthetic)
- Dusty Desert (having a hoard of Black Arms here would be a nice little reference to Mephiles if they can't have him in the game)
And a least 3 bosses, Black doom probably as the final one, Biolizard ( we saw him ) and I hope Mephiles at some point ( this is generations after all )
@@gramergames The thing with Mephiles is that while he gave Shadow a great story, if SEGA are trying to recap who Shadow is then introducing Mephiles is hell of a detour.
The main things they need to cover are the Faustian Bargain between Gerald and Black Doom to save Maria that lead to his creation, and his own relationship with Maria, and his relationship to Team Dark - all of that feels like stuff the cliff-notes for Shadow need to cover.
This is very much an opportunity born from a requirement.... BUT if they get this right then they might be game to bringing back old villains a bit more often, and we all know Mephiles has top billing for that.
That said I'm hopefully we'll get a reference to 06 that lets a hoard of Black Arms stand in for a hoard of Mephiles. Especially because doing so would let them have a Team Dark moment.
@@Twilord_ Well... I just want a new 3d model for that character haha. But honestly judging by the logo in the Shadow name this extra content will surely be focused on Shadow the hedgehog Game ( and obviusly SA2 )
@@gramergames Yeah... but to be fair, if Black Doom of all space-demons can make a successful return then the odds for a future game with our dear time-demon are pretty high.
Some people have already talked about this but I'm wondering if Mephiles the Dark will make a PROPER appearance in this game. He was an important villain in Shadow's story in Sonic 2006, helping Shadow shape his character. Many fans still remember Mephiles fondly, some even rating him as the best Sonic villain. He has made multiple cameos in the past (Sonic Forces: Speed Battle, Sonic Runners, Sonic Rivals 2, Sonic Dash, original Sonic Generations, Archie Sonic Comics and merchandise such as the plushie and skateboard) so SEGA isn't against using him. Fandom page dedicated to Mephiles mentions that Time Eater from Sonic Generations could be a part of Mephiles that survived after his defeat in Sonic 06 and that Eggman was supposed to make phantom copies of Mephiles in Sonic Forces according to the early scripts. Notice that Ian Flynn (One of the writers of Sonic x Shadow Generations) told about the possible connection between Mephiles and Time Eater, considers Mephiles better than Infinite the Jackal and has wished to bring Mephiles back and Sonic Generations would be one of the most fluent ways to do that since it's about past experiences and has already included levels from Sonic 06. But despite all these promising signs, I'm worried that Mephiles will only make a short cameo again and not play an important role in the story. *Sigh*

I'm really hoping that it's not just levels from SA2 and Shadow's game. I personally wouldn't mind a level or two from Heroes or 06. Like Bullet Station and Aquatic Base or Dusty Desert. Those are pretty important levels to his character.
Ian Flynn has gotten a lot of flack when it comes to Shadow in the IDW comics. Shadow there is seen as an arrogant jerk who literally has no friends, constantly ignores what others tell him, and treats Sonic like a complete nuisance.
But here’s the thing. Ian Flynn also wrote Shadow in the Archie comics, and there, Shadow was peak. Ian really understood his character and made sure to use him when necessary. That Shadow is firm but fair. Grumpy, but not a jerk. More of a secret softie who does the right thing for the safety of others, especially those he cares for. That’s Adventure Era Shadow, the real Shadow.
The constant mandates heavily prevented Flynn from writing Shadow as a compelling character in IDW. He was basically told to make Shadow an unfriendly, anti-social jerk. Remove those pesky mandates and I have full confidence that Shadow will be portrayed the way he should be in Sonic X Shadow Generations. If that’s the case, then I’m extremely looking forward to this release.

Hang Castle
White Acropolis
Eggmanland
Asteroid Coaster
Mephiles as Rival
And Devil Doom as Boss Battle.
As I saw his gameplay it looked similar to frontiers gameplay and I feel like this going to be bigger than forces dlc. Overall, I hope we get super shadow and I hope Ian Flynn has something planned for him so he can used in the comics more. I’m looking forward to your review of this game and now I want Kellin Quinn’s version of “ I am All of me” and hoping for new soundtrack.
Shadows got alotta stages to choose from. Hopefully theres a decent number of stages rather than just 3 like in Forces. Even if they just gave him 8 like Sonic did in Gens.
Also it'd be amazing if Ian was able to rewrite the gens story completely.

I feel this story for shadow is gonna have him seeing Maria again one last time to tell her how much he appreciated her while battling and looking bad ass doing it while going through time battling black doom who wants revenge on shadow for destroying him

I'm interested to see where the story is going to go if final horizon is anything to go by. because I feel like it might be more separate from generations events then we think with the trailer hinting some kind of conflict between sonic and shadow. Sure, this could just be in the background of generations events with the Sonic's beating time eater as shadow traveling to different zones himself. But I think it will be cool of shadow is forced back into white space by something Eggman did maybe they take some ideas from fan theories that time eater is part of Solaris since we see crisis city return. maybe shadow will try and change the timeline. stop maria from dying or defeat black doom in a time he was not meant to. I doubt for good reason that they may do something that drastic but it would be cool.
I'm super interested in what they mean by never before seen powers and abilities. Are you we going to see an evolution to Shadow's abilities and techniques similar to Sonic in Sonic Frontiers? This game has me so excited!

I'm far less interested in the story and lore aspect of this and more hyped about the fact that they are adapting Shadow's unique abilities and attacks into the boost formula as well as seeing stages like Final Rush in HE2. This is gonna be 🔥
