The live version of this from "Hey Hey" (Aussie TV Show) is a brilliant performance.
Australia is glad to share our two best singers ever
These two are so loved here in Oz. I have seen them both live many times over the years even in small pub settings - just remarkable.
Three legends of Australian music
What can I say except Aussie legends. Also Johnny Diesel was guitar played in this another legend ❤️🤘🎸🇦🇺 Jimmy is 65 years old and Johnny is 72 years old
What can i say, except that neither are Australian. BOTH are British. 😂 Most of the best English speaking singers/musicians in history of music are British. We all know that. Bee Gees are British as well. Don't tell me you are claiming they are aussies a well? :)))
@@arsenalmanic Well, you seem to forget a fairly decent percentage of people were not born in Australia but now call it home. I wasn’t claiming anybody except pointing out that they are regarded highly here.
@@arsenalmanic Jimmy is actually Scottish....and I've never met a Scot who calls themselves a Brit. Just sayin.....
Did you know the guitarist singing with them is an awesome artist too. Check him out please. Johnny Diesel and the Injectors, just a few of their hits are 'Don't Need Love, 'Soul Revival ' and 'Cry in Shame'.
Johnny Diesel is jimmy's bro n law, married to Barnes sister..3 legends in one awesome video
That Singer Reactions has a hilarious reaction to this song! There is more soul here than the underworld though.
Incredible voices, but Johnny Diesel on that guitar. A picture perfect moment in time between 3 great Aussie artists.
amazing singers very nice nice guitar too by diesel
One of my favourite songs by my favourite artists, Farnsey, Barnsey and Diesel
More vocal runs than an Olympic 1500 meter final........superb.....
1991. Have seen it live and it was beyond amazing
Love a bit of Farnsy & Barnsy on the channel. Just throw a bit of Deisel in the mix and you have some magic. All icons in Aussie. This made my afternoon
Neither are australians. Both are British, and born in Britain. There is no australian in them nor their parents. They're just aussie residents
@@arsenalmanic funny lol ask them if there Aussie and see what they say lol
I love your reactions on something we here everyday
You need to watch Anthony Warlow & John Farnham do funny opera, its awesome
This song is a cover version and a one-off collab between two of the biggest names & voices in Aussie music. Cold Chisel didn't record it; they wrote their own stuff. Their ballad When the War is Over is an absolutely iconic track - well worth checking out if you haven't already.
There is a version With Jim and Ian recorded in Germany in 1982, and on the 2011 on the "Never Before" Album
Neither are australians. Both are British, and born in Britain. There is no australian in them nor their parents. They're just aussie residents
The live version of this song with Hey Hey It's Saturday in the title is a thousand times better than the music video. 🙂
These two guys are two of the best male singers you’ll ever see. Now even though Jimmy was letting do John do all the high notes here, he’s actually capable of doing similar high notes as well. They’re just incredible.
If you are looking for live, top Aussie performances....Years ago there was a TV show named, "Hey, Hey, It's Saturday," on TV station Channel 9 in Melbourne, Australia. It was compulsory viewing because it was soooo good. Barnsey, Farnsey and Diesal did this song on it . Sensational! Videos of "Hey, Hey..." are on YT.
Yes, best version ever.
The live version of this is the Hey Hey it’s Saturday it’s 👍 always do these 2 live 😊🇦🇺
Definitely Hey Hey it’s Saturday - live version is the clip to hear
I thought you had done this, but glad you have now! *Cough* live is best!😜😃😂 But this is great too! If you want to see Jimmy Barnes in full soul mode check out Stone Cold with Joe Bonamassa (a US guitar prodigy). It will not disappoint!
YEEEEESSS
Absolutely a must to react to so much soul it’s unbelievable!💕🔥😎
Thanks
You should check out the Hey Hey It's Saturday live version.
I can never get sick of this song, loved it then and love it now. Sooooo much talent
Australian music largely got ignored in America in the 80s. Mainly because they thought it wouldn't sell in the USA. So we just did our own thing over here. And boy it was a great era.
Three Aussie legends , well sort of Aussie 😁
The three Js🎉
hey guys. you played id die to be with you tonight, and when your love is gone, a couples years ago. the reason is because i requested the songs, and whrn you played jimmy i was so proud
Wooohooo!! Haven’t even watched yet but I’m jumping in as first commenter to say 1) I love Canada and 2) thanks I’ve been wanting you guys to do this one for a while super excited. You seem like such lovely genuine people! PS no Cold chisel didn’t do this one- this is the original they recorded this together :)
Their is a better version of this and it’s a live version of them singing on a TV show called Hey hey it’s Saturday. Whilst this is still great. You need to watch them sing this live. Anything Jimmy and John sing is ALWAYS better live. Anyway check it out
Cheers
🌸
If you want to see this as a live performance? Have a look at them perform it live on “Hey Hey it’s Saturday”
… it’s even better than this.
You really need to check out the live version from the Soul Deep concert. Live is always better. Also, Jimmy does a duet with his son David Campbell, where they sing "You'll Never Walk Alone".
Makes me proud to be an Aussie 👍🏼😁🇦🇺🐨🦘
Neither are australians. Both are British, and born in Britain. There is no australian in them nor their parents. They're just aussie residents
@@arsenalmanic they both have Australian Citizenship. John Farnham won Australian of the year in 1987. I reckon that makes them UK born Australians. But hey you think whatever you like.
@@arsenalmanic keep to soccer
Johnny Diesel (playing guitar) is Jimmy's brother in law and is also awesome and another legend must check out
Get a look at Screaming Jets!🤪💕
There is a live version of this somewhere on UA-cam complete with Diesel. Worth a look in your spare time.
The one from Hey Hey It's Saturday. Hearing all three singing at the end is brilliant
pair two of Australia's biggest named voices along with the equally biggest Aussie talent excellence and passion of Johnny Diesel on guitar.
LOved your comment, these two are absolutely fantastic, and also not forgetting Johnny Diesel on the guitar😀👍🎸
He can jump mate!!
Hes an Aussie lol
If you like Jimmy you should check out the collaboration of Joe Bonamassa & Jimmy Barnes singing Stone Cold. It’ll knock your socks off.
John is 73yo 2023.
Live versions always great
Farnsey, Barnsey and Diesel. Re the white guys, yes took it as a compliment, a few people have said that. Those boys sure can belt it together. Gotta love ‘em. And Diesel, Jimmy’s brother in law knows how to play that geeetarr lol 👍😊
If you like this, You might also enjoy another Aussie legend: James Reyne (Rain) and his song "Always the Way". He had a band together back in the '80's, called Australian Crawl, named after the swimming stroke which changed the world. They were a great band with many great songs and hits. But James went on to a solo career and had yet more hits. I can give you a short list if you like 'Always the Way' and want more!
Thank you for this 🇦🇺🥺
The Largs Pier in South Australia was one Hotel he played on a regular basis.
Thanks from Down Under! Love your reactions and content guys. This isn't a "I told you so" but, while this is good, I prefer their LIVE performance on Hey Hey It's Saturday. Especially the end where they sing without instrumental accompaniment. Btw, the guitarist is Johnny Diesel who is Jimmy Barnes' brother in law and was/is a popular performer in Australia in his own right. You say you haven't done much Jimmy Barnes - for some more contemporary Jimmy Barnes, check out Stone Cold (ua-cam.com/video/D99LZg18OWg/v-deo.html) with Joe Bonamassa doing his own thing on guitar as only he can do it. At close to 60, as he was then (2014), he can still belt it out!
yes...this vids been out for 85 yrs .....long time aussie legends
You should watch, that singer reactions, reaction then lol
I second this suggestion!
I agree. So funny how he says they must’ve been eating soul food, like fried chicken and collard greens. 😆👍🏼
I just came from watching him! He’s currently my favorite non-vocal coach reactor. He just gets it!
Jimmy Barnes is Scottish….not just white! White is only his skin colour! 🤣
Scottish people have blue eyed soul! It’s a hidden gem!
Go Canadian truckers 🇦🇺🇨🇦
Definitely the music video for Jimmies album Soul Deep.. Not bad but there are several live versions that bring Diesel more to the front. All bloody good
Here's one for you to react to Jimmy Barnes in "Stone Cold". Plus you got a new sub.😁
Jimmy Barnes Stone Cold with American Guitarist Joe Bonamassa? Absolutely brilliant 😊👍
I saw a black reactor say these guys have the most soul they've heard from white guys, then later in the song said....no these guys have the most soul PERIOD. lol
Fun fact with this song…. They actually got complete blotto (drunk) filming and doing this film clip. They were legit drinking whist singing n doing it lol
You should watch ThatSingerReactions to this song,
Can you react to Yebba tiny desk concert it's really good
1 fact you may not know that they were getting drunk while they were doing the video clip, that was real alcohol in those bottles and glasses.
One of those two has class and heart. The other one hasn’t.
Please next reaction DIMAS SENOPATI - BAD OF ROSES (cover akustik) 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
If that is the only Jimmy song you've heard, you need to do more. Chisel's most famous song is "Khe Sahn" - it's an Australian anthem. Probably the epitome of Australian pub rock. Live version here: ua-cam.com/video/vfDI2ZjXwK8/v-deo.html
Also check out Flame Trees, When the war is over, and Bow River. The last one is mostly sung by Ian Moss, who wrote it. He's the guitarist from Chisel, but he has a great voice. It's cleaner and more "beautiful" than Jimmy's, if you know what I mean, and they compliment each other really well.
You might also want to check out Jimmy's solo song, "Working Class Man".
Interesting week to do this song - you probably didn't know that John's longtime manager Glenn Wheatley died this week. He was also the bass player for another classic Aussie band, Master's Apprentices. If you have time, please do check out one of their songs, "It's because I love you". I guarantee you'll love it.
the diff usa guy vs aus guy, aussie guy would sing along, and suck, but love his woman doing it
You should watch t he live version. It's better...
Funny I have watch Adrican Anerican reactions to Bee Gees Staying Alive
They are shocked when they realise the Gibb brothers are white
Should of done live performance much better, by far. Always live performance, Always. Cheers.
The song does mention "she" - just saying!!😂
Wrong, thi
Whoever wrote the song did so after his girl passed on a STD.
Clueless description. Both are British. Neither is aussie, born in australia or parents australian. You should know by now, that 60-70% of the best English speaking singers/musicians in the history of music are British.
Dumb comment.... It's the same one you put everywhere tho! 😴 ....what is it exactly that you're jealous of?
@@amandagray3694 seems you are obsessed, hence you've looking for it everywhere :))).
So why have they been living here all these years and not been deported?
