Can you imagine if it was the wheel with the faulty bolt that had punctured?! Your folks would have been stranded for ages. Great video that shows how even the easiest of tasks are not always that straightforward.
Good lord I didn't think of that!! That would have been an AAA call for sure 😂 thank you!! Glad you enjoyed the video 😄 yeah that's for sure, it's usually the jobs you think are easy that turn out to be the worst!
If I have to run a donut spare, I run it in the back. I don't like having the little guy as a steer tire. If it blows, I'd rather have it in the rear.
A local Ford dealer messed up the lug nuts on a coworker's car when replacing front wheel bearings. I had to buy new all lug nuts when doing a brake job for her a few months later.
The Touring looks great. I thought you would do the switcheroo and bolt the new wheels onto the PT GT.
I used a 1' impact at work today. It tightens to like 1250 ft/lbs. It's a big boy toy. I tightened the bolts with the impact then hit them with a 3/4" breaker bar and a 6' long cheater bar. I got another 1/2 turn with the cheater bar. The bolts are grade 10, 1" fine thread. 1 1/2" socket. Construction equipment is heavy duty. Look up Vermeer CC155. That's what i ran all this week and will be running all next week.
I don't like running donuts in the front either, thankfully the car was only a couple miles from home on a back road so I just threw it on. But now it looks like because of those lug nuts I probably wouldn't have been able to get it on the rear anyways haha! Glad this whole ordeal is over. You know the feeling lol
Tbh I thought about test fitting the GT's wheels on it to see how that setup would fit, but I ended up finding that craigslist deal and it all happened so quickly I didn't get a chance to. Maybe someday 🤔 but these new ones sure do fit it perfectly!!
That stuff you work with is insane!! Holy crap, I'd love to tour that place! 😂 that is some seriously heavy equipment
That looks amazing! I actually ran into a similar problem with my PT Cruiser. I was able to get every single lug nut loose no problem, except for two on the rear driver's side. They were so ridiculously tight! I was finally able to get them off with an emergency lug nut remover and an impact. And using that took about ten minutes to break it loose! It's almost as if someone properly torqued every lug nut, then suddenly decided to use an impact gun until it wouldn't turn anymore🤣😂
Thanks bro!! I know right??? That's exactly how this was lmao! The only problem was whoever did it also rounded off the ends just enough that I had no option but to strip the crap out of them 😂😂. Freaking nuts! I hate going to tire shops, I'll sooner take the wheels off and bring them to have tires mounted and balanced then trust them with my car!
Those "newer" rims looks awesome on the PT, they really stand out and and compliment the cars grill. Another job well done Jimmy.
Thank you Brad!! They sure were an awesome find, and a great contrast to the red IMO! Appreciate it my man :D
Poorman's classic?... 1 day a rich man's... ☺😉⛪☺
Having "stud...ed",JPM Chase is #1 in US by the way, the SRT4...I am amazed at how advanced the motor really is! Mahle pistons with oil squirting the undersides. Iconel, a superalloy, used as the metal for valves. A cast forged crankshaft and cracked end forged rods. Etc. etc... ☺😉⛪☺
Can I put 16 inch wheels on my pt? Thanks man for the videos you encourage the DIYers, I bought pt with all issues from oil leaks, bad motor mount, Misfires, and managed to fix all by myself.
I'd get a set of hub centric rings regardless. They're cheap, and you'll have a proper mount again. Wheels look hella cool :)
Thanks dude! I'm in love with the look :D yeah I think I'm gonna go for it with the rings, even though everything seems fine I may as well! I've gotta order all new lug nuts for it anyways 🙄😂
Thanks for sharing! I now will know to drill out the stud instead of fighting for hours, trying to remove a damaged overtightened wheel nut....budman..
They look good bro, can't wait for a detail video!
Thank you my dude!! I look forward to making that video, too! :D
Samething happened to me on my 05 PT... Tire shop fixed my rim and tire
Nice wheels. Have you tried something like wd-40 or other liquid key on that bolt?
Thanks! I used "PB Blaster" like crazy on the nut, as well as a torch. That thing was seized as heck!
@@JimmyCruiser_CGE - My son had a similar problem like this on his 2007 PT. I taught him an old trick to this. The old trick that works well for situations like this is using a older long torgue wrench and using a long extension bar and a deep well socket, then use a pipe longer than the torque wrench that the wrench will fit into.
The idea is a person has more leverage with a pipe and less straining and work into removing a over tighten lug nut . Trust me it works every time.
In my case, I go to estate auctions and usually end up with various tools and on occasion end up with torque wrenches. All those tools, including the pipe, extension bar and socket are now the lug wrench.
Also, I hate those scissor jacks, so we use floor jacks. It gets the job done quick and with ease!
im sure you screamed "evil lug nut i rebuke thee!" lol
Bahaha yeah right!
Nice look
Thank you man!!!
Looks awesome man.
Thank you my dude!!
I like watching your channel, I have a 2005 Cruiser black and it’s a convertible… your channel giving me some ideas I wanna do to my work car
I buy Douglas tires to. Goodyear makes them anyway!
I didn't know that, very interesting!! I've never heard a bad thing about them and they're an awesome deal compared to others
Channel C.G.E. Ya Goodyear makes them for walmart. The tire wear lasted longer then my good year viva 2 tires i had before.
Great to hear man!!
Looks good. Really contrasts against the red color.
Thanks!! I'm in love with the look as well, exceeded my expectations big time!
@@JimmyCruiser_CGE I've been looking myself to accessorize mine as well. My pt is the rare Melbourne green so kind of wondering what to match it too.
Can you remember what is the Bore size?
From the old wheels and bore size from the new wheel?
Pt gang 👌
👌
...am. Pm? Teasin... I like the Jack Black giggle. I dooooooooooooo. Oh! I have had 2 Pteez? My 3rd is so hot! Showroom condition 2003 PT GT high output. Almond Pearl...garage kept. Black leather interior. Like?...new! 47 maint./service records from same Chrysler dealer! Near pristine! ☺😉⛪☺
Driving on those tiny wheels is scary since I run 18 inch Wolfrace wide boys haha.
They look good
Wheels Looks great on the PT
My steeelys are ugly but strong along with my Moog 👏
😂😂 heck yeah man!
nice bro
use never size on the studs
Sooo...last wheels broke and got more fancy ones....logic 🤔
These wheels not only were cheaper than getting a replacement but they look awesome too ;) ..........logic 😜😂
Put them on the gt. Btw they are wheels not rims....keep up the great channel!
Haha I would put them on the GT but they're quite a bit smaller, need to keep that stance ;) lol. Yes, of course, *wheels 😂 thanks!
@@JimmyCruiser_CGE if you put them on the GT it keep the same amount of space between tire and fender. And your GT would also be lower.
In my opinion I rather go with the original rims
