financing wheels is a terrible idea. it's only mentioned here as being 'recommended' because it benefits their company. save your money and buy the wheels cash.
If you can't afford to buy it cash, don't finance it, easy as that. And if opportunity cost needs to be mentioned as an argument in this discussion, then the person can't afford it. It's a set of wheels, not a full on car or house. Simple as that.

Even with a small percentage of interest if you don't mind the end term extra cash spent financing wheels can easily boost low credit. Just saying, if you can't afford it and actually know how to run numbers, it's not terrible. They suggest it as well because you may not be able to afford the wheels you realllly want. I work at a garage and they send their wheels in great condition, never damaged, and they use painted weights when they can. Mounted balanced, shipped and installed it's often cheaper to run through fitments financing then through my store straight up. Hope the advice isn't considered hostile, but I like helping people love their cars.
Just wanted to say: 17x8 et18 is the perfect meaty fitment for a bmw e46 when running semi slicks for meaty summer tires where you can run lowering springs without rolling the fenders
Your video gave me a lot of valuable information about how to pick out different sizes for Rims because I seen other UA-cam channels and when people buy rims for the car they always make mistakes. Thumbs up on your video bro.

I just can't find enough sources to prove that it makes enough of a difference to put them on instead of the stock aero rims (That includes if the aftermarket ones are lighter than stock)

You don’t need to spend 600 or more for tires unless you track your car. I have under 100 dollar per tire on my car and they are actually fantastic. They are uhp all seasons with a 189 mph speed rating, Super grippy and quiet.

Rolling fenders is easy as hell and you can rent the tool or borrow from a friend.
