My whole youth was spent "restoring" my 77' Celica coupe - of necessity lol. 18RG, Made my own camber plates, shortened struts and rear disc brake conversion - all in the late 80's.
Dom's fabrication skills are wizard-class. I loved seeing his work when he was doing the Judd V10 Supra. It's awesome to see he contributed to this project too.
I think Sarah’s build and restoration is way more in depth than this one, and mostly done by herself with the Tundra V8 swap, fully custom wired, and even some old school lead body work techniques on the bumpers. Plus the custom AE86 suspension pieces.
It's fascinating watching your team fix up this 72 while also watching Sarahntuned work on hers. If you're a viewer of PapdakisRacing and having checked Sarah out, well worth a watch.
For years I have wanted to make a living by restoring cars (I would love to do a Toyota soarer and trueno). Sadly life took me down a different path, so thanks for letting me live vicariously through the videos you and others make.
What a gorgeous and tasteful restauration. People commend you for condensing your content, but I actually beg to differ: This could easily have been a 3 part series of 15 minutes per episode. A bit of interviewing the crew on what went easy and what turned out to be all strugglebus, etc. I know that video production makes everything take twice as long, and that you're basically just "letting us peek inside you workshop" out of the goodness of your heart. So what I'm saying is: If you ever suddenly become infatuated with content production you'll hear no protest from me :P
The car looks absolutely beautiful. My dad had a first gen Celica but the fastback. You guys did this car justice with all the bodywork, color choice and wheel choice! It looks just right.
It's been a while since I've seen a new Papadakis Racing video... As always, I really love seeing videos covering a variety of projects you're doing.^^
Perfection. I got to drive one of these almost daily in the late 90's. Such an awesome car, espeically up in the hills. Love the attention to detail with this rebuild.
Been a minute, since y’all shared. Love this build! Had a -75 Celica, back in the early -80’s. Was definitely a favorite, that I still kick myself in the ass for selling…
WOW Stephan that really came out GREAT! It makes me really miss my '73 ST, which was my 2nd car back in like '85. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing.
The 1972 Celica is one of my dream cars, absolutely love to see the amazing work you all have put into this one. AND THAT YOU DRIVE IT! If you ever want to trade for an off-road Miata…. Nice job team!!! Can’t wait to see what’s next!
Ace. It looks great and I love that blue. Also the cerakote/black headlights look perfect and I'm glad you have better lighting now. I remember how terrible it was in my KE26 and KE10
This is an awesome thing to do for this rare car. I had a yellow 1977 celica fastback. It was too far gone for a restore once the rear trailing mount left the cars frame. So glad to see this car again. I was just thinking that it should be almost time for one of your videos
It's super refreshing to see someone spending the time and quality body work on a classic import, instead of the run of the mill 69 Camaro or other American muscle cars
I owned a ‘67 Camaro convertible in my youth (I also owned a ‘77 Celica GT at one point). While the Camaro was the only American car that I’ve owned over the past 46 years, I still really appreciate such cars. But I get where you are coming from. Ironically, back in the 80s when I had the Celica, it was considered a pretty run of the mill car itself as Toyota had sold a lot of them (for good reason). I just dig cars in general.
So….litteraly yesterday i watched both the Celica Canyon-drive, ánd the RAV winter-drive video aswell as some shorts, and kinda ‘prayed’ you would post something new. And ‘Lo and Behold’…. You answered my prayer 😂 (and i’m not making this up, check my likes and comments on it if you will). This is just awesome, mind blown! 🤯 And i haven’t even started watching today’s restoration video 🤣 Thanks Mr.Papadakis! ❤️ your work, and your mastering of the UA-cam-crafts as well. 👌
Wish you would do a build breakdown video on it, it's a nice ride. Cool to get some more facts on the whole build process of the entire car and why you chose the parts you chose for the final project
Okay, so that’s how you do it ‘the right way’…and some of the work is better off done by specialized ‘craftsmen’ 🧐. This Celica is gettng the best treatment possible, and that on a usage-intended-never-ending-project! 😍 I personally wouldn’t have minded if the video was 4 times as long, but you are the maestro, and i just get to enjoy ‘the music’ for free, so thanks again for showing this! 👌 But let me get this straight; the process requires 6 full months of ‘curing’ to get the optimal results…😮. Wow, next level dedication. Immaculate everything. Just…WOW! 🤯
No fluff. Not drawn out for clicks. Just professionalism.
I love Papakakis snow ball projects.

Cool tip on the Tundra over-fender gasket. The Celica looks great.
Most likely identical to the Honda lip kit trim gasket.
Awesome. You and Sarah-n-Tuned both doing Celicas is awesome.

@@Patrick94GSR yea for sure, totally different approaches to it. It’s just great seeing these cars get the love they deserve.
i much prefer this build.
@@antoinedoinell couldn't choose which I prefer. Both have their individual charm.
And ryan turecks 6gen celica rally build
Now you, Pete from speed academy, and Sarah n tuned need to have a Celica showdown when she's done!
Such a humble video for the amount of hard, quality work that went into this project. Love to see it!
Slight flex getting it compiled all in one video - great facilitating and beautiful celica 🙏
It's fascinating watching your team fix up this 72 while also watching Sarahntuned work on hers.

Check out ryan turecks 6gen celica rally build
Fantastic build!! Would love to see your Celica with @Sarah-n-Tuned 's Celica once she is done.
Wow Eric's old Celica is getting some real love ❤️
Eric would be so happy on how his old car turned out.
Dream machine material. Love how meticulous you are Stephan! 👏
I love classic and vintage cars. They are timeless.❤
Im a proud Toyota worker. And i have always loved all your videos🙂 keep em coming.
Look into saab colours too. Viggen blue. Scarab green. Monte carlo yellow. Talladega red. 🙂
For years I have wanted to make a living by restoring cars (I would love to do a Toyota soarer and trueno). Sadly life took me down a different path, so thanks for letting me live vicariously through the videos you and others make.
Exactly the same here
there aint no money in that anymore
Dom's craftsmanship is second to none, he totally killed it on the Formula Supra!!

I love your videos, I wish you could post more often because I’m certain you are doing cool things.
Finding myself loving your channel more and more. The quality of your workmanship is truly admirable.
Turned out great, very neat little cars.
So good seeing Dom here after Ryan Tuerck's Supra. Stephan + Dom = what a killer combo
What a beauty makes me regret not asking a neighbor of mine for his years ago
"We figured while we were in there" is how so many projects don't get finished. This is incredible!
There were so many of these on the roads in Australia in the 80s and it was like they disappeared overnight 😢
Fantastic job on the restoration. Best friend used that same color on his 77 Corolla back in the early 80's. It was used on the Supra and pickups too.
I don't normally comment in UA-cam videos, but man this level of detail and restoration is TOP. Congratulations to all the team
The car looks absolutely beautiful. My dad had a first gen Celica but the fastback. You guys did this car justice with all the bodywork, color choice and wheel choice! It looks just right.
Beautiful resto of the smiley Celica. Congratulations.
One day I will get to own one.
From Puerto Rico i need you back in the import drag you are the legend God Bless you beautfull Celica
It's been a while since I've seen a new Papadakis Racing video...

Fantastic work as always, great sum up. Wish I had that kind of time, space, knowledge and dedication.
Thanks for acknowledging your appreciation of Dominic.
This is my absolute favorite car channel.

The drift cars are amazing but the Celica build is something else 🙌 love it. Top job.
Nice work. I really like the zinc coating on the hardware. Love the videos
Dom is a master fabricator and I miss his works God bless and keep up posting

Always keen to see more celica content from you! It gives me inspiration to keep tooling away on my 75 celica coupe.
This is by far the best video I have seen on your channel!
the masterpiece restoration project, two thumbs up

What a beautiful restoration 🤌🏻
I’m glad to see a build series of this! 👍🏼
Nice, I love that build.
No doubt Mr. Papadakis is the real daddy of the industry 🇺🇸🫡
