    I still have my original Tom Knox Santa Cruz board. It’s a real time machine with OJII Teamrider wheels, Independent 169 trucks and Cell Block 3 risers :)

    Glad I grew up in this era. You could watch a vhs and with dedication could learn a lot of what your favourite pro was doing.
    All the while not risking insane life altering injury.

      Hell yeah. I skated from 86 till 93. Shit got crazy. I could handle the flippy tech shit. But after questionable with big rails and gaps I was done. Still love it tho. A skater is a skater for life.

    Street skating is still the same, Knox just shows how it's going to be skated for the next 4 decades of progression in one single part.

    It seems that in 1989 Jeremy Klein and Tom Knox did the most to deviate from old school ... like skating and doing tricks "backwards".

    Funny story. Santa cruz team rolled into my town for a demo. Jeff kendall, tom knox and eric dressen 1990 i think. Anyway the night before a local skate punk rat crept to the new 7ft spine ramp in the night,and sprayed in.massive letters on the ramp... tom knox sux cox... jeff kendall uber alles! The look on the park owners face and even kendalls laughter was amazing.

    I'm trying to figure out what deck he was skating here...did he have his own pro model by then, or still an Am? Whatever it is, the graphics are all scratched to shit, so not much to go on. I'm thinking the Firepit board had a little more nose than this-or maybe that's just the reissue?

    • @CH-nz6ys
      @CH-nz6ys 9 місяців тому

      Agree on the Firepit having more nose. I had a Jeff Kendall deck back then, and the shape is very similar. Maybe Jason Jesse? Also a similar shape.
