I still have my original Tom Knox Santa Cruz board. It’s a real time machine with OJII Teamrider wheels, Independent 169 trucks and Cell Block 3 risers :)
Wow👍👍
what' the original wheelbase?
this is a wonderful piece of my adolescence in the 80s. a hug from Rome Italy
I remember watching this and get'n out right after to skate!! Such a great inspirational those times were!! Thankful to still be inspired to skate at 49yrs old!! Like tonight I will!! 🙌
Arguably some of the sickest skating ive seen
Got this video when it came out and still love this part. Tom absolutely crushed that curb at the end.
old school, best school :)
kickflip wall stall/ride? insane!
Right??? IN 89!!!
love this dude's style
This is what skating is
Gets my hyped? that song goes perfect
Tom Knox- Lord Of The Curbs! Still love watching guys like him, Hensley, Barbee, Gonz, Natas, Vallely, and Mullen skate
This part is such an inspiration all these years later. I remember seeing the curb blunt variations as a young teenager and them blowing my mind!!!
Glad I grew up in this era. You could watch a vhs and with dedication could learn a lot of what your favourite pro was doing.
All the while not risking insane life altering injury.
Hell yeah. I skated from 86 till 93. Shit got crazy. I could handle the flippy tech shit. But after questionable with big rails and gaps I was done. Still love it tho. A skater is a skater for life.
We were so mind blown back than...
Awesome skater with firehouse Jammie’ in the background. Great video
Tom Knoxs was so underrated
This part (especially all its NBD's) made the video for me (Natas was still the ruler, but his part was almost all home video demo footage).
This part was way ahead of its time
Troppi ricordi❤
Awesome skating and awesome board. Hail from Russian North Mordor.
Amazing
Street skating is still the same, Knox just shows how it's going to be skated for the next 4 decades of progression in one single part.
Best fs hurricane ever
blunt disaster @ 2:13 has been in my head for 30 some years
@santacruzskateboards he was my Bjj professor in Visalia California last year
please reissue the "fire pit" in natural colorway.....and the claus grabke "hold back time" as well!!!;-)
omg wow. So good
Real one. No corny ass hand rails or stairs nothing boring.
Board control and style galore.
Visalia massive!
This man is president of the cement fan club
It seems that in 1989 Jeremy Klein and Tom Knox did the most to deviate from old school ... like skating and doing tricks "backwards".
true, but let's not forget Gonz, especially his Savannah Slamma run, right? :)
Just watched Savanna Slamma and Gonz did a swich or backwards method off a little ramp in I think 87?
Klein is an OG but he’s over hyped, plenty of other dudes pushing the envelope just as hard
@@Yunven110 Yah, but his backside smith on a hand rail was the first ever filmed (Rubbish Heap 1989).
Damn sick!
perfect
❤️❤️
What the .. amazing
I used to have his board everslick!
the classic
King of curbs.
Putting Visalia on the map
This is the most
Funny story. Santa cruz team rolled into my town for a demo. Jeff kendall, tom knox and eric dressen 1990 i think. Anyway the night before a local skate punk rat crept to the new 7ft spine ramp in the night, and sprayed in.massive letters on the ramp... tom knox sux cox... jeff kendall uber alles! The look on the park owners face and even kendalls laughter was amazing.
Fuck yeah dude
Wow he was doing that pool right!
Miss the days of just sessioning a high block
That was redwood high school lmao
Tom is my coach in jiujitsu
Blunt to everything...
Firehose
ran dori yes, I picked up this cassette because the picture reminded me of my hometown. Popped it in and had my mind blown. Still my fave all time album!
@@mojoma such a rad tune
so that’s why they added bumps all over the rails and ledges.
Get that man a shoe deal 😂
I'm trying to figure out what deck he was skating here...did he have his own pro model by then, or still an Am? Whatever it is, the graphics are all scratched to shit, so not much to go on. I'm thinking the Firepit board had a little more nose than this-or maybe that's just the reissue?
Agree on the Firepit having more nose. I had a Jeff Kendall deck back then, and the shape is very similar. Maybe Jason Jesse? Also a similar shape.
Can someone give him a shoe sponsor.
Cement...
These little hipsters still can't do kickflip wallrides
