cannons on the flanks, protected from the rear by horse, muskets for ur center line with pikemen in the rear ready to defend against cavalry attacks on the rear , this way ur cav can engage the enemy flanks, your cannons can fire constantly without hitting ur units as they maneuver until the enemy lines clash with yours,
Another fun thing would be to get explosive shells and mortars. Makes settlement fights still derpy but you can destory enemies within the walls while you try to break the wall or climb them.

I’m really enjoying this series because it’s easier to watch than other series of this game because it’s half the length of the others

20 units in an army, 40 units in a battle I think.

I couldn't say for sure, most people enjoy the singleplayer.
So this game is basically risk factions but a little more complicated
