Some on-board GoPro footage of my 12 hour Comrades Marathon 2022 run. Used the chestie mount, so the footage is a bit 'shaky' at times, especially when I am running.
This is the best quality video I have seen for 2022 comrades. I was there just making a bronze. You said gopro 9, can you give the settings and your mount. I might get a gopro next year.
Hi. This was taken using the "Standard" 1080p @60fps W setting. There is a 4K setting (GoPro 10 has 5.3K) but I was more concerned about battery life. (Used 3 batteries during those 12 long hours and only filmed selected parts). Used a "chestie" mount, it feels more firmly fixed and doesn't bob up and down on your head. The swinging hands might be considered as a drawback, but in a way I kind of like it...
@@ChrisClueTea thanks for the tips. I know what you mean about the swining hands. At first I was distracted, but got used to it. For me I would like to change the view though. Still a great capture of Comrades.
I think that is Phakamile Ntshiza from the Adventist Athletic Club from Pretoria who sadly passed away. The runner who collapsed along Old Main Road, before the halfway mark.
Yes, he also completed the race barefoot in 2019. Start to finish. You obviously have to toughen up the bottom of the feet until they get tough and leathery. Wearing shoes not going to help you toughen up those feet.
@@ChrisClueTea thanks for the response, does he train bare foot also?I would imagine one need to train barefoot i order for the feet not to get suprised on the race day.
Thanks for sharing! Well done and I finished 3 minutes behind you, this footage is invaluable!
you were lapping people hard at the end! great job
I enjoyed every moment of the video.
I finished in 11:43.
Well done to you! Your compatriot ran the Comrades BAREFOOT! 01:44 - 02:00 Big respect! He did in 2019 as well.
Awesome footage, like something out of a game experience. Scary scenes too.
Unbelievable scenes! Thanks for sharing
