Just found your video, and good job lady! There is hope for your generation, can’t make stuff better without tearing it down first. It makes me happy to see kids taking pride in learning something new. Now I just need to put that efi on my 57 pickup.
Most fun I had all day. Miles of smiles. I found you guys while searching for info on the Sniper. I’m considering an install on my 1973 VW Thing. 😃 Thanks for topping my day.
Your an inspiration... After throwing away an E-Street FI unit 7 years ago I thought FI was just all hype.. I have been using a Holly and a FST carb before and after that experience. Both ran far better than the stock quadrajet did back when the car was new, BTW I am the original owner of the 70.. I installed the Sniper unit taking 4 leisurely days and I used the Holly in original tank fuel pump conversion. The Tank was by far the easiest and fastest part of the conversion. I started it up in 3 seconds and in 10 seconds it was idling great.. I let it learn the idle and shut it down. I installed the progressive link and reset the controller and then started it up. Turn the key wait 3 seconds for the fuel pump to stop and start.. 2 seconds.. one revolution it starts.. In 10 seconds it corrects for only having fuel on two bbls.. I took it for its first drive.. with no other mods or adjustments... It ran great.. It ran better than when it was new..... It is a Dart 372, ZZ4 roller cam, AL6 ignition..... It runs great, did I say that?? Would I recommend it.. I would.. Will it last a week? A year, 10 years? We will find out..
The carb is not the bottleneck in the wheezy old Ford 200. The head, with its integrated intake only designed for a single one-barrel carb, that holds that engine back. Really impressive job, anyway. And yes, this will likely be more reliable and efficient, and cold weather drivability will be night and day.

Nice to see Carl running with the new EFI system. I hope you installed a cover plate over the opening where the old mechanical fuel pump was to keep the oil from leaking out or being squirted out while running. Otherwise nice show . Also don't forget to cover the grounds with some liquid tape or varnish or RTV to prevent them from corroding. Corrosion on grounds can be a very bad thing and cause many electrical problems. In the Future i may do this swap on My Ford F100 . Nice work
Doesn't this require a higher amp alternator to keep it going? I think it does, but I also understand that it is worth the cost. Jeep enthusiasts love them. I like that this video covers some of the challenges of installing speed parts.
Didn't read about a requirement on the type of alternator, but we had replaced ours with a one-wire, 100A alternator. The main power requirement we read about was wanting 12V switched ignition power while cranking. We ended up using a relay to maximize the switched/cranking power.
Great video! Thinking about getting one for my ‘63 Futura convertible. Are you going to make an update video about how things have been going with the car since you’ve done the swap? Beautiful car by the way!
Thank you so much! Yes, we need to do a follow-up video. We honestly haven't been driving a lot, but this summer we're be driving much more, so we'll make sure to do a video talking about how it's been with the Sniper towards the end of the summer. Thanks again!!
Nice going Dad, help her, not do it for her. Remember it's a Dad's job even if discounted by others. I've always used a bamboo chopstick for finding TDC.
You should get a crossflow head from Australia. Whether Iron or alloy, it will be so cheap that delivery will be the major cost. Just be careful which generation. 1st generation is a cast Iron ‘Cleveland’ style crossflow head from the mid 70’s. Then came a Yamaha designed & built alloy crossflow head from the early 80’s. Later came a SOHC update that may require some modifications. Late a DOHC one, then finally a DOHC 24 valve head with Variable intake runners & VVT. IMAO getting the iron one will be best as it’s the simplest swap.
This is what young american boys and girls and PARENTS should be doing rather than the weird stuff today. Applause to you dad and Elle i wish you much success and happiness. Well done to both of you. Oh yeah the video is great. Once again well done!
I wanted to "look down" upon it, being that it looks less complicated than many of the other EFI units. From the demos that i've seen you get setup and going very easily, and it self tunes itself. Also the interface is very cool and intuitive. It also seems to make power. I saw it on a few builds from 350-600HP and it did what it should. How can you complain? I'm impressed.
We've really liked it so far. After more than a year and over 10,000 miles, it has performed flawlessly. In January, we'll be doing a review and tuning video for our EFI. We're partnering with a really cool engine builder and tuning shop in Lancaster, PA called RaceKrafters. We're getting Carl on the dyno and they'll be doing a computerized tune on our Sniper. Should be a cool episode.
Another great episode. Enjoying your progress. I do have a couple questions about the EFI. First, do you get to keep your original breather/air filter? Second, do you have to replace the distributor? I have a Petronix electronic ignition in my original distributor.

Congrats! Keep it up!
Thanks! We will!
Next when installing a hose on a barb fitting try using a heat gun soften the hose. Have done this on A/C hose,. etc.
Very nice... Holley's EFI for high performance use works very well too. Time to plan out the install of a turbo on to Carl?
Good job, i follow you because i have one fairmont with the same engine,. Cheers
So very cool parts for the Car and next cool Video wait on the next Part ❤️❤️👍❤️❤️
Thank you 🤗
Super awesome video cool build !
Totally car unrelated, but Ground Hog day is my favorite Dickensens Christmas Carol movie without being about Christmas.
Yes! I didn't even think about it but it is like Christmas Carol. That's cool!
Blaster coil, Flame thrower ignition, copper plugs.
My mate has a 221 in a Aussie XT Fairmont this looks interesting!
13:50 we completely fuck-forgot. 😆😁 Jokes aside great documentary.
I want a 30 day update review and again at 6 month or 1 year, plz.
GLAD I'm seeing this, maybe picking up a 200 that's been put in a 1989 Ranger
I'm tempted but mine's still 6 volt positive ground in a 54 international pickup
This is what young american boys and girls and PARENTS should be doing rather than the weird stuff today. Applause to you dad and Elle i wish you much success and happiness. Well done to both of you.
Oh yeah the video is great. Once again well done!
Got a 72 F100 that would love this ❣️
EFI will improve on everything as it's a new technology
The sniper does very well
I wanted to "look down" upon it, being that it looks less complicated than many of the other EFI units.
@@ElliesGarage 10k miles and flawless, that's incredible.
Kiddo great video, love your very expense HB voltimeter....lol
Thanks! Ha! Yes, nothing but the finest. 😂
Another great episode. Enjoying your progress. I do have a couple questions about the EFI. First, do you get to keep your original breather/air filter? Second, do you have to replace the distributor? I have a Petronix electronic ignition in my original distributor.
No you don't have to I just put super sniper on 72 chevelle with hyperspark love it
As always. Awesome 😃👍
Thanks again!
