    Hi mate
Still a great old kit, until you want to use aftermarket tracks!
I remember hearing about it on a UA-cam channel a while ago.
The vinyl tracks in the kit are actually wider than the aftermarket sets if I remember.
Wheel spacing is incorrect (too wide) on all of Tamiya’s Sd.Kfz.7s so you really need to do your homework before you try to update it.
I grabbed a Dragon kit for a comparison to use for when I get around to doing the modifications.
Thanks for sharing your review Pete ❤😊

Hi mate. Not surprised about the wheel spacing, and the track, the old 8 ton is an early 1970's kit, and a motorised one at that (still have mine). Had a similar problem replacing the tracks on my (early release) Tamiya Panther Ausf. A with some After Markets. Just not quite the same overall length (the AM tracks measured longer). Still, with a bit of juggling, they came out okay. Cheers!

It needs just a couple things. A new batrel, resin front wheels, eduard pe(its cheap for this kit) and tracks. Its all cheap except for the tracks.

Hi mate. I have my eyes out for some PE for this one, and for my Tamiya Flakvierling as well. My biggest want at the moment is some crew figures, that aren't wearing winter smocks (which seems all you can get at the moment). Cheers!

@@PetesKits You can try the Dragon crew for the Flak38 single barrel gun.

Hey Pete, I can confirm that scalemates had the date wrong for the 7/1. Pulled my kit out of the stash and looked at the dates on the sprues. Looked to be 1975 for the 7/1 specific parts. Edited the entry in scalemate to reflect this.
