    I think that an amazing looking 88. Finish is well up there with NightShift and Panzermeister - easily.
    I like the splinter camo - not something you see very often (if at all!) on artillery/flak pieces. Nice choice. Great details as well (tarps and such) - if that was mine I'd be well please with it. Great vid, thanks for sharing, and hope you and yours are staying safe in the current times. Cheers.

I always watch your figure painting tutorials but I almost always have to buy new Vallejo colors to correctly imitate the steps. So if you could show the paints that you find to be a nessecity, that would be very helpful because then I van just buy them all at once.

    Shane, a tip for you when it comes to painting tools on a model, sometimes to make it easier and not get any paint on the surrounding area, you can slide a piece of aluminium foil under it to act as a form of mask. Obviously, you can't always do it, but I find it very handy.

    The Flak looks great man. Really nice and realistic looking. I always found flaks to be tricky to weather and make interesting but you did a fantastic job. I would just suggest you to airbush some more dust layers on the lower part of the gun, those 4 stands that go in each direction. Just a little on front and rear stand and more on those 2 on sides that can fold. They will be dusty from wheels and also if the gun shield is dusty they have to be too. Just a tip and it is not a rivet countering bur a constructive critism. Great build again, i will try using similiar methods like you. Cheers!

    Thanks Shane! Great tutorial. See you making this model's is like watching a dance... it just flows so nice that seems easy. Can you tell me how much time needs to dry the oils to be ready to receive acrylic paints again? Do you give a protective coat of varnish over the oil paint? I never thought that oils and acrylic can work together... it's solid? Cheers 😉

    • @longlance67
      @longlance67  4 роки тому +1

      cheers mate! So when it comes oils I tend to leave them to dry for a minimum of 24 hours to dry fully, sometimes it might take a day or two to fully dry. Once dry you can get away with adding more oils and washes on top of the dried oils without deleting them. I tend only to seal oil layers if I feel there is a risk that a new layer oils might react with the preceding layer

    Good stuff Shane! It turned out well, are you planning on putting it in a diorama or are you just keeping it as a paint test? Either way, it looked good and that was a clever way to hide the bad moulding issues. Cheers!

      I also may have an idea for a collab project for us!

    Another great video Shane. I was into modelling when I was a bit younger and fell out of doing it as more of my time was taken up with other things, but I'm hoping to get back into it. I used to paint a lot of Dragon 1/35 too. My question is, what do you make of Miniart kits? I see them online and think they look good, but would prefer an opinion or two before buying. Hope you're well. Thanks for the videos, they are a great watch.

      Miniart are great little kits, they are little complex at times but top notch at that price range!

    • @longlance67
      @longlance67  4 роки тому

      so firstly I would strongly recommend getting some decent brushes with fine points on them would chiefly recommend getting 0 and 1 round brush. As for paint sets, you have a lot to pick from, I use the AK set however Vallejo, AMMO, Scale 75 and Andrea all have flesh sets that are all much the same, though I would recommend the Vallejo, Andrea or Scale 75 over AMMO to be honest

    hey Shane. Would you say the gloss varnish is an important step? Panzermaister and NightShift dont always varnish their works. Whats your oppinion?

    • @longlance67
      @longlance67  4 роки тому

      it is a similar debate to the prime or not to prime question, I have always found it advantageous to use gloss as I've had paint react with oils or flake off so I just gloss coat as a matter of course now

    • @czaczaja
      @czaczaja 4 роки тому

      @@longlance67 Thanks! I tried gloss coating ages ago but my oil weathering would completely come off and have no effect on the gloss varnish back then. I might try satin maybe or just a better brand.
