Brilliantly broken down Mick. I have always found playing Mr Karns bass lines a mixture of frustration and brilliance, over trying to adopt his ‘technique’ a very unique bass player and just brilliant. Thanks for taking the time mate.
Thanks so much! I'm always amazed at his cleverness, his way of making something SOUND hugely complex, when in fact it can often be something simple utilised in a way a "schooled" player has been conditioned out of even thinking of!
These are D’Addario Chrome flat wound strings. The effects on this video are the Line 6 Pod GO! But it’s actually just a touch of compressor for most of the video
The rhythm is the exact same thing on all three strings - G, D, and A. It's open string, hammer on 9th fret, pluck 9th fret, hammer 11th fret, pluck 11th fret. Except on the A the last note isn't a pluck on the 11th fret, you hit the open E instead. It's a stream of 16th notes up until that open E; it's in groups of 5 so that gives it the syncopated feel that I think is tripping you up.

Never could figure out what Mick actually did in main riff. Now I can! Thanks!
