I just want a cheap copy of Lawrence of Arabia on 4K, is that too much to ask for? Anyways, let's talk about it. Like and Subscribe for more videos like this!
Disney has already begun to voice the idea of having no physical releases at all. Just streaming. Several noted directors including Christopher Nolan have spoken out against this idea as it reduces their legacy to the whims of streaming service business deals and leaves nothing for archives, libraries or individuals to own.
Just goes to show how strictly limited the physical media market is in Australia when Studios (Sony, Disney)start to stop selling physical media in this country because the majority of people use streaming services for there entertainment need's in-turn very low physical media sale's in their eyes justified the decision to stop selling physical media in stores which turned the market to strictly be for certain type of collectors for the foreseeable future if not forever
It must be a Sony thing. I want Ghostbusters on 4K but the standard version only includes the Dolby Atmos audio remix. The 4K disc that’s included in the Ghostbusters Ultimate Collection box set includes the original Dolby Stereo mix, but the box set goes for hundreds of US dollars. As a film purist and a collector, this frustrates me to no end.
I blame it for streaming services which led to the collapse of physical media. Especially for our in Aus, htf we can get a copy of any Disney release in the foreseeable future? I actually work in JB and the very reason to collect movies that I love. But look at prices in Amazon alone, steel book is pretty much the same price as standard releases. This is a sad situation for our collectors, very fking 😢
Same thing happened to the 4k Restoration of raid redemption which got a steelbook that costed £30 and then it came out in Australia in a regular set and rumor has it that it may be coming to the UK. but as of now your two options is to pay alot to import the us or Australian version.
Not a fan of streaming but it’s here to stay, butbits allure is waining and the quality of content is cannabilizing its convenience. When a re-release resto comes out they should have both a standard 4k and special edition steelbook. Both with limited runs. Overall I like a limited pressing at time of release and let the market decide the rest. The exclusivity after which is a good thing, especially as I think physicsl media collecting will grow over time. Overall the costs could be a little cheaper. Buying digital copies can be expensive also but never worth it for fear of losing and id rather have on shelf.
I have no clue where you’ve been checking but Amazon has had it in stock now for months for only 30 bucks USD. Just import it lol it’s region free anyways
@@BraveBladeProductions Support physical media, don't complain that it costs too much. Otherwise you just won't get it anymore. These types of releases are the only reason we still get them.

It's a shame, but ultimately most ordinary people just don't care about Physical Media anymore.
"The day you start buying films because the packaging is nice is the day you should stop buying movies."
A-F**KING-MEN!!! (applauds)
I'm glad you agree.

It's a shame, but I understand why this kind of stuff happens.
@@BraveBladeProductions yeah as every year goes by people get even more lazy
I agree completely! I also wanted to get lawrence and taxi driver on 4k, but I don't like steelbooks 😢

Yep Sony are especially bad for this.

Very sad indeed.

Rare win for Australian Physical Media lol.
Disney has been doing this for their TV Shows. At least they don't cost an arm and a leg but it's still annoying
I hate the idea of steel book exclusives, but if they release Clone Wars Season 7 then I don't think I would be able to stop myself.

Regardless of my opinion the market is definitely starting to gear towards collectors.

Still doesn’t excuse the lack of a standard edition.

man do you read manga or watch anime
Never read manga, had a massive anime phase in high school and just watch bits and pieces now. Fav is probably either Cowboy Bebop or Gurren Lagann.
I hope they keep gatekeepers them so that they keep making money so that they keep making the discs.
There must be another way.
This is a bad take. Why? Because these are the only reason we're still getting physical media.
Otherwise enjoy the low bitrates from streaming.
Oppenheimer didn't need a Collector's Edition to sell out in certain stores.
