I’d probably take this over a Polestar 2, and I had a P2 for 3 years.
I’m driving an iX now and the BMW quality is defo a step up
I’m a big P2 fan, one area where the P2 is ahead of this is comfort in the rear but otherwise the BMW is a very good car. You’ll find it much firmer than the iX mind.

Good review Jim. The interior does look good. The grille...not for me. The hard rear seats are often a problem for older passengers who suffer with joints. Rock hard foam seems to be the norm now sadly.
The rear cabin is quite a compromise in terms of adult comfort but it’s a great thing to drive.

I think it looks ok, many in the comments disagree. Great thing to drive but backseat passengers may not like you very much.
The best BMW I've ever seen, apart from the X59iM I saw in the showroom in Munich!

I had done a lot of research and was hesitating between a polestar 2, a i4, a kia ev6 and a ionic 6. I chose to stick to german cars and go for the iX2 rather thab the i4. Bigger and Awd. And in stock....the i4 had to be order from factory

Love Beemers, but just wish they’d drop the blue ring around the badge, it makes it look cheap which is the polar opposite of their cars 💪🏻

Is this using an LFP battery? Website states 449km which is usually around 400km

Rear wiper? The back seat room looks tiny. Other reviewers have criticised the ride as far too hard, was it that bad?
No, ride is very hard but not daft unless you go into sport mode.
Rear cabin is very compromised.
BMW (and others) seem think it’s what will sell. I am more taken with a car designed as an EV, not as a “all-things…”. This one is even more expensive, less practical and without any particular feature such as range that makes it attractive. Great video Jim. Very informative and right pace and length. Focus on things that matter. Nice one.

I think I would have the electric new Countryman over this and I’m not hugely keen on the new Countryman - IIRC they share underpinnings anyway. The Countryman is way overpriced too so what chance does this have at a price that starts even higher?

Great review as always. That front isn’t great and the back looks worse and the car isn’t great either.

If you're desperate for a over sized grill on your EV and don't want the world to hate you, the Skoda Enyaq Coupe VRS can be had for less money....
Yeah the price is tricky with this one but it's a world apart from the Enyaq in many ways (some good, some bad - but mostly good).

I'm never going to get used to the size of BMW grilles these days - horrible.

BMW are so expensive now as are other makes, its remarkable how people afford them even with PCP / Lease schemes!!
Cheap compared to a Range Rover and they don't have any bother selling. Although many of us earn a very modest living, plenty are doing well.
I can never own a BMW because of the rest of the BMW drivers (probably Audi as well)

Thanks, the front grill is still hideous, but the rest looks good, and the price too high, but it seems like it is very nice inside and drives well and will probably sell well. There are plenty of better EVs about, Model Y, EV6, Ioniq,Polestar, to name a few.
Not for me, I do not want to be a BMW driver.

When BMWs had distinctive top notch engines, they had a stand out reason to buy one, as an EV, they have lost that stand out feature. I suspect the I4 is way better to drive. And for a few grand more you can have an I4 with a 20kw bigger battery. than this.
I’ve driven both, both drive very well, the shorter wheelbase on this perhaps makes it perhaps a tiny bit more fun. Maybe.
front is okay (though doesn't look great for drag coefficient) but rear is fugly

I don't get this trend for producing cars in 'under coat' colour. I suppose there are lots of people that like it, but not for me!
I'm one of them but not on everything - it looks great on the Polestar 2 (to me) but the car has to suit it. I quite liked it on this BMW to be fair.
I can’t stand to the ugliest tail lights I’ve ever seen in a BMW as well as the pointless rear gloss black bumpers. Not my cup of tea.

Rear looks terrible. Grill is awful and who would want it illuminated? Price daft, but what BMW is a bargain?
It’s a great thing to drive. Styling is a very subjective thing and always seems to be a fairly contentious subject when a new BMW is the topic of conversation.
